“This is the best Chinese food. I'm very picky but I LOVE their Honey Chicken and my favorite is the Beef, Chicken, and Shrimp with Broccoli in Garlic Sauce. I adore the family that owns and operates it who recognized me even when I hadn't been there in a while (I don't live nearby so can only get it if I'm in GR). I can't recommend them enough and would give them a sixth star if I could.“

“We ordered 2 family meals to go, which included 6 entrees and 4 sides. The order was done on time, pickup was easy, and the food was delicious. We fed about 12 adults, and everyone was very satisfied and couldn't stop talking about how good everything was. We will definitely be ordering again in the near future.“

“I moved to Michigan 5 years ago from NY and have struggled to find a Chinese food place that wasn't catered to the bland Midwest pallete.
I found it here! The food is incredibly flavorful, the meat is so tender and very good quality. The vegetables taste fresh, and they give you good portions. The customer service is great, both people we spoke with were very friendly and kind. The only thing that was disappointing, is that it they used to have a buffet that they no longer run due to cost. Which is totally understandable. I just wish we could have visited when the resteraunt was in full swing. Regardless, absolutely worth the drive from grand rapids, we will definitely be return customers!“

“I have been coming here for years. In my opinion, best Chinese food and prices on the west side of GR and Walker/Standale. I have never been unhappy with a meal here. Nice people too! The dining room is small and you eat out of styrofoam and plastic utensils, that's true. But this is mostly a take out place, not a true dine in place.“

“They are a little bit expensive I will say but you do get a lot of food for the price you pay, also the food is enough for two people and even have some left overs. First time trying them out and definitely was not disappointed at all. Very friendly, customer service was great and the lady who took our order was really sweet. “So this review is just for take out, I've never eaten in. I've been satisfied with everything I've ordered. Chinese food is hard to review, because everyone has their preference. But I've ordered Chinese food from restaurants that cost twice as much, and tasted the same or worse. I was bummed that China Garden didn't have teriyaki chicken. But their BBQ chicken (I just like saying "chicken on a stick") is so crispy in a good way, that I want all my "chicken on a stick" to be like theirs! Also, they were open in a massive, everyone shut down everything, snow storm. So, I'll drive out of my way to go here.“

“I decided to order food here because I saw that their lunch menu was very affordable and I’m a broke college student working downtown for the summer. I got the beef and broccoli order with the side of chicken fried rice- I just took my first bite and it’s wonderful! The flavor is awesome in the rice, beef and vegetables and my order came with an AWESOME amount of food as well! It was ready for me to pick up only 15 minutes after I called to order.

Look at the picture I’ve provided, I got all of this for a little less than $12! I will absolutely be coming again and getting my lunches from the Hong Kong Express! :)“

“Stopped here for lunch with my husband and we absolutely loved it! I had sesame chicken and he had lo mein with chicken. We both enjoyed egg drop soup and rangoons as an appetizer. The food was fresh and portion sizes were big enough to share. The service was friendly and quick and we'll definitely go back!“

“The employees are very friendly and I’ve never eaten an item off the menu I didn’t love! They do lunch discounts and combos too. The food isn’t greasy like other places I’ve been and there’s always quick service - though I’m not a fan that they pick their own hours to work as any time I call when their website says they’re open, no one is there. After 12:30p seems to be the best time. I placed a take away order and had to call back as I realized I left my car keys in a friend’s car. She kindly said she’d hold my order. Nearly an hour later when I finally got my keys, Wendy had told me she cooked what would save but didn’t want to make the rest until I got there so it wouldn’t be cold. I appreciated her so much.“

This little restaurant is clean, accessible and parking is right out front. The place doesn't look like much from the outside or the inside, but don't be fooled, the food is outstanding.
My personal favorite is chicken pho with beef broth, (tastier than with just chicken broth IMHO) the add-ins are very fresh, service is fast and friendly.
Give this eatery a try, it might just become one of your faves, too!“
