“My wife and enjoyed our 55th anniversary with dinner at Amore'. Chef Jenna visited every table in our area and asked about every course we ordered. This is by far the best restaurant in the Grand Rapids area: we ordered the 5 course Chef's menu and each had something different from appetizers through desserts so we could taste all. From the waiter, the live music, our beverages, and Jenna's attention paid to all, the best meal ever.“

“Always enjoy your beer but why does your bathroom resemble a jail cell? Weird, dark, lighting and dark colors. Also, that stainless steal sink that stays on for maybe a fraction of a second.

Who saw this aesthetic and thought, I'd feel comfortable in my most vulnerable state here.

“Food and atmosphere have always been great. However, lately the pizza sauce flavor has declined. In addition - the side salad is terrible. A bowl of dry spring mix with a few tomatoes and a handful of cheese. Flavorless. A better mix of greens - add some romaine and iceberg, toss on a couple cucumbers. Meatballs! Yum!“

“I rarely leave reviews, but our service that last two visits deserve it! Our kids love the free popcorn and card games. We love the food and drinks, and June is the best bartender and waitress! She reminded us what real hospitality feels like, remembers us and our orders from previous visits, and made real connections with our teens. We'll definitely be back on nights when she's working!“

“We had Victoria as our server and she did a fantastic job. Super nice, courteous and was always on top of things despite how busy it was. The food is great but they are understaffed so there could be a long wait time. Would definitely reccomend if you have time to come eat here.“

“Today my wife and I decided to try this restaurant for the first time and said to ourselves “we moved here in 2024 and are now just trying it. Wish we did earlier.”

We were very happy with everything from the time we entered to the time we left and here is why…

1. Staff - all that we interacted with were very kind, nice, helpful, and attentive. Our waitress was well versed in the menu and did a great job. We enjoyed having her serve us.

2. Food - today we went right for the entree (skipped apps) and could have been more pleased.

My chicken strips and tots were done to a crispy golden perfection that I just loved with the BBQ sauce they served. Highly recommend.

My wife said her burger was excellent and the loaded tots were so good she could have had them just on their own.

And the prices were very reasonable yet, worth it.

3. Atmosphere - a sports bar with many TVs for fans to watch the game (myself included) is a perfect atmosphere for me but when you go to converse with others, it’s always perfect when nothing over powers your conversation.

By this I mean the TVs were not blaring and neither was music. It was a calm easy going feel where we both could enjoy great conversation without saying “huh? Can’t hear you.”

All in all, we may have waited a few years before trying Big E’s on Beltline in Grand Rapids but better late then never. We will be back and recommend it to anyone interested.“

“I went picked Brass Ring Brewing to celebrate my birthday with my family. I choose Brass Ring because I was interested in trying their cask ales. What I found at Brass Ring was a level of customer service that I have rarely found across the food service industry. We showed up at Brass Ring to find that a very large group was dining there, taking up a majority of the seating. They don't take reservations, so it was going to be a challenge finding a table for our group of 6. The owner heard the staff struggling to find us an available table. He jumped in and found a solution. He personally asked a couple that was seated at a large table if they would be willing to move. They graciously accepted to make room for us. This level of customer service has obviously been trained into the entire staff because our waiter was the most helpful and hospitable server I've ever encountered. Firstly, he was extremely knowledgeable of food and drink menu, helping us to navigate it superbly. He also got the entire restaurant to sing "Happy Birthday" with us when it was time for dessert. The food and drinks were top notch, but the customer service was out of this world. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to the Brass Ring. You will not be disappointed!“

Our server did a wonderful job helping us navigate the somewhat overwhelming menu, steering us toward standout picks like the Spicy Angel Sushi Roll and the Chicken Udon Noodles — both excellent choices. Service was attentive throughout, though it did feel a touch pushy at times when it came to placing our order and closing out the bill. The restaurant's aesthetic is fairly simple and could use a bit more character, but the food more than made up for it. Great sushi, and we'll definitely be back for more.“

“My girlfriends and I met at Blue Water for dinner tonight. Our waiter named Will made our dinner so enjoyable and fun. Our dinner came out so fast and the food was delicious. We split a dessert that we all didn’t care for. The General Manager Sheena came over immediately and offered us to try something different. She brought us a new dessert. She was so sweet and personable.“

I’ll probably order myself a plate of the nachos as my meal next visit because it was a great portion and amazing flavor with REAL crab. My ONLY complaint is we were there around 7pm or so on saturday sitting at the bar drinking and conversing next to multiple other couples and a couple ladies and two small children were sat at a table adjacent to us. I wish they didn’t allowed minors after a certain time or maybe on the weekends when adults are mostly going out. We were going for the dark, mature, ambiance (while seated at the bar) and it was thrown way off by the kids that were sat near us. We went for the “night life” and ended up feeling pretty awkward drinking and trying to have mature conversation next to lively small children.“
