“Anybody reading this, my mamaw was the barmaid there beginning in the 60s. Annie Ruth Ladd. They also lived above the bar for some time. My mother told me that she vividly remembers looking out the window and seeing the National guard going down Jefferson into Detroit. At that time, she was 9 years old. My mother grew up to work in the bar. Her name is Roseann or Rosie. I spent lots of my youth there, playing quarter machines. Rosie Also worked Square Deal. Y'all probably knew my papaw too his name was Jim Ray Boatwright and he was known in River Rouge as being one of the Town drunks lol God rest his soulCan't wait to stop in and reminisce!Also, if anybody knew my family or can share stories, please let me know. “Stopped here before a concert at LCA last night - obviously busy, but wait wasn’t bad at all and we were able to get a drink at the bar and wait outside. I wish I could remember our servers name, but she was absolutely stellar! She was super friendly, funny and quick despite having a large section on a busy night. Got the shrimp tacos (AMAZING and filling - has a perfect amount of “kick”) and my husband got the hot chicken sandwich (the one small bite I was allowed was phenomenal) overall 10/10 experience!“

POOKIE and his crew went out of their way to make sure that every detail was perfect.
Reality took wonderful care of my guests outside, while Maddie, Michaela, and Tehya worked their usual magic inside!
AJ Lynn played acoustic guitar music under the awning and the vibe was so fun and relaxing.
While the weather is nice I highly recommend that you stop in and check out their brand new patio, or better yet reserve it for your next event! You won’t be disappointed!

Came here on a Monday (when they'd opened specifically for an LFC match) and was blown away by the hospitality - Irish coffees and HT pizza anyone? - and the kindness shown to me by Jet (hope I've spelled tha right) who was running the place and assorted legends partaking in the match / beer / whisky. They even gave me a Detroit LFC supporters scarf which I'll be sure to take to Anfield when I next go. Super fun and lovely people - thank you!“

“I went there for dinner today after a long week of work to start my birthday weekend! My birthday is tomorrow. I am handicapped and need a low table. The patio was the only low table. Next to a guy and his dog. There were 7 in all out there. It smelled like wet, nasty, dirty, need a bath, dog! I spent $42! On top of that, my waitress walked away after asking me if my Mahi Mahi tacos were made correctly and I said I clearly haven't bit into them yet, and after I asked her if she could smell wet dog. I never saw her again. Did I want another glass of wine? Was my food made correctly? I had to ask another waitress if she could grab my waitress and have her bring my bill and to go containers! Then my waitress comes and says I was just coming over. I said I never saw you since you brought my food! She again walked away! Niiiiiice customer service! Maybe she should think about another line of work! I have 38yrs of CSR experience! Maybe next time she will be worthy of a tip! She sure wasn't this time and I will not be going back to the non service dog patio or restaurant! Which is a shame as you make the Mahi Mahi tacos how I like, BJ's Brewhouse doesn't.“

“We had a rehearsal dinner for 40 people at Sheilds in Detroit and it was the best experience ever! The food was wonderful, the atmosphere was great and the staff were so awesome!!! When we got there everything was set up for us and they were very welcoming. The manager Jason was great, and had everything running smoothly. The wait staff…shout out to L & D we’re phenomenal! They were right there with refills, smiles, jokes and anything you needed. They made the experience so wonderful!!! I would recommend to anyone looking for a party venue, or just a dinner out to come eat here!! 5 stars!!!!!!“

“My girlfriend and meself stopped in randomly after the Eastern Market and had one of the best meals and experience we’ve had while visiting Detroit. The Tokyo muscles were the best muscles I’ve ever had. We had a classic Bloody Mary and their hot sauce really brought some heat! We got the Carmel cookie coffee as well and that was swell as well. The environment and staff especially made the experience even better. We had Rhonda as a server and she was very pleasant and helped give us recommendations that turned out to be very tasty. Overall we were glad we chose to eat at Vivio’s and will definitely be back next time we wander to Detroit.“

“The G.O.A.T is one of my favourite restaurants!! The food is always great and served hot. My favourite is the salted caramel wings.
When I came into tonight it was extremely busy, the food came quick and was hot. The staff were amazing! I can’t wait for my birthday with my friends here“

They have a patio that we didn’t utilize but upon entering on a chilly day, was quite warm. We sat inside at a booth style table. Wasn’t a fan of the booth seat as it didn’t allow for me to sit straight, the back had an angle to it so I’d have to lean it back like fat Joe.

We went on a Saturday afternoon and they had specials which was a great surprise to us. I paid less than $14 for a chicken sandwich, fries, and a mimosa. So it was a good deal! I left feeling satisfied, just a tip to ask for extra napkins!“
