“Anybody reading this, my mamaw was the barmaid there beginning in the 60s. Annie Ruth Ladd. They also lived above the bar for some time. My mother told me that she vividly remembers looking out the window and seeing the National guard going down Jefferson into Detroit. At that time, she was 9 years old. My mother grew up to work in the bar. Her name is Roseann or Rosie. I spent lots of my youth there, playing quarter machines. Rosie Also worked Square Deal. Y'all probably knew my papaw too his name was Jim Ray Boatwright and he was known in River Rouge as being one of the Town drunks lol God rest his soulCan't wait to stop in and reminisce!Also, if anybody knew my family or can share stories, please let me know. “Easter Sunday, landed here after trying Longhorn. We were all glad it worked out this way! It's a regular bar with plenty of TVs. There were some sports fans but it was not full and loud. It felt much more personal. Taya was a great server! The burgers, club sandwiches, tater tots and fries were very good. The onion rings were overdone but tasted fine. My drinks were not shy on the rum. They were out of desserts. We were full but some of us would have had a sweet just to top off the outing. I didn't see any regular height tables or chairs. I'd like to recommend that they add a regular height table or 2 for folks that need that accommodation. Thankfully, my elderly parents were able to sit in the high backed chairs that we exchanged from the bar. We really appreciate the experience and will be here again.“

Came here on a Monday (when they'd opened specifically for an LFC match) and was blown away by the hospitality - Irish coffees and HT pizza anyone? - and the kindness shown to me by Jet (hope I've spelled tha right) who was running the place and assorted legends partaking in the match / beer / whisky. They even gave me a Detroit LFC supporters scarf which I'll be sure to take to Anfield when I next go. Super fun and lovely people - thank you!“

“I went there for dinner today after a long week of work to start my birthday weekend! My birthday is tomorrow. I am handicapped and need a low table. The patio was the only low table. Next to a guy and his dog. There were 7 in all out there. It smelled like wet, nasty, dirty, need a bath, dog! I spent $42! On top of that, my waitress walked away after asking me if my Mahi Mahi tacos were made correctly and I said I clearly haven't bit into them yet, and after I asked her if she could smell wet dog. I never saw her again. Did I want another glass of wine? Was my food made correctly? I had to ask another waitress if she could grab my waitress and have her bring my bill and to go containers! Then my waitress comes and says I was just coming over. I said I never saw you since you brought my food! She again walked away! Niiiiiice customer service! Maybe she should think about another line of work! I have 38yrs of CSR experience! Maybe next time she will be worthy of a tip! She sure wasn't this time and I will not be going back to the non service dog patio or restaurant! Which is a shame as you make the Mahi Mahi tacos how I like, BJ's Brewhouse doesn't.“

“Stopped here before a concert at LCA last night - obviously busy, but wait wasn’t bad at all and we were able to get a drink at the bar and wait outside. I wish I could remember our servers name, but she was absolutely stellar! She was super friendly, funny and quick despite having a large section on a busy night. Got the shrimp tacos (AMAZING and filling - has a perfect amount of “kick”) and my husband got the hot chicken sandwich (the one small bite I was allowed was phenomenal) overall 10/10 experience!“

“If you're looking for a place for meet and greets, chill vibes to kick back after work or just to hang out downtown, Firebird is the place. The food was 10/10, service was prompt and everyone was very welcoming. Clean and well kept establishment, I will be back for sure to another green tea that was made to perfection.“

“We had a rehearsal dinner for 40 people at Sheilds in Detroit and it was the best experience ever! The food was wonderful, the atmosphere was great and the staff were so awesome!!! When we got there everything was set up for us and they were very welcoming. The manager Jason was great, and had everything running smoothly. The wait staff…shout out to L & D we’re phenomenal! They were right there with refills, smiles, jokes and anything you needed. They made the experience so wonderful!!! “My girlfriend and meself stopped in randomly after the Eastern Market and had one of the best meals and experience we’ve had while visiting Detroit. The Tokyo muscles were the best muscles I’ve ever had. We had a classic Bloody Mary and their hot sauce really brought some heat! We got the Carmel cookie coffee as well and that was swell as well. The environment and staff especially made the experience even better. We had Rhonda as a server and she was very pleasant and helped give us recommendations that turned out to be very tasty. Overall we were glad we chose to eat at Vivio’s and will definitely be back next time we wander to Detroit.“

“Visiting on a Sunday afternoon and had some of the BEST service by an amazing bartender Ken! Every seat at the bar was full, but it didn’t feel like it because Ken was very attentive and was handling everything with great professionalism. I never had to wait on refills or follow up on how my meal went…seemed like the perfect amount of attention.

I was there the previous day and the bartender and the female server/bar wrench were so overwhelmed by the 1 4 top and 4 people at the bar I literally timed myself sitting there and it was over 20 minutes before she acknowledged me.

I’m glad I came back to give them a second chance, because Ken was excellent and provided great service as noted on previous reviews“

“We randomly walked in before the Thanksgiving day parade just to warm up and grab a drink. Before we knew it we were welcomed with open arms to enjoy watching the parade from the giant enclosed and beautiful rooftop area! What an incredible view and experience!
