“Could not have been more pleased with the service (shout out to Lauren) and the hostess with the mostest (Stephanie) and if they were not enough to draw you in the chef is AAAAMAZING. We had the Risotto (and hubby declared it the best he’d ever had) and the Tartare and I would eat that every day if I could. The pickled vegetables - onions, asparagus, beans - were to die for. We’ll definitely be back. I think we found our new favorite place.“

“This place is amazing! It's very bright and open, and the decor is very tasteful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was so good, we got the labneh and pita, the potatoes, and the breakfast and falafel pitas. Everything tasted great, the pita was super soft and fresh, the potatoes were well seasoned and the toum on top of the potatoes was strong and garlicky. Only think I'd say is that between the breakfast pita and batatas it can be a lot of potato. We will definitely be back when we come back to Traverse City!“

“My kids say the pancakes and potatoes are out of this world! Perfectly cooked bacon, fresh squeezed OJ. For those with a more diverse palate don’t pass up on the stuffed pepper. Kimmy took great care of us!“
“Earthen Ales is a pleasant place to enjoy a beer. I stopped by to try a flight of beers and really enjoyed their darker ales. It feels pretty casual and welcoming, and I like how it’s kind of hidden away back there. I’ll have to look out for their beers in my neck of the woods.“

“Stopped in for a quick beer. The IPA on tap was good but they have a small line up of beers for how big a space it is. Inside nice concrete floor. Forward thinking bathrooms for men to change babies was a great touch. Has an outdoor patio area that looked like it could use a little tlc though...there was a surprising amount of space inside but I think it could be better spaced as the hightop tables seemed congested to me. Simple fixes. Just takes effort.“

“While searching for a place to grab a quick bite before I had to be to the school to get my son, I found Identity. And I'm so glad I did! When I walked in, I wasn't bombarded with questions, I was able to walk over to the cooler and look at their selection. I didn't see anything in there that I wanted, however it looked fresh and yummy. But I didn't want a sandwich. When I approached the counter I was met with a happy male employee. He showed me where the daily specials were and handed me a menu too. I was able to quickly glance over the menu with ease. It was big bold letter with prices attached. I ordered the quesadilla after being told it would take less than 5 minutes to make. This was important, I had to get to the school. He quickly went to the back and made my dilla and it's delicious!! I added black beans to it and the cost was still under my price point!
Vegetarian options: Every option you can get without the meat and it would be just as good. However they do have a black bean substitute. They had at least one vegetarian option in every section. This was needed as I am also a vegetarian.
Kid-friendliness: They have a children's menu. The menu is roughly 5 items long. Long enough to give options but not too long that children are flustered. (:“

“Such a fun welcoming place to bring our dog. He loves running around the big yard and playing with other dogs. We love relaxing & enjoying the beverages. :) You can sit inside on cold days & still watch your dog through the big windows. And everything is impeccably clean! Can’t recommend K&A enough.“

“This is a must visit and one of our forever favorites in Traverse City! The staff is the best you will find, we were greeted with such happiness and offered toys for the little guys right from the start. The bartenders were great and our hostess watched over us and helped us with suggestions and our order throughout the evening. We ordered some bomb beer, drinks for the kids and ended up sharing a handful of 1/2 pizzas. The beer was great and every pizza was absolutely amazing! When you have great service it shows and the staff here is above all others! They deserve and earn every 5 stars! Thank you for a great experience that we will remember for a long time.“

“My Mom had the chili & black bean burger. She loved both! I had the French dip and I was great- the chips seemed homemade. A very quaint space too, but small so while we only waited about ten minutes, I would recommend reservations. Though there is plenty of shopping to keep you busy should you need to wait longer.“

My daughter was struggling to decide what she wanted and the person taking our order asked her probing questions (like what's your favorite candy, lemonade flavor, lollipop flavor) to help her decide what to get! “This place is incredible. A super great atmosphere with a ton of vintage pinball machines and some other arcade games. The beer was delicious & has a huge variety that you can't go wrong with. The pizza was absolutely incredible. I had that BBQ chicken and it was awesome. Great service too as the owner, Russ, was there to personally greet us. “After a perfect day soaking up the sun on one of Upper Michigan's beautiful beaches, my family and I stumbled upon what turned out to be the ideal way to cap off our adventure – Bardon's Wonder Freeze. What a delightful surprise this little ice cream stand turned out to be!
In a world where it seems like every food establishment is charging premium prices for mediocre quality, Bardon's Wonder Freeze stands as a refreshing exception.
The serving sizes were genuinely generous. No skimpy scoops here – they pile it on with the kind of old-fashioned generosity that's becoming increasingly rare. The kids were thrilled, and honestly, so were the adults. :-)
The prices were also incredibly reasonable. At a time when a simple ice cream cone elsewhere might cost you $8 or more for a disappointingly small portion, Bardon's Wonder Freeze proves that you can still get excellent value for your money.
The variety of flavors was impressive, and each scoop delivered on taste. Personally, I went for the Brownie Sundae with hot fudge. VERY yummy!!
The combination of delicious flavors, generous portions, and fair pricing made this a memorable family experience that perfectly complemented our beach day. If you find yourself in Upper Michigan and need a sweet treat, don't miss Bardon's Wonder Freeze. It's truly a local gem.“

“Dropped in on a Saturday around Noon after walking the boardman trail. There wasn’t a wait & we were able to grab any seat we wanted. I got a Brie-apple crepe & my partner got a Nutella-banana crepe. We both got lattes with oat milk. The service was attentive & the workers were very sweet. My crepe was truly delicious - will crave it and think about it in the future!“

“Had great service tonight. Waiter gave my indecisive wife multiple samples. We split the lamb burger and banh mi. The lamb burger is excellent, the bahn mi’s sodium content was off the charts and super gross. They can’t all be zingers! Still love this place, check it out!“

“Oaky’s is out of the way near Grawn, but it’s worth the drive. Old timers knew the place as Giovanni’s Roadhouse, then Maddy’s Tavern. Both had ok food in a rustic building. Oaky’s owners have greatly improved the place. It’s large and airy inside, with a long wraparound deck outside. The food is mighty fine: the kitchen did a first-class job with our Smoked Turkey Club and Steak ’n Mushroom soup. The servers know their stuff and are a pleasure to deal with. The prices are a reasonable - indeed, they’re a buck or two lower per item than what you’ll find at competitors. And the parking lot isn’t the potholed monster like it was back in the old days.“
