“Great food, drinks & service!“

“Attended and helped plan my good friends wedding and I have to say the team at Charlevoix did such an amazing job! They executed 120 person event flawless with offerings of signature cocktails, delicious and unique food a cool environment but most of all attentive 5* service from all the staff and kitchen team that made a wonderful and memorable event. I highly recommend this as your next go to destination for a dining out experience. Cheers !!!“

“The SE MI Brewery Discovery Tour continues. (I'm done counting, it takes too much effort)
The building used to be a church. I personally love that repurposing. (Once saw a church knocked down to put in a Walmart! ) The layout works great: big U-shaped bar surrounded by 4-seat high-top tables. The all-important stainless steel vessels taking the place of the pulpit & choir. 6 big screens are spread around for the sports oriented. There is a room of the back of the main one with big leather-clad easy chairs & an actual fireplace. So cozy.
The free parking is in the back but you have to enter from the Biergarten which is entered from the corner. So, if you or a compadre are using a wheelchair, get dropped off at the corner.
The beer list is pretty broad, 2 pages, the food menu is of decent size.
Got a Lip Lock Cherry stout followed by a Peach Blonde. The stout was less sweet than expected (based on nothing) but nicely balanced. The peach version of the Dirty Blonde was tasty and refreshing.
Ate an Atwater Brat in-between. The brat was OK. The pretzel bun was good, the toppings (cheese, jalapeños, bacon bits) were good, too. The brat itself was the weak spot, tasted too much like a big hotdog.“

“Ran into this place the day before the marathon. Sat at the bar and got recommendations on what to get from the staff. Everything was fantastic. We ended up with calamari, scallops, gnudi, and trilece for dessert. This place was one of the best parts of our trip and we're excited to return. The only thing better than your food is your staff.“

“Single women beware I was being followed throughout the building on the way to the elevators to get the restaurant. Followed by one guy that I saw, but when I got to the elevators he came to the elevators and another guy was behind him, he did some sign language to the other guy as they slowly walked by as I had just explained to the lady at the elevator I was being followed. I don’t know what they were planning but he definitely looked me in my face as I entered the Renaissance building, as he was already there, then he began to follow me as I saw him every time I looked back over my shoulder. Getting to these elevators are difficult so you have to stop and read the signage and figure out which way to go and he could’ve been gone on his way but No he didn't! I definitely felt uneasy and fearful. I was celebrating my birthday and meeting my niece there. Women be careful!!!!!! The salad was Great! The octopus was just ok, would not order again, the Halibut was bland but fair.“

Our waitress, Brianna was great and we had a great conversation with Derek. He was wonderful. I highly recommend this place. They also have a rooftop and patio dinning.“

The owners of The Whitney have done so much to preserve this amazing estate in Detroit without any funding assistance from the government or grants. “My wife and I dropped in for lunch on a quiet afternoon to try the restaurant out; it had been quite a while since we had been here. My wife had a great fish sandwich. She reported that it was light, flaky, and crispy - and not at all greasy. I tried the Buffalo chicken burger. Excellent - it was tender and not overcooked, and with just the right amount of Buffalo sauce, not overwhelmingly spicy but flavorful. And our server was friendly and there when we needed her for service.“

“This is home. The heart of the Eastern Market since I was a little girl. This place and Mike's are pillars for Detroit classics. Service is always A1. My mom always gets their breakfast which they give ginormous portions and I either get a corned beef sandwich or a coney and chili cheese fries. They dont miss!“

“The shakes were amazing! The atmosphere was so cute! I'm so glad we had the chance to check this place! We will definitely recommend it to anyone we know who will be in the area. My only complaint was the staff could be a little more welcoming and enthusiastic. The lady at the door was on her phone on a facetime call when we came in (which she did appologize for but didn't get off the phone) and the waitress just seemed short and not really happy. She wasn't rude and got our order right, so I still gave it 5 stars. It just seemed with the atmosphere that they would be a little bubblier and more enthusiastic. But I would still definitely come there again. I still gave 5 stars for service because maybe it was an off day and like I said they didn't mess our order up and were quick.“

I waited like 15+ mins in the rain to order. I walked inside half way through the wait to look for someone, never found anyone. Went back outside & waited with 4 more people & no one ever came so after 15+ mins, I went upstairs to the store & asked for help. The girl working found the cook (who also takes the orders) & just happened to be on lunch. I wouldn't have minded waiting if there would've been a little 30 min break sign up or something. I ordered an omelette and the cheese and moisture from the food made a hole in my paper container if I didn’t notice my food could’ve fell out but other then that the food is always a thumbs up.“

“A Perfect Start Before the Ballgame

Stopped in before a game at Comerica, and it was a fantastic way to kick off the day. Though the place was short-staffed, the service didn’t miss a beat. Our waitress and the busser were both clearly busy, but they still delivered outstanding service. The coffee was hot with quick refills, and our food came out fast, fresh, and solid all around. Pricing was more than fair for the quality and portion sizes. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town!“
