“Had a new year's day girls date with my family and everything was great. Our server (I wish I could remember her name) was top notch. We came for breakfast but it turns out that the chicken strips my granddaughter ordered and didn't eat were the star of the show! I would definitely take the drive and come back.“
“The panko breaded perch with the Hawaiian salad was excellent. I love the spaced out relaxed atmosphere where you can enjoy a private conversation. Service was spot on. I also like a restaurant that serves rolls or bread that is specially made served right after you sit down. Nice job.“
“I went to Mike's on the water the last day they were open for the season, which was November 26, 2023, I also went with friends there, 3 of us had the end of there season special which was a hamburger, fries, and a pop for $8, we all enjoyed our food, it was cooked to perfection, the waitress was very friendly, they also had a beautiful Christmas tree there“
“Was just there for the first time for Bfast. and Bfast being our main meal of the day the food was good the service was as well. We did get there at a time when they were not busy but several folks did come in ~15 minutes after we arrived. The menu was extensive for breakfast as well as for lunch, we got our food (Ham & cheddar omelet w/potatos and toast as well as a stack of blueberry pancakes) The omelet was large (3 eggs) and the ham & cheese were plentiful although the ham was diced into small bits and I prefer mine more in 1/4" x 1/2" slices and the potatoes were done just right. My wife's pancakes (3) were a good size and easy to cut, we hate pancakes where we need a steak knife to cut them) they had good flavor in addition to the blueberries. The coffee was good if you like strong just a tad below Starbucks, I'm a Tasters Choice person so was a bit strong for me but wasn't bad at all. We will absolutely go back as we eat out 4-5x a week in the morning. Thank you for a pleasant experience“
“Stumbled upon this place while working in the area. Stopped in and gave it a try. Besides the spring roll and the pork skewer, I wasn't really sure what I got. All I can say is it was all very delicious. They gave me a serving of the soup for free. I think I was a ginger soup and that was super tasty. The dish that came with rice kind of had a resemblance of chili or a stew, but it was really good. I believe it had Chicken in it. I would go back there again.“
“What a quaint location in a historic home! There is a nice feeling of privacy as there are only a handful of tabled in each of the several rooms. The server was very kind even if a bit inexperienced. The escargot was very good and a generous size portion. The loaded baked potato soup was unremarkable. The New York was well seasoned and cooked to order.Stop by, listen to Don at the piano, have a meal, and see for yourself.“
“Gilberts is a great place to meet friends and they have good food and drinks. The staff is friendly and the service is good. I work long hours and sometimes I eat late. Gilberts is always there. The management keeps things clean and safe for all ages.“
“Found this place because I wanted somewhere close to the water/lake, and I saw that the reviews were very good. So I brought my grandfather (100y.o.) to have brunch and it was quite excellent! The restaurant is so beautifully put together and very clean! The staff was helpful and friendly. And the food was so yummy!! I plan on returning very soon with my group of friends for a lovely (boozy hehehe) brunch!! 10/10!!“
“I have been here more than 5 times and each time they are out of something on the menu. With that said though the food I have gotten has been good, and a good portion for the money. The atmosphere is great. Always appears clean and taken care of. Service has been pleasant. Will return.“
“This was my 2nd time here. I had the fish and chips with the clam chowder both times. There was some inconsistencies with the fry between the two visits. The first time was definitely better but the flavor was good both times. The chowder is amazing. And the fried gouda sticks were delicious also. Our server both times was nice and responsive. Our 2nd time the server was more seasoned. She knew the menu inside and out and understood how to answer all of my questions. She also had recommendations which I asked for. For what it's worth, the restaurant could benefit from a update it's definitely an old and dinge kinda vibe. With that said though the food was good, and we will return.“
“Best thing you can do is follow play my Facebook so you can learn all their specials. But man their Detroit style pizza is second to none. The fish and chips are out of this world, services gray atmospheres awesome and the carry out is just as good. And check out the 9 and Mack grocery nextdoor, Awesome Mediterranean ingredients.Parking: Parking is around the back and there's a rear entrance.Wheelchair accessibility: Everything's on the first level“
“Was the only place we could find that was actually open in St Clair shores past 9pm during the week. Decent place..nothing to write home about, but I'd eat there again! Waitress was nice. Food was reasonably priced. Buns were a little mushy, but that happens.“
“lCalled in my order, asked what kind of soup, waitress said, it's the same soups we always have on sat and Sunday. I said I don't order every weekend, only maybe once a month. She said rosimarina and lemon rice and hung up on me! Rude!! If she owns the place oh well but if she's an employee she needs a talking to.“
“Had a great dinner at the new Blue Goose! For only day 2 of being open you would never know, service and food were amazing! Will be back for sure. The owner does a fantastic job with his restaurants - I was a regular at Salvatore’s on 9 mile for years and was beyond excited when they announced a restaurant in the Shores.“
“Just came in and wow when I got my food. The lady in the front was very sweet & took great care of us. Will go again. Be sure to have at least 20 dollars for each person. Each meal is about 15 & you do want to leave a tip. Totally worth it. You get really good hot food. Remember I ate some of the tots already. “
“Classic, old school diner with excellent food, great staff and beautifully managed and run. Been coming here since and kid and will continue to do so. The Travis burgers are a MUST but be WARNED! They will be greasy. If ordering takeout make sure to double bag. Thank you for your service and for feeding me and my family over the years. Big Blue out.Parking: Parking lot can and will get full depending on the time of day. But you should be able to find parking within the immediate area.“
“Very pretty inside, clean and a pretty veiw of the lake and boats. We made reservations online. We were greeted and seated right away. Our waitress took our drink order right away. She came back then took our appetizer order. She brought out our appetizers which were very hot. Then took our food order. My husband ordered the calamari which he said was pretty good. I ordered the beef egg rolls. Besides being fresh they lacked seasoning. She took our food orders.I don’t know if our food just sat under the heat lamp too long but both of our dishes were over cooked. I got a chicken sandwich (also under seasoned again) and he got the sword fish. Both very dry. Also I got a rum runner which was very good (just tell them to hold the dead flies)For the price we paid, I don’t think our dinner was worth it. Not for some over cooked, under seasoned meals.Parking: Parking across from the buildingWheelchair accessibility: Open spaces“
“My friend & I had lunch at this National Coney Island today. JR was our server, and she was so friendly, with a sweet smile, and she took good care of us. The food and drinks were great. Good value for the money! Please recognize JR for her excellent customer service! We will return, and ask for her!Parking: They had several reserved spots available, which made it easier for me, a parking placard holder, to get a good parking spot close to the entrance. Much easier to park at this one than the one on Mack Avenue in Grosse Pointe.“
“We stopped in for breakfast before a wrestling tournament and we had excellent service and our food was great! My son said the French toast was the best he’s ever had, and the corn beef hash was homemade! Would definitely recommend and will stop again if we are back in the area.“
