“We are vegetarian and tried most of the veg options on the menu. We loved the gnocchi and petite salad. We also tried the potatoes and sweet potatoes which were both good. The bread and butter were yummy. Mocktails were ok but not my favorite. Service was spot on. Highly recommend.”

Unfortunately the bar service was slow so our server had to apologize 2 or 3 times for not delivering our cocktails earlier. They took quite a while. It seems the menu selections are not really for your average Mexican cuisine diner. A bit pricey for no reason at all. I probably wouldn't come here again by choice but if someone else invited me, I'd return.

My husband got the half chicken and I got the steak, both were pretty good and came with veggies and house made corn tortillas which were great for making little tacos. Use the accompanying salsas on the menu, they boost the flavor of the entrees. Parking around this place is not the easiest.”

“Tried this place for the first time today! Rider was my server and he was absolutely amazing. Knowledgeable funny and sweet. Genuinely had such a good time just being in his presence and he was very attentive! Tried the flaming fig, although without the jam. Didn't personally find it too spicy without the jam, although my friend found it slightly spicy with the jam. Either way it was the most delicious grilled cheese ever. Great wine selection, and don't be afraid to try the espresso drink made with blood orange soda, it was very good! On the store side of things, there was a great selection of product and the service was great. Will definitely tell as many people as possible about this place and will come again!”

Menu is relatively small but packed with a variety of small appetizers through entrees that are well prepared, visually appealing with excellent flavor. “Two nights ago , my wife and I dined at Al Shallal, a Lebanese family owned and operated restaurant. We were warmly greeted by hostess/server Nourhan and offered menus. My wife ordered an absolutely delicious falafel plate that was accompanied by a marvelous tahini sauce and rice. I chose the perfectly spiced and prepared mixed grill (beef kabob, chicken tawook and beef kafta served with a pungent garlic sauce and rice. Our order included, as a prelude, a choice of salad or soup. We opted for the homemade (all items we ordered were made from scratch) chicken lemon soup: shredded chicken, and rice in a deeply flavorful lemony chicken broth (yum). Our servings were generously portioned and absolutely scrumptious. Following the meal, we ordered homemade, once again, baklava and a small pot of a cardamom infused Lebanese coffee. Food heaven. Nourhan was an absolutely wonderful server (daughter of the owners who were the chefs). We have dined at many Lebanese, Iraqi and Iranian restaurants. Al Shallal, in Dearborn Heights , Michigan ranks at the very top for quality, price, taste, presentation, authenticity and service. Thank you Nourhan and family.”
