“Made Friday night reservations 2 weeks ahead for a table (you can sit at the bar too with reservations). Free parking literally right in front was a huge win for a busy evening. We were on time and waited just a few minutes, which actually worked out because the open kitchen smells and those flames totally pulled us in. Super warm, cozy vibe and the space looks just as good inside as it does from the outside. Once we sat down in the cozy chair/table setup, we kicked things off with drinks and ordered apps and mains all at once. Everything came out fast and hot. The mussels, beef tartare, and tuna tartare were all flavorful, and just really well done. The only letdown was the Pollo that looked great but really needed more seasoning (& onions lol) to match the rest of the menu. Service was friendly & fantastic. Overall, it was an awesome family night out and a spot we’d happily come back to. 5/5.”

“Tried this place for the first time today! Rider was my server and he was absolutely amazing. Knowledgeable funny and sweet. Genuinely had such a good time just being in his presence and he was very attentive! Tried the flaming fig, although without the jam. Didn't personally find it too spicy without the jam, although my friend found it slightly spicy with the jam. Either way it was the most delicious grilled cheese ever. Great wine selection, and don't be afraid to try the espresso drink made with blood orange soda, it was very good! On the store side of things, there was a great selection of product and the service was great. Will definitely tell as many people as possible about this place and will come again!”

Apparently, our stay of about 3 hours eating and drinking was excessive. We may not be back.”

“A Fantastic Start to the New Year!

What a wonderful way to kick off the new year with a great event! It was my first time trying Polish cuisine, and I loved every bite. Every dish was made from scratch and full of authentic flavors — truly a treat.

The restaurant itself is beautiful — the long mural, the decorations, everything has a charming, native touch that makes the space feel special. The upstairs area was a lot of fun, and the Polish vodka and DJ music added a lively, festive touch to the atmosphere.

There is also convenient parking near the restaurant, which made the visit even better. I can’t wait to come back!”

“This place was incredible. We are from out of town, and it’s so good that I would drive back here to eat again. My husband said it’s the best pizza he’s ever had, and I AGREE!! It was so good we came back!!! We ordered SIX different pizzas and they were all DELICIOUS. And the fries tasted like heaven! Good salad too!!! “If you’re in Detroit and looking for an unforgettable meal, I can’t recommend Lena enough. The food was absolutely excellent from start to finish — the carrots and sweet potatoes were especially memorable (seriously, don’t skip them!). Every dish felt thoughtful, beautifully prepared, and packed with flavor.

The staff is just as wonderful as the food — warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. If you can, try to get a table by the kitchen. It adds such a fun, energetic vibe to the experience. And if you get a chance, say “hi” to Bella!

Great rewards program gives discounts and points often. The interior is fun but this store is a bit dark on the interior making it hard to read menus. Service is friendly and standard for service these days. Easy online ordering and pickup. Overall great if your looking for more American-styled Mexican food with punchy flavors.”

“Two nights ago , my wife and I dined at Al Shallal, a Lebanese family owned and operated restaurant. We were warmly greeted by hostess/server Nourhan and offered menus. My wife ordered an absolutely delicious falafel plate that was accompanied by a marvelous tahini sauce and rice. I chose the perfectly spiced and prepared mixed grill (beef kabob, chicken tawook and beef kafta served with a pungent garlic sauce and rice. Our order included, as a prelude, a choice of salad or soup. We opted for the homemade (all items we ordered were made from scratch) chicken lemon soup: shredded chicken, and rice in a deeply flavorful lemony chicken broth (yum). Our servings were generously portioned and absolutely scrumptious. Following the meal, we ordered homemade, once again, baklava and a small pot of a cardamom infused Lebanese coffee. Food heaven. Nourhan was an absolutely wonderful server (daughter of the owners who were the chefs). We have dined at many Lebanese, Iraqi and Iranian restaurants. Al Shallal, in Dearborn Heights , Michigan ranks at the very top for quality, price, taste, presentation, authenticity and service. Thank you Nourhan and family.”

“Stopped here before a concert at LCA last night - obviously busy, but wait wasn’t bad at all and we were able to get a drink at the bar and wait outside. I wish I could remember our servers name, but she was absolutely stellar! She was super friendly, funny and quick despite having a large section on a busy night. Got the shrimp tacos (AMAZING and filling - has a perfect amount of “kick”) and my husband got the hot chicken sandwich (the one small bite I was allowed was phenomenal) overall 10/10 experience!”
