“From the moment we arrived, our experience was nothing short of amazing. The food was outstanding—every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was warm, friendly, and fun, making it the kind of place where you immediately feel comfortable and welcome. On top of that, the location is fantastic, with plenty of activities nearby to enjoy before or after your meal, which really added to the overall experience. The highlight of our visit, however, was our waitress, Ashley W. She went above and beyond in every way. Ashley anticipated our every need before we even had to ask, showing an attentiveness that is rare to find. She was friendly, personable, and very knowledgeable about the menu, which made ordering so much easier and more enjoyable. Her positive energy and genuine care turned what was already a great dining experience into something truly memorable. Ashley is, without a doubt, the main reason my family and I plan to return. Her service left such a lasting impression on us that we would gladly make the trip back to Michigan just to eat here again. It is rare to come across someone who takes so much pride in their work and makes every guest feel special, but Ashley did exactly that. She is an absolute asset to this restaurant, and we cannot thank her enough for making our visit exceptional.“

“The price of the bill vs the food taste didn’t add up. The food wasn’t seasoned, the Mac and cheese was meh, and the yams and greens tasted like something you’d find pre maid. The fried chicken had zero seasonings on it. The only thing good was the fried fish. Service was great and the atmosphere was good as well. But I wouldn’t go here again.“

“Best soul food Downriver! We usually just get their wings, macaroni, and greens. So good. Customer service is great as well. I've ordered from them multiple times and never had a problem. The only thing I hate is their inconsistent and tough hours, but I understand it's probably a small business thing they have to deal with.“

“As soon as I got out of my car, the smell of delicious food assaulted my nose. I was hoping the food was as good as it smelled. I was not disappointed. Even though the food was basic, everything was seasoned just right & that made the difference. The jerk wings were not jerk to me, but had a nice smokey flavor. The mac & cheese did not look that great & I wish it had been baked longer, but was still tasteful. I prefer fresh green beans these days, but theirs was the old school kind with potatoes & again, seasoned just right. The cornbread was sweet if you like a Jiffy box flavor. The wait time was a standard 15 minutes. The decor is very old & outdated, but there are a few tables if you'd like to eat inside or wait for your food. I drove over 30 minutes to try their food and If I'm ever in the area again, I'd return.“

“I recommend the chicken, ribs, yams and Mac…. Even the koolaid was freaking amazing! I’m a very indecisive person and when I walked in, I couldn’t choose, so I just ordered everything I knew I’d eventually eat. One rib dinner is def enough for two meals. The wing dings were amazing too! And it travels well. Lord knows that delivery man was very easy on the eyes! Fast, fresh, friendly, SEASONED, authentic food for the soul! Perfect way to end a spa day!“

“Looking for great soul food this is the place one plate seems as if it can feed four people and it's the home cooked taste for me every thing is plentiful two sides and cornbread they have a variety of food to ox tales mashed potatoes brown gravy smothered chops baked Mac and cheese greens oh my and they seasoned the food just right I been looking for a place like this I'm from Detroit but I been south for years now wanting some wholesome food and this place is it I highly recommend you try them out and knobody can beat there prices great service to“

“The food was damn good and well worth the price I will be checking this place out again the ghetto Burger was good it really didn't stand out from any other Burger but it was still good the cheesecake dessert was the only thing I did not like and honestly it didn't even taste like cheesecake was more like Frozen cake so I'll pass on the dessert but everything else that I had was damn good.“

“Stopped in today with several coworkers and took advantage of the $10 lunch special. Brisket sandwich and fries. Fries were pretty good but the brisket sandwich is what will bring me back. “listen the first time I came here I didn’t even get nothing I was just with my cousin doing a doordash order with her , was just picking up somebody order but something told me that I need to come back and eat from here. So yesterday and today I finally order some food from here and man when I tell you it is so good! I’ve never tasted Mac n cheese that actually tasted good from a restaurant , no matter where I went Mac n cheese would only always taste better at home. But this place? Oh yeah they got it down PACK the best Mac n cheese I done had from a restaurant and them lamb chops is so so good.“
