38 Best Indian Restaurants near Livonia

“The food was amazing! The staff was kind and quick to deliver food. There were so many dessert options! Everything was delicious!“

“The phrase is overused, but this spot is a real, actual hidden gem.

Food is made from scratch and well worth the wait. I had the Lamb Biryani spiced to medium heat.

I couldn't identify the chutneys on the side, but the balance between spice (medium heat requested, but still quite strong without chutney) and the darker chutney (tamarind??) was exquisite. Portion size was generous.“

“I've tried easily over 2 dozen Indian restaurants in southeast Michigan and this one is hands down the very best by far!!“

“This was our first time visiting and it was a great time, Ray was excellent with his commitment to excellence, his food and seasoning are on point. We had the Tikka Masala and Chicken Vindalu as well Mix Starter which was an excellent appetizer. We want to thank Scott from Detroit Food Review for showing this restaurant on his YouTube Channel. A+++++++“

“5 Stars – An Unforgettable Culinary Experience at Chennai Express Restaurant! 🌟 I recently dined at Chennai Express Restaurant, and I can confidently say it was one of the best Indian cuisine experiences I've ever had. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the warm hospitality and personalized care from both the chef and the staff. They made me feel genuinely welcomed and went above and beyond to tailor the meal to my preferences. The food was absolutely outstanding – freshly prepared, bursting with authentic flavors, and presented beautifully. Every dish I tried was a delight: Vegetable Kothu Parotta: Perfectly spiced and packed with flavor – a true comfort dish done right. Rava Masala Dhosai & Masala Dhosai: Crispy, flavorful, and served with a variety of chutneys and sambar that were simply addictive. Fish Curry: Rich, aromatic, and deeply satisfying. The balance of spices and the freshness of the fish were spot-on. What truly set this place apart was the customized attention and care from the chef, who ensured every dish matched our taste preferences. It's rare to see such dedication and pride in delivering a top-notch dining experience. If you’re looking for authentic South Indian cuisine with exceptional service, Chennai Express Restaurant is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be returning – and bringing friends along next time!“

Both dishes were very good, the atmosphere seemed really fancy and we just stopped in on lunch from work so I felt under dressed, the food was amazing great flavor profiles and aroma from the spices thanks again“

“I’ve been going to this restaurant for the past 15 years and I absolutely LOVE it. It’s literally my happy place. They treat me feel like family whenever I go which is quite often honestly ☺️.“

“We visited from Austin, Texas. The food was awesome. The chicken mandi and fish Biriyani was great.
Great Service and suggestions by the service team. Will definitely come again when we visit Michigan again.
Thanks to the Service team!!“

“Their biryani and grilled items are really yummy. You have to plan ahead with them - sometimes you’ll call for carry out and they’ll say you have to wait a couple hours because they have large catering order(s). Also, I wouldn’t recommend bringing large family groups to dine in, they’re more appropriate for carry out and catering only.“

“I went to Andhra Cafe last week for the first time and LOVED it! The staff is friendly and the restaurant is clean. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced. I had the chicken Tikka masala and it was so good that I ordered a butter chicken to go so I could try it the next day. They also have a buffet that I'll be back to try another day.“

“Very delicious food taste is so great“

“First time trying, great food and flavor. Will definitely be back!“

“My Wife and I were in town and stumbled on this place. The staff was friendly and the food was absolutely outstanding! I had the lamb curry (hot), and it did not disappoint. The lamb was so tender. All the flavors were fresh, and well done. I don't get a lot of lamb where I live, so I usually opt for it when I can. This was some of the best lamb I have ever had. Zero complaints on the food or staff. The place looked clean. The bathroom wasn't great, but that's okay. I didn't go there for that anyhow. There was next to no wait on the food. As soon as it was done, it was on our table. So, the food was hot and fresh.“

“07/04 : Ordered Chicken Mandi and Satti Babu Chicken Pulao.

Just amazing ! Kudos to the chef brining in the right flavors. Food didn’t feel greasy (right amount of oil). The quality was right on for one person Mandi ! And the pickup time was super quick. I remember sitting in a restaurant and waiting for 30 mins and didn’t get it! You guys aced the time as well.

Keep it rocking ! Will come back soon.“

“I’ve been going to Masala in Novi for several years. Large and diverse menu that they really deliver on. (Many places fall flat: too many items to manage well. Not so here.) The South Lyon location is the star: bigger, nicer, albeit still a fast casual design. The good news is that this location is now doing specials each weekend. And they nail it. My knowledge of Indian cuisine is reasonably good but virtually everything on the special menu was new to me. What a discovery. Jenn and I will definitely be going back for more of those. Highly recommended.“

“Great place for delicious fresh food, the lahori fish and tikkas were delicious as was the daal and karahi, and best of all everything came piping hot. You can’t go to a place with better service, the family is so nice.
Not to be missed!
Ps. Fresh hot naan - unbeatable!!!“

“EXCELENTE TODO ! la atención y predisposición de Christophes.. El lugar es precioso y lo que pedimos exquisito.“

“BEST Indian food, period! Love, love, love this place!!!“

“Great food, welcoming and hardworking staff. 10/10 would recommend 👌“

“🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰“

“I swing by every Monday and grab a couple of the $1 halal pepperoni slices. Pizza is tasty and I’ve made it a tradition to swing by every week. The staff are always very friendly too!

I do wish they’d sell more than two per person so I can feed the rest of my family without hauling everyone there (or offer online ordering). A $6-$7 pie on Mondays to compete with Hot n Ready’s would be awesome!

Otherwise, I’ll continue to grab these slices as long as they’re offering them!“

“Chicken Tikka pizza ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“

“The food was incredible. The staff were super friendly and service was quick. There’s a really nice sports bar attached where you can also order food and have a cute cocktail. Absolutely incredible, I can’t wait to be back. Thanks for bringing smiles and deliciousness to my mom for her birthday!“

“Stumbled into this place on accident due to the fact that another restaurant I was interested in on this street was closed permanently. It was easily the best detour I have ever mad hahaha. Seriously some of the best food I have ever had. The Chicken Tikka Malai & the Hariyali Paneer Tikka are superior. My waitress was amazing too. Go eat here!!!“

“We are extremely grateful to Kishan and the entire staff at Krishna Catering for the incredible food and service provided during our daughter's wedding and events. Krishna Catering made the wedding of Sonia & Chris unforgettable with their exceptional culinary expertise. Krishna Catering provided high quality food for multiple events over a three-day period, and every dish was beautifully presented and delicious. Our guests were extremely impressed by the amazing cuisine which left a positive lasting impression on everyone. Kishan's attention to detail and dedication to high-quality food was evident at every event. With his personal touch, he significantly enhanced our celebrations, and we are grateful to have Kishan and his team by our side. We would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for fantastic service and remarkable, authentic Indian dishes. -Dipak & Ginni Doshi“

“I have visited the place a few times in 2016-17. If you are vegetarian you will love the food.. and real flavours of home cooked food, both buffet and dinner. My recent personal favorites are broccoli cutlets and Zucchini bhajiya in lunch buffets. You just need to be on time :) late buffet and last dining both are patch up and I have no complaints :) people must be on time to taste the actual delicacy of Chutneys.“
