“Got the Chicken Pad Thai..With extra chicken and egg along with 3 spring rolls. Was a little pricey, probably because I had them add extra but I like it that way. Nice spice level, medium + is where I tend to like it. Food was ready as soon as I go there. Was hot and delicious.“

“Booked it for a colleague's leaving lunch and the team handled twelve of us without breaking a sweat. Food came out together and was great across the board. “Came in for lunch (they gave me a delicious cup of soup with my food too!) and left beyond satisfied and full, with leftovers for lunch tomorrow. I had the Gang Gai but swapped out the bell peppers. Crab rangoons were so crispy and good! Loved everything and will definitely be back. Lanna, the owner was my server and she was so sweet.“

“We've been coming to this establishment since it opened sometime around 2001. Thai Orchid is hands-down the best Thai food in Metro-Detroit. A close second is Sala Thai in Detroit. If you know, you know... Highly recommend Thai Orchid. 5 stars. Flavor and service are top-notch. Portions are enormous.“

“I have hit every Thai establishment in southeast Detroit and this is my go to atleast once a week. The food is always second to none. If I had to rank my top three meals, their Udon noodles, Curry Noodles, and Drunken noodles. My wife would argue Green Curry needs to be up there. Great food and ran by a great family!“

“Best sweet and sour sauce. The grilled vegetables and “authentic” sauce make it unique. Sauce is NOT the high fructose corn syrup that Chinese/ Cantonese restaurants tend to use.“

“The staff are really nice. Friendly, easy to talk to, jovial even. We talked hot sauces for a few minutes while waiting for my order.
The menu is quite expansive, well-organized, with solid descriptions. Numbers provided in case you can't or don't want to try pronouncing the dish names. I certainly understand.
I finally decided to go with a favorite for my order, Vegetable Curry w/Shrimp, extra hot 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶
The spice level is accurate. I love hot food. But I ordered the Extra Hot - based on other restaurants levels - and wished I'd stuck with simply hot. For those who really want to push the 🔥, I was informed they had ghost peppers available for your dining pleasure. You're an adult, make good decisions.
My only complaint: one of the veggies, eggplant, I believe, was overcooked and quite soft, almost mushy. Flavor was delicious, spice level as expected. The quantity was very good and the price terrific.
I'll definitely return, there are too many offerings that I need to check out. I'll likely return to the review & tweak it as necessary.“

With heat levels from mild to 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶, everyone's heat level will be satisfied.
My favorite, Pad Ped with chicken was absolutely delicious. The vegetables were grilled and flavored with just the right level of red curry. 😋
You must try the spring rolls as well.
The price points for both lunch and dinner meals are very reasonable.

“I cannot recommend this place enough!! My family has been dining at this very restaurant since I was little. They’ve always been great to us and have the BEST Thai food I’ve ever had. I now live around 40 minutes away and still make the trip back just to eat here. Always order the Bangkok chicken, Pad Thai, and soup.
I remember they used to have an older gentleman that would cook in the back and he was a bit more heavy handed on the spice so if we saw him we would always order mild lol. We’ve had many memories tied to this place and I will continue to make many more.“

“What a gem!! This place is amazing for its food service and everything in between. We were a part of 4 during relatively high foot traffic and got great service. My mom is vegetarian so there was ample choices for her and she really enjoyed her food from Tom yum soup to vegetable tempura, spring rolls and veggie rolls. The presentation was great as well and the servers were very kind. The restrooms were clean. The only thing was that they added the 18% tip to our bill and there was an expectation to add more, which I did not appreciate. I didn’t mind the 18% as the service was good. Definitely recommend and I will be back here again!!“

“I've ordered carry-out from May Hong before and it's always been amazing. It's ready when I've walked through the door and piping hot, plus tasty. A personal favorite is the Sesame Chicken. Egg rolls are also delicious!
However, a friend and I decided to dine in two weekends ago. There may have been a rush before us that had just left, but there was only a single clean table available, and one staff person handling all the orders and cleaning.
We ordered, and I waited half an hour--no exaggeration--for a bubble tea. I decided to try something new that night, the honey chicken. No real taste of honey to be found. Stick with the Sesame or Sweet & Sour Chicken since you can't go wrong with those.
Also, the booths? A group of people left behind me and new people came in. Every time someone moves behind you, you can feel it and it's quite jarring when you're trying to eat.
The staff person we dealt with tried her hardest, and she was very, very nice, just severely overworked.
May Hong is still worth ordering from for the food, but keep it to carry-out. Dining in isn't the best experience.“

The pork stir-fry was packed with flavor—juicy, well-seasoned pork with a perfect balance of sweet and savory.
Then came the soup—warm, comforting, and rich in umami.
Together, these two dishes made for a seriously satisfying meal. If you’re craving something hearty but not too heavy, this combo is a solid choice.

“We decided to order food from Thai Tanic for delivery tonight. I got the simple fried rice with chicken, my husband got pineapple fried rice with pork. It was delicious! My husband loved how the pork was prepared. We both learned we need to order a spice level down from normal here, but that's okay! We will know for next time :)“
