“I lived close to the Thai Inn for many years and ordered carry out all the time. Now whenever I am in the area during lunch time, I will stop by and have lunch there. We also order carry out there even so we live about 20 min away.
The food is fantastic. Best Thai food in the Metro Detroit area.“

“I first stopped here because I was on my way to Detroit and desperately needed to use a rest room! The interior blew me away how beautifully decorated it was. It’s a small space but the service was extremely friendly! I’d say it’s upscale Thai. Their Thai cold coffee is delicious! 🤤 it’s honestly one of the best ambiances I’ve had in a restaraunt even though it’s small. My only complaint is they did not ask what spice level we wanted our dishes to be (which is strange) so my friend and my food was a bit spicy to share with our kids. I’d definitely go back tho. Can’t get over how adorable they did with the interior decorating and attention to detail with the food and space! “We recently ordered takeout from Penn’s Thai Cafe under its new ownership, and WOW, what a treat!

We’ve been fans of the chef owner’s cooking for a long time, so when they opened their own restaurant, we couldn’t wait to try it. You can truly taste the passion and authenticity in every dish.

The pad prick nor mai made with fresh bamboo, was a standout and something rarely found at this level outside of Thailand. We also had the kra pow moo grob (crispy pork basil stir fry) which was perfectly balanced - crispy, savory, and packed with flavor. Their pad Thai was excellent as well, with a rich depth of flavor and tanginess that sets it apart from the usual.

For appetizers, the minced pork bun with egg and the crab rangoon were a delightful surprise. They were comforting, flavorful, and a great way to start the meal. We didn’t get a chance to try their newest dessert, i-Tim Kati (coconut ice cream), but it is definitely on our list for next time!

“The new owners have improved the interior and it is now open on weekends, which is nice. They now encourage you to use an app instead of calling in orders, which charges an extra fee. Also, they removed the one item I've always ordered (since 2012) and liked most - Pad Prik, so I've mostly stopped going here.“

“Great Thai food, friendly service, in a little mini mall torn straight from the early 1980s. As far as I can tell, this is pretty authentic (though I'm not Thai, so take that with a big grain of salt). Provides a decent amount of spice, great flavors! They've got a good vegetarian selection.“

“What a gem!! This place is amazing for its food service and everything in between. We were a part of 4 during relatively high foot traffic and got great service. My mom is vegetarian so there was ample choices for her and she really enjoyed her food from Tom yum soup to vegetable tempura, spring rolls and veggie rolls. The presentation was great as well and the servers were very kind. The restrooms were clean. The only thing was that they added the 18% tip to our bill and there was an expectation to add more, which I did not appreciate. I didn’t mind the 18% as the service was good. Definitely recommend and I will be back here again!!“

“If I could give 10 stars I would! My family and I haven’t been this pleased in a take out order in a very long time and every single one of us LOVED our dishes! I got the Pho with extra rare steak (with an extremely generous portion of steak) I got the crunchy Cornish hen dish for my husband and sons and it was delicious and there were no leftovers at all, it was soo good! Mrs. Ho whom I spoke with over the phone was so polite and took specific detail to order when I asked for extra sauces and sides. We’ll be ordering regularly. Thank for a great dinner!“
