Initial plan was to try The Cozy Egg in Mattawan but their waitress was not pleasant and after barking at us and the customer behind us for leaving the door open too long (being a gentlemen and opening the door for us) we left. Glad we gave Nanny’s our business & will be back!“

“I recently visited Ted & Marie's Colonial Inn Restaurant in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The ambiance was that of a classic diner, and the restaurant was clean and well-maintained. My server was very nice and efficient, taking my order promptly. I opted for the Colonial Club, a ham club sandwich, with a side of fries. The sandwich was delicious, especially the ham. The crinkle-cut fries were also a hit. Overall, the food was good and reasonably priced. However, I did find the menu to be somewhat limited, lacking some diner staples like open-faced sandwiches. Despite this, I would go back again.“

The bourbon bowl with shrimp was a great choice, not too heavy on the sauce, and tasted very fresh. Pizza was also great and had a good amount of sauce on it. She was making drinks for everyone at the bar as well those who were seated at tables in the bar and dining room. Michaela certainly knows how to make a great drink, too. “You were a first suggestion from a local hotel. We went with it and boy were we glad we did! First thing noticed was the delicate yet beautiful land scape. Upon entering we were greeted with many “good mornings” :) it felt good. The colors of the establishment really make you feel welcomed. It was not hectic or crazy or loud yet the machine was working so beautifully. Our waiter was incredibly kind and on top of the coffee refills! The food….. my goodness how can we forget that…. I mean y’all are a restaurant right!! I swear it felt like I was reviewing something for better homes and gardens…. The food was priced well below average I’d say. “MY GOODNESS!! ❤️❤️❤️ I just had a most delicious meal from The Ample Pantry. The vegetarian lasagna was AMAZING. The string beans were cooked and seasoned to perfection. The herb dinner roll complemented the meal well. The blueberry pie- I’m still working on that now- but my 1st bite was delightful. The salad dressing selection was very nice and the entire presentation felt warmly packaged in a grandmother’s kitchen. The most impressive thing to note, is that The Ample Pantry has not lost its touch. Being native of Kalamazoo, I used to order Ample Pantry for committee meetings many years ago. It’s so great to know that the new owners care about the community enough to keep the heart in the kitchen and with its customers. Beautiful job Ample Pantry!! ??????There was love in this food!“
