“My family has ordered from New China Gourmet for almost 20 years and it has never disappointed. The owners have always been so friendly and really take pride in serving the best quality Chinese food in the area with generous portions and reasonable prices. The vegetable fried rice and almond boneless chicken are my go-to entrees and the crab Rangoon are my ABSOLUTE favorite.. I am a crab Rangoon snob so I don’t say that lightly.
They stopped doing dine-in service after Covid and are only carry out, but the space is very organized for to go orders and the kitchen alway looks to be kept clean, even during a rush.
We recently ordered for Christmas Day, which has become a tradition for us! We ordered our food around 2 PM to have it ready for 4 PM because you definitely want to order ahead on those expected high volume holidays. The timing worked out perfectly and our order was hot, ready on time and absolutely delicious!
This time I tried shrimp and broccoli for the first time and was a little surprised when the sauce was a clear, whitish color with more cabbage/onions than broccoli. I had seen a picture online that showed it to be a brownish sauce and just broccoli. It’s possible that the review I saw was a special order, and I would’ve preferred the darker sauce but overall it was still a yummy dish!“

“If you’re looking for a Chinese restaurant that serves excellent food and offers friendly, welcoming service, New China King is the place to go. I called in my order, and it was ready in just 25 minutes, quick and convenient. The prices are very reasonable, and the staff was polite and made me feel welcome from start to finish. Overall, I gave this place a well-deserved 5 stars for the great food, efficient service, and warm atmosphere“

“They shut down the dining in and have carryout only. Almond boneless chicken was good, shrimp rings were great. Only gave them a 4 star rating due to the pork fried rice, wasn't much than just brown rice with a couple tiny pieces of pork . Wonton was also good. I ordered 5 dinners and 2 quarts of soup. They had it ready in 15 minutes and the order wasn't missing anything, prices were also reasonable.“

“Great Wall\n\nAug 29, 2025\nDecided to try this place out. This place also had good reviews. Here goes the test.\n\nThey are still in the Covid phase. No dine in. Still have take out available. The walls and face shields are still up. Not as busy as Leong's 23 Chinese Restaurant at lunch. I was the only guest getting take out. The location is pretty far out east too. Prices are a little more than Leong's 23 Chinese Restaurant. Fast service. No issues. They speak decent english.\n\nThe taste. I ordered the schwean/szechuan chicken combo. Tasted good. Slightly different than Leong's 23 Chinese Restaurant. I can tell they used garlic pepper for the schwean/szechuan chicken. Not necessary for this dish. Good eggrolls. Same dipping sauce but a little on the sour side. Needs a little water to fix taste. The combo plate had less food than expected.\n\nAll in all both this place and Leong's 23 Chinese Restaurant make good chinese food. Try one, or try both. Both are good enough for my taste. Trust me, these two places are above average. Other places I've been to have been worse.\n\n*****I've lived in Saginaw for about 20 years of my life and we make some good Chinese food. I've had the best Chinese food. Bar none. I've been a dishwasher for a good Chinese restaurant, waiter, and a cook. I know my menu and how each dish should taste. I'm an Asian restaurant guy and a major Chinese food cook and critic. I was raised on Chinese food. I worked at many different Chinese restaurant. My uncles own about 10-20 Chinese restaurant in upper Michigan.*****\n\nHighly recommended“

“Was my first time getting something here and I'm glad I did. The woman that owns the place is awesome and the food was amazing and they had our food done in a matter of minutes while we waited. I will definitely be back. And I love the bag they gave us to keep the food warm and it's reusable“

“Lyrics the manager in the kitchen was so nice and welcoming to me when I went to go eat she answered all my questions patiently made me feel like I wasn’t rushing helped me pick the food I wanted and it was great. She then told me that she cooked it And I couldn’t be happier with the food and lyrics.“

“The food here was very good, and the waitresses were incredibly fast—honestly, they were moving so quickly you almost missed them. However, the experience was a bit mixed. I think we may have had a new cook because he didn't put on much of a show, especially compared to the energy we saw from the other chefs. Others were flipping and spinning things. Not ours tho. We also felt pretty rushed at the end; the staff actually started putting fresh plates and silverware on the table for the next guests before we were even finished eating.“
