“I just got sides, but the other food looked good. The sides that I ordered were good (mac, greens, and yams). The person that assisted me was pleasant.
The only kinda issue was the place and the price. The store was very warm and muggy, and the price for the size of the sides were a little high in my opinion. But those are usually the places that have good food...js.“

“The food here is great. This was our 1st time here. We were here all the way from Wisconsin for an event and i asked who got the best soul food in town and was told to stop by Cornbread. Amazing food, and service, and the place was clean. The Staff went above the call of duty. Ms. Donya if you see this, you are a JEWEL! This lady was right on time with everything. We visited the restaurant on Friday upon arrival to Michigan and was the first customers on Sunday 11:30AM as we were leaving from Michigan to return home. Go here, you will not be disappointed. “From the moment we arrived, our experience was nothing short of amazing. The food was outstanding—every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was warm, friendly, and fun, making it the kind of place where you immediately feel comfortable and welcome. On top of that, the location is fantastic, with plenty of activities nearby to enjoy before or after your meal, which really added to the overall experience. The highlight of our visit, however, was our waitress, Ashley W. She went above and beyond in every way. “We really enjoyed our visit to SavannahBlue! Most of our party came from Lansing and it was worth the drive!

Definitely going back again for date night or something! I booked a table to celebrate my mom’s and my husband’s birthdays! From the reservations, to the food, drinks, and service, everything was great! I should have taken pictures of everyone’s food but we were ready to eat!

They even brought our cookie skillets for the birthday man and lady! Monet (I hope that’s the correct spelling) handled our table and she was so amazing!

The only cons were the stair situation and the payment policy for a part of 10 or more which they do notify you of when making a reservation. We made it work but it just wasn’t favorable!

The pictures are mine and my husband’s meals, but I also tasted the catfish, yams, Mac and cheese, risotto, greens, Parmesan grits, and one of my favs the Crab Dip omg! 😍😍😍 I can’t wait to go back!“

“I went to Velle's Grille yesterday for dinner in the hope of supporting a black owned business. I have no regrets. I had the Turkey Chops with Mac & cheese, collard greens and a side of yams. Good portion sizes. Everything was hot and seasoned perfectly. My meal was delicious. My husband had chicken wings with baked beans and macaroni. He also ordered a burger. He says the burger was delicious and the sides were on point. He woke up and ate the chicken for breakfast and he says we gotta go back lol. Overall we are definitely giving this place another chance.“

“Detroit soul is possibly the best meal from start to finish I've had in years. Walking in you notice how delicious everything smells, how clean everything is and how friendly everyone who works here is. The food is top notch. The breadding on the catfish fritters made my mouth water, the greens made me want to write home, the mac and cheese was perfectly cooked and the meatloaf was so tender and tasty. Then the dessert! Peach cobbler that made me make obscene noises, the creamy vanilla scoop and the amazing red pop sorbet were bursting with flavorful perfection. I highly recommend going here and trying everything.“

Nobody in Detroit makes Salmon croquets served with rice and gravy 😋 (my preference over grits)👌with scrambled eggs as good as J's does. “This is a family owned resturant in Highland Park. The food is fresh and made to order. The service is welcoming and feeling your being serviced by a member of your family. There is no indoor seating but when the weather is nice the small outdoor seating space is very nice. Highly Recommend. 😀“
