New American Restaurants in Troy, MI

“Although had reservations and checked in early still had to wait to be seated. Hostess stated a few tables had been there 3+ hours. When extremely busy there should be a max time cap. Similar to when Covid was around. Many establishments had time limits. Also feel on a Saturday evening should be adults only. Some of the children noise was too loud. I wear hearing aids and still had a difficult time hearing my own table with the elevated noise. Otherwise everything else was great.“

“Our server Jaylen was great and extremwly knowledgable. Jaylen ensured our needs were met. Thr manager, Alan, came by as we were eating and was also very attentive. The salted caramel cheese cake was the cherry on top of an already great experience.“

“Love this restaurant! We travel from Windsor Ontario to eat here because of the great food and drink. However the best part of Troy Yard House is the staff. Namely Sara who works the bar. She is simply amazing. I marvel at how she commands the bar yet encages with each of her customers. We have been here several times and attend based on Sar's schedule. We truly appreciate her as well the other staff who make this a GREAT place to be!“

“My wife and Enjoy the customer service every time I hate I don’t remember our waitress name she was awesome, she knew the menu, she came over to us every time on time, she was great! This is my wife’s favorite she love the Ribeyes well done, Ocean Prime never miss with her stakes. That olive oil truffle popcorn should Be sold in stores, I never had popcorn this good ever and it’s to live for!!!“

“We had a large group of ladies come in for dinner. It took us about an hour to get seated on a Saturday since they dont take reservations. We had a few bumps in the night but Brandon took great care of us. I believe he was the manager. Our appetizers were great (calamari and crab cake). The bread (or donut as we called it) was delicious!! Our entrees however were less than desirable. Pictured is my crab cake entree with a side of smoked Gouda Mac & Cheese. The mac was terrible (unseasoned and the noodles were hard) 😢 I left the full side almost completely untouched on my plate. My friend's broccoli had a hair in it, which they promptly remade. Someone else's steak tasted like cinnamon as she described it and was tough for the cut of steak. The drinks were 10/10 (shout-out to the bartender). I had a lemon drop mojito *chef's kiss* And the creme brulee was delicious as well. Overall, I would return but simply for drinks and apps!“

“Service was great. Nice little restaurant. It was a bit too hot out to enjoy the patio. But would Definitely be worth a trip during the summer.

Ordered the bake cheese dip to start. Really enjoyed it. Goes really good with the toasted baguettes.

Full menu of options for drinks. No frozen drinks tho. They do not have a blender. They carry Faygo pop and that was a real treat.

Ordered the chicken Caesar salad. If I had known that, the salad came premixed I would’ve asked for the salad dressing on the side. It turned the Romain lettuce, soggy quickly. Couldn't take the left overs. Dressing was on the bitter side.

Also, tried the fire bird sandwich. Bun gave it good texture. Not a fan of the topping choices. Didn’t go well with the cheese and sauce.

I was excepting a little more from the menu. Smaller menu. Will be back.“

“My family has eaten here several times. Service has always been exceptional. You came to my rescue when our Thanksgiving plans fell through and my out of town guests needed a place to have dinner. Your take-out saved the day and the food was good and plentiful. Thank you for being there for us. We all enjoyed a great dinner and know we can count on your pleasant service in the future.“

“The food here is always phenomenal. The tender is the right amount of tender and juicy. Though, my favorite part of coming to Houston is the service. Every time I come Sean and Trey (I think is how it’s spelt) treat me with nothing but love and kindness. Even when I came right before closing time, I saw both of them beaming and they treated me like a brother, much love to both of them ❤️. I would recommend this place because of the service alone.“

“We order our burgers medium-rare, but they don't always show up medium-rare. In this case, the steakburger was perfectly medium-rare, juicy & flavorful. The skinny fries were a disappointment to both of us - rather dry & lukewarm. I stuck with a rating of 5 inspire of the fries, because the burger was so good, as was the warm carrot cake. Also, our server, Steven (sp?), was delightful. It was rather loud, due, I think, to all the people, but we appreciated that they didn't blast music. We were so disappointed that the towering ice cream cake is only available in the summer. Can hardly wait until June! (Except for the heat.) We'll be back.“

“I recently hosted my second special event at the Somerset Inn, and once again, it was absolutely fabulous! I held my daughter’s wedding shower here two years ago, and just celebrated my other daughter’s baby shower last weekend. Both events were everything I hoped for and more. The food was incredible, fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The buffet was unique and impressed all of our guests. The room setup was perfect, elegant, comfortable, and easy to decorate, which really allowed me to create the look and feel I wanted. Pam, our head server, provided excellent service with such warmth and professionalism. Dave, the manager, checked in several times to make sure everything ran smoothly, and Carrie, my banquet and catering manager was amazing to work with, attentive, organized, and so accommodating. From the ambience to the service to the food, everything was spectacular. I highly recommend the Somerset Inn for any type of event, they truly make every celebration feel special.“

“My daughter and I enjoyed a Mothers Day lunch here together. The food was fresh and tasty. We shared a strawberry salad and hamburger. Kitchen kindly split the entrees for us in back. Nice wine offerings and mimosas. Popovers came out fresh from the oven served with their strawberry butter- yummy!“

“Once you make it past the gauntlet of teens and kids selling packaged snacks at the door, the array of scents at the perfume counter, and shoppers out with their children, you can find on Nordstrom’s 3rd floor a cafe with a view of the other side of the shopping center and the skywalk. Service was good and so was the food, but things get hectic, loud, and slow with an increase of customers. Highly recommend the cheddar chive biscuit warmed.“

“I had lunch recently at California pizza in the Somerset mall , Troy, Mi Deb was our server and she was extremely attentive to our needs , she came up with suggestions in terms o choosing the cheese and the right dressing that paired with the ingredients in the salad. Very pleasant and helpful. Salad was fresh and plentiful, they also serve a delicious complementary bread with olive oil. I’ll frequent that restaurant more often in the future. Thank you DEB for making our first experience in that locale very enjoyable!“
