“We placed a small catering order this past weekend for our son's first birthday party and the morning of the party, half of our guests canceled due to illness. We called in a panic to try and downsize the order and ultimately had to cancel our taco bar. Whomever we talked to was incredibly gracious and understanding but we felt terrible for our change in plans. We had our hearts set on mexican food and were able to still place a pickup order for our remaining guests that afternoon. From burritos, bowls, quesadillas, and guac, our guests enjoyed it very much! The portions were impressive, everything was hot and fresh, and well packaged. “I recently visited Ted & Marie's Colonial Inn Restaurant in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The ambiance was that of a classic diner, and the restaurant was clean and well-maintained. My server was very nice and efficient, taking my order promptly. I opted for the Colonial Club, a ham club sandwich, with a side of fries. The sandwich was delicious, especially the ham. The crinkle-cut fries were also a hit. Overall, the food was good and reasonably priced. However, I did find the menu to be somewhat limited, lacking some diner staples like open-faced sandwiches. Despite this, I would go back again.“

“Panda Dynasty is the best food in the Kalamazoo area. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve always gotten their food on my birthday. I usually get the same thing every time (beef with broccoli, sometimes with egg drop soup and crab rangoon), and whenever I do try something new, I always love that too. It’s always ready quickly, too, even though they make it fresh! If I could give more than five stars, I would.“

I absolutely appreciate the plastic bowls with lids they use for tale out meals versus Styrofoam boxes that spill all of the sauce into the bag at other establishments. “A large, clean & quiet room and a front desk staff that was friendly and helpful. The group we were meeting with reserved a block of rooms, so we had reasonable rates for our stay. We were disappointed the onsite restaurant was closed during the time we were there, which led to some inconvenience as we were traveling with a car trailer and didn't want to drive this through traffic just to get a quick something to eat (hooking & unhooking the thing is a pretty big job, too.) The hotel did have grab & go items in the little shop in the lobby, including breakfast options that could be heated in the microwave. We didn't do this, but saw several people getting things. However, the bar was opened in the evenings and we enjoyed the banter with the bartender, who had some entertaining stories. Great guy. Considering the challenges with COVID and recent uptick in recreational travel, I'm not going to worry about the small things we'd usually expect in a nice hotel of the Sheraton brand, but do need to mention the coffee situation was dismal. We had a couple options - the traditional large urn that seemed like it was made by someone who doesn't drink coffee and the Mars brand version of a k-cup machine in the lobby. The first was unpotable and the second would have been semi-ok if we had another option than powdered creamer. A small complaint perhaps to those who don't rely on the bean to start their day. But to me, this is serious business. Honestly, I'd pay another buck a day to have some half & half at the coffee station. One more reason for the 4-star rating is the shower curtain was stained on the bottom. If it was changed recently and is that water-stained, then it's time to replace it.“

“On Valentine’s Day after a very rough week of parenting we realized we had no dinner plans. Taking two kids out didn’t seem great given we knew most places would be packed. We ordered online on a whim. As our order arrived my phone rang. It was Center St. their food runner missed getting one of our items in the bag and they wanted to make it right. In the end we came up with a plan where we placed a second order for dessert(where they there in my husbands entree) and their manager gave us a gift card covering the cost of the dessert, service fees, and tip for the driver. Their commitment to making it right has encouraged us to add them to our next date night out. They could have just told us to ask for a refund online but instead gave us the choice of that or them making it right. The food was well worth the wait and the dessert we got was phenomenal as well! We truly felt cared for even on a night as crazy as Valentine’s Day.“

“Extremely disappointed! Just stopped at Tiffany’s at 8:15Am on Sunday, walked in the door and restaurant was 1/2 full with no wait! As soon as we walked in manager and 2 staff immediately left to the kitchen with no acknowledgment. 5 min later hostess came to us and said there was a wait in the kitchen of 5-10 min and would not seat us! There were several open tables so why not at least seat us?“
