This is by far the best restaurant in the Grand Rapids area: we ordered the 5 course Chef's menu and each had something different from appetizers through desserts so we could taste all. “We celebrated our 8 year wedding anniversary at one our favorite places. Our server Jacob was amazing! We sat outside on the patio and the atmosphere was great. “Music was a bit loud and cluby, which I thought was weird. We got three courses. The first 2 (grilled prawns and pastas) were 10/10, some of the best food I've had, but the final main dish (pork chop for me) lacked balance. The first few bites were impressive but the richness eventually exhausted my palette. more like an 8.5/10. The food was in general great and very high quality and well thought out. The staff were very nice and the atmosphere felt mostly sophisticated.

Overall, I'm pleased with my experience and would recommend it to anyone looking for elevated Italian food on this side of the Atlantic.“

“My wife went back home to visit her family in Michigan for a couple days and while there she went out for dinner with her college friends to celebrate having our first daughter. She was expecting a great night out with her friends however the staff wouldn’t serve her drinks because they “couldn’t verify she was of age” even though she showed them her ID of 24 years of age. This ruined her night out with friends and forced them to go somewhere else to have an enjoyable night out. Very disappointing with how the staff handled this situation.“

And I'm here to tell you that Alfanos hit all of these with flying colors. Cody and Alex were our bartenders/servers. They were excellent. I had the Chicken picata and it was off the chart with flavor and presentation not to mention a healthy serving. Delicious is all I kept saying. Compliments to the chef!!!!! The pizza's are a thin crust and they come in one size but they have lots of topping options. The pizzas had a good amount of topping. My friends order 1 pizza and when that is delivered they order a second. They have a very good flavor and a good price for the specialty pizzas.“
