“I’m 49…this place was my first job when I was 18 and found out I was gonna be a father…and after all these years Markies in my opinion is the best pizza joint around…everything on the menu is top notch and it’s hard to decide what to order…I highly recommend the Raviolis..the Ribs…the sliders …the Bacon sticks…the Poppers…the wings…and the pizza. The folks that all work there are the best and they always aim to please…I will always be loyal to markies“

“The SE MI Brewery Discovery Tour continues. (I'm done counting, it takes too much effort)
The building used to be a church. I personally love that repurposing. (Once saw a church knocked down to put in a Walmart! ) The layout works great: big U-shaped bar surrounded by 4-seat high-top tables. The all-important stainless steel vessels taking the place of the pulpit & choir. 6 big screens are spread around for the sports oriented. There is a room of the back of the main one with big leather-clad easy chairs & an actual fireplace. So cozy.
The free parking is in the back but you have to enter from the Biergarten which is entered from the corner. So, if you or a compadre are using a wheelchair, get dropped off at the corner.
The beer list is pretty broad, 2 pages, the food menu is of decent size.
Got a Lip Lock Cherry stout followed by a Peach Blonde. The stout was less sweet than expected (based on nothing) but nicely balanced. The peach version of the Dirty Blonde was tasty and refreshing.
Ate an Atwater Brat in-between. The brat was OK. The pretzel bun was good, the toppings (cheese, jalapeños, bacon bits) were good, too. The brat itself was the weak spot, tasted too much like a big hotdog.“

“Can’t say enough good thinks about this place. We stopped in for a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon. We had the Turkey, Bacon and Avocado Sandwich and fries and it was amazing! My husband wanted a soup to go with it. They were all out of the Creamy Wild Mushroom soup and he was real disappointed. But when we went back inside to pick up our order they had made some fresh Mushroom soup for him. And it was better than amazing! What wonderful service! Definitely gained two loyal customers! It was late morning on a March Tuesday. We were a party of six, everyone ordering a different coffee drink. All six were happy with their drinks, including one of our party who works at a (nearly-nationwide) drive thru coffee place.
The atmosphere was chill. There were four or five individuals sitting/working and enjoying their coffees. The shop is larger inside than it initially appears; there's another room beyond the main/entry room with an upright piano and books lining the wall. If anything could be offered as an improvement, it *might* be the addition of a few more cafe tables/chairs in the 'library' room but only because it's such a cool room.
The building has character and history. Photos on the wall and some of the fixtures tell the story.
We'll make it a point to stop in next time we're in (or near!) Hamtramck.“

“Came here with a friend for their holiday flight. I’d never heard of it, but what a hidden gem! The flavors of each coffee were really well done and balanced (not overly sweet!) and I even enjoyed the peppermint mocha which I’m not always the biggest mint fan.
