“even though it was a Friday it was a very slow service and our party showed up at 630 and after we got there only one more party party showed up so it was the end of dinner rush and even after alot of people left we still had slow service i even had to go ask for to go boxes and some of us ordered salads and they brought that out last. but other than that, i love their fried fish”
“Great place for a glass of wine and a gourmet panini. I had the Hale Lake; it is the first Reuben that I've had in a while that wasn't greasy. Great atmosphere, good selection of food and local wines!”
“We recently had a birthday party in the party/meeting room. It was the second year we have done that.Erin provided excellent service for our large group, ensuring that we had all the drinks and food we needed through the evening. The only downside was that there was quite a bit of time from the first pizzas that came out to the last pizzas - It wasn't beyond reason, but seems a little odd as the restaurant wasn't overly busy.I would definitely recommend someone use them for another party or gathering.”
“I went here with coworkers for an after work social meetup, and will say we had an excellent time. I was informed that "they will just throw anything into their beer and advertise it correctly" when I asked a coworker if the "Oyster" beer really meant it had oysters in it. On arrival I ordered the bogo dark beer (menu revealing indeed that the oyster beer was brewed with said shellfish), and made sure that I could come back for the second when paying for the first. They honored this with no question, however when I went for the second, they served the gal in my group who went up to the bar with me right away, then served the entire line of customers (6 or 7 people) that showed up AFTER me before asking me for my order. This was frustrating and I expressed that, but my second beer came moments after I indicated that I was also a paying customer (had I paid after-the-fact this would have reduced their tip, however I was already committed). Kudos to the slightly effeminate bearded guy who took my original order, and not to any of his three coworkers operating the bar after that time. The oyster beer did indeed have a hint of oyster to it, but it wasn't nearly as unique or fishy as I had expected. My second beer was the "Potato Kraut" beer, and it was quite obviously sauerkrauty in a way that added taste and didn't detract from the beer. I had also ordered the Friday special fish and chips dinner (not all-you-can-eat like some locations in town), and it was also north atlantic cod and not in-state walleye like some other places. That being said the Fish was excellent (although one of three pieces was barely a finger in size). The chips are a beer-battered normal fry (not "chip" sized wedges like one expects with fish and chips, which is actually better) and had some cheese, seasoning and chives thrown on top. I opted for the ($10! seems a little excessive but I mean IT IS poor-mans caviar) upgrade for trout roe on top, and there was a measurable amount of orange salty fish eggs mixed in with the "chips". It did not take long for the food to come out, and it was a delicious salty greasy dish, nothing less than I expected, and definitely enhanced a little bit the somewhat disappointing "Oyster" beer. I have never been to a bar where they adequately provide service to random patrons who approach the bar, but the delay in service for my second beer was atrocious enough to discourage me, otherwise this place would have a perfect score.Parking: Giant lot behind the 5 buildings/businesses in the block. Some spots overtaken by folks who are incapable of understanding the size of their vehicle or how parking lines work in a lot.”
“I look forward to going to Grand Rapids just to have dinner here! Great food and great service and its all at a great price! I highly recommend the steak tacos or the steak fajitas!”
“The place to be in Grand Rapids. My wife and I are from the cities and had a weekend away up here and found this awesome spot. We ended up spending most our time here. Coffee and brekky in the morning and great lunch in the afternoon all while taking in the nice vibes.”
“When in Grand Rapids, bring your cooler and pack it full of 'miner hand pies' better known as delicious PASTIES. There's only a handful of places from The UP (of Michigan) over to The Iron Range who not only make and serve delicious Pasties, but have them frozen or freezer ready to go. Please make Pasties Plus a stop on your way. This is a take out and take home place. I recall seeing one small table. So don't bring a group here to eat. Call ahead and order for your group, family or yourself. Then stop in. Take out. And enjoy. PS - I suggest cutting your hot Pastie in half. Partly to let the heat and savory smells out, but also so you can douse one side with ketchup while you taste the other side straight up.”
“If want something different and unique then check it out. My friend Stormy had been there a few times and wanted me to experience it. I wish I would have thought to take photos. We had the Verde soup. Delicious ?. Then we had the crepe with turkey brie, walnuts. Such a pleasant change from a bun. Then we shared a sweet lemon crepe with blackberries. They also have salads. I will try it next time.”
“Klockow has been one of my bucket list breweries for several years, and finally had the opportunity to visit. The beer was cold and refreshing and the bartender was awesome (unfortunately didn’t get her name) and definitely helped to set the vibe. If you’re in Grand Rapids, check out this gem!”
“My favorite place to get my coffee. Large turtle mocha cooler with dark chocolate is my preference. Staff are always friendly and provide great customer service. The perks account helps to earn rewards and free beverages. I don't typically get any of the food but the breakfast sandwiches aren't bad at all. The building itself is very cozy, comfortable and inviting. If you haven't been to a caribu, you need to make a trip in my opinion.”
“Caribou on highway 2 is the literally the best place to get your coffee, the staff members are always so nice and friendly, orders are made correctly and made super fast!!”
“Great place to eat. Very friendly staff that work there. Very pleasant experience.Parking: Plenty of parking spotsWheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible”
“We've stopped here several times on our way through town. It's always a great stop. The store is very clean, the staff super friendly, and the food is always fresh and hot. Today was no exception. In on the Friday before Christmas, between 1230-1pm, restaurant was packed, but Trish was rocking the front register with lots of smiles and apologies for the wait to order and friendly interactions with customers and coworkers. Her attitude was Amazing!! And our food came out super quick and super yummy! Thanks Culver's Grand Rapids Team!!Vegetarian options: One of my favorite veggie burgers!!”
“Chad .. thanks for taking of us cyclists from the campground! We chose the ribs and Mac cheese and wow were they good! If You like Q then you need to check out Chads meat wagon! The folks in GR are lucky!”
“Its been years but memorable. Little dark "hole in the wall" restaurant. TASTIEST Chinese food I've ever had.. Did not expect the quality I had. Willing to plan a 1.5 hour drive to meet up for lunch who's in?Kid-friendliness: Daughters were 2, 5, 7 enjoyed the food but they are not picky”
“From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a friendly smile by everyone working. Ordered breakfast (omelettes and pancakes) and all of it was mouth watering! No room for the cinnamon rolls, so we took them to go. They are ginormous! Size of a 7-10” dinner plate! Can’t wait to eat those tomorrow for breakfast.Inside is clean as well are the restrooms. We will definitely go there again!”
“Had a great experience on Saturday with Brooke and went back and had an equally good one with Cam! We had 6 different shakes out of 8 and all were great. My favorite was the Cracker Jax- close second Berry Berry!Thank you for being open- great job- everybody support your local businesses as they support us!!!”
“Every time I come here I force myself to try something I haven’t had before and I’ve yet to be disappointed! Buffalo chicken protein bowl today! ? I look forward to eating here more so than any other place in town!”
“Super pumped to have this shop so close to my house and on this side of town. Got the specialty Caramel Apple shake this morning and it was DELICIOUS. Staff is great too. Beautiful facility. Will keep coming back!”
“We found this wonderful coffee place while passing through town. This organization is not only welcoming but such a wonderful example of how to be of service and lead with kindness in the world. Our large party was taken care of quickly and the manager even hopped behind the counter to accommodate all of us. The coffee was made quickly and they were able to keep such a great flavor. Both the cashier and the manager who stopped what she was doing to help us went above and beyond to make us feel not only taken care of but after conversation, we felt like family. We can't wait to come back!”
“Forest Lakes makes a great local spot to get lunch. The parking lot has a tendency to overflow onto the surrounding roads and the lake parking area, which is a testament to the consistency of the food here. My first visit had me try the Raspberry Wonton Shrimp Salad, of which I can only pine for the dressing to come on the side. The shrimp were placed in a separate container "to avoid wilting the salad" which is a legitimate concern, and allowed for one to easily cut them to a size capable of mixing with the salad for fork friendliness, but I did sneak one while I was chopping them and it was an excellent flat coconut-fried shrimp. For some reason though the dressing is not given the same potential-salad-ruining consideration by default, and is not provided in a ramekin, but rather overly applied to the main part of the salad. After mixing in the diner-cut shrimp, the salad was still dripping and the raspberry sauce overpowers everything. There is an easy solution to that though, one just has to know to ask for dressing on the side. It was a good salad, just overpowered. I also had the famed chicken wild rice soup, and it was delectable. One only has to drive around Grand Rapids once to know the popularity of the wild rice in the region, and this soup was a good representation. My brief time in Grand Rapids also overlapped with Saint Patrick's Day, and after the Pickled Loon proved to be too busy for a takeout order (advertising an Irish-American-style poutine that caught my interest), Forest Lakes was able to provide their holiday special for take out. I had the fake American corned beef with: cabbage, stewed carrots, and boiled potatoes. This dish was nothing to write home about, not uniquely good in any way, and therefore perfect for a representative of Irish-American immigrant food. Every meal came with a roll or breadstick and single serving containers of real butter, rather than margarine. If you are looking for anything well spiced, get over that expectation and welcome to Minnesota, otherwise I will say they make the flavours come alive with adequate butter usage and hometown flair. Actual rating is about 3.5, not 4, but limitations on google merit rounding.Parking: see main review”
“I've eaten here a few times now, and it is always top-notch. From the service to the food, it is one of my favorite places to eat in Grand Rapids. My personal favorites are the Enchiladas El Paso and the chicken quesadilla. :)”
“I called in an order and didn’t realize it was made wrong until I got home. I called the next day and Luke told me to stop back in. Not only did he remake my pizza correctly he also refunded me and gave me a coupon for a free pizza. I will definitely be going back! It’s nice to see some people still have a good customer service. Thank you Papa Murphy’s and Luke!”
“Awesome place, great View, we have become locals since we've been here, we go daily and pull tabs & have the walleye fingers which are way larger than fingers!”
“My burger I ordered med-well because that was the least cooked option for an angus/bacon blend. It was well done. It wasn't bad enough for me to justify saying anything, but it was noticed. The rest of the food was good. We tried ordering shakes. They told us "the shake machine isn't working. I just made one for that other table and the machine didn't work right. We don't have ice cream." I'm guessing it's a machine that makes softserv that she was referring to? But we didn't get our shakes.Wheelchair accessibility: Nice ramp.”
“Fuji has GREAT SEAFOOD. It's nice cozy and quiet. There food is great so good except there service is okay. It's so quiet but it's super expensive like $137.07 for me. And kids work there and you can watch them make seafood it's really cool.”
“Feeling kinda cute and getting a STARBUCKS! Don't care for the card reader they hand you and then ask for a tip. (Drive Thru)Watch how some of the workers' actions change when you dont tip them, and we believe in tipping always have just 8$ to 9$ for a coffee and I get 2 to 4 at a time its nothing against yall just idk not like we are inside being waited on but over all great place!”
“Great Food! But the best part about our visit was Angel, the Bar tender, Hostess, Server. She always had a smile on her face, SO kind, accommodating and such quick service. When we're back in the area this will be the place we come back to. 10-10 highly recommend the beef philly.”
“Food was fresh, hot, and fast with also being president very well, Good place!Kid-friendliness: Open and views for the kidsWheelchair accessibility: Should be fairly easy to access ♿”
“We had our annual fantasy baseball draft in their separate dining room and it was an excellent venue. I've worked in the service industry a long time so I'm a little picky when it comes to pizza, and this is a very good one here. They really have the crust dialed in. Perfect crust. I tried the flavor burst, pinwheel, bacon cheeseburger, and some more traditional pizzas and they were all terrific. There's also a full bar and some great beers on tap. Owner is a friendly guy. Looking forward to next year.”
