“My group of individuals is comprised of seniors, retirees, motorcyclists, and military veterans. We started as a motorcycle group many years ago and the rest just came along. In these many years together we have, on average, gone to breakfast twice a week at many various restaurants both independent and chain eateries. Of all the restaurants, Perkins restaurants have been consistently the best. The Vadnais Heights restaurant under the management Paula Primeau is, in my opinion, the best of the best. The quality of the food, service and staff is exemplary and the sense of welcome one feels each and every time you return is immeasurable! Every chance I get I recommend this restaurant and have experienced no regrets from anyone who has followed my recommendations! But then that is what I knew would be the results. “Amian has always been good but under their new ownership has gotten even better. The quality of the dishes is superb, the portions are very large, and really reasonable prices. The American Chinese dishes are great and surprisingly they have a very good pad thai. Looking forward to trying more dishes and happy to have them so close!“

Once you pay and get your drinks and a number post-it, you park in an area past the drive-thru and they have several runners who bring the food out. That seems more efficient than waiting at the window while they prepare your food.

“I thought i would give this a try as I was in the area on a Friday night. The casino is small but offers quite a bit of card games for those who enjoy poker, black jack, pai gao and several others. When you first walk in, the bar area and restaurant greet you, I grabbed a seat at the bar and was quickly offered a water and menu. I ordered a club sandwich and fries($10), my sandwich arrived pretty quickly and was delicious. the club is large and filling, and the fries were tasty. If you are looking for a good value in the Forest Lake area, it's hard to pass up Trout Air Tavern but it does come with whole Casino vibe.“

My son liked his salad a lot and my Rueben, while not traditional, was tasty. I was sadly less than impressed with the Maple Bacon Brussels I got with my sandwich and let Andrea know. She let her manager know right away and they both were SO kind and thanked me for letting them know my concerns. Note to other patrons:
Bringing a large group to breakfast on the busiest day of the week? Call ahead and reserve a table. Panicking the high school age hostess because you brought a group of 11, which was shortly followed by a group of 6, to a popular busy breakfast place and didn’t plan ahead… not their fault. Being seated after 1-top and 2-tops… normal. They only have so many big tables. Don’t flip out at the young girl trying to find you a table because someone eating by themselves was seated before your entire group had a free table. Accept YOUR bad planning and wait til they can accommodate you.
