The last few times its clear how run down this spot is becoming - you have such a great location, beautiful view of lake superior, tourist hot spot ... but its sad how run down its becoming, carpets, worn down booths. . . . “We haven’t eaten here in several years, but we stopped today. The waitress was so kind, I wish I could remember her name. My son ordered a breakfast sandwich and she asked if he had any of the 8 main allergens because they were all in it basically. That was so amazing for her to ask that. I’m so happy they are careful and they also make gluten free options which I need. Everything we ordered was delicious. Highly recommend 👌🏻“

“Haven't been here in years!! Finally got the chance to come back! I was trying to decide where to eat and chose Pickwick! (After a rather unpleasant interaction at another restaurant) I am so happy the staff treated me with kindness and respect! Their service was phenomenal and I loved everything I ordered! “What a beautiful place this is! The staff is beyond courteous, and the food came out fast despite that it got busy after we sat! We had their chocolate martinis for Valentines and couldn’t be happier with the quality of food and drinks. There’s even a library sitting section that they sell books out of that are saved from being destroyed. Loved it here!

“First time stopping in at the Gopher. We went to meet with some friends to play Friday evening bingo and was surprised by how good the food was. The beer battered fries were outstanding, as well as the chicken wings. Our friends got the flat bread and onion rings. The place was packed for bingo, but our server Lisa did the best she could, and we had a great time.“

“I returned to the Applebee's recently, as my visit a couple of weeks ago had left a great impression. I take back my earlier comments about the service. I was left a bit confused this time. I ordered the "Big Cluckin’ Chicken Sandwich" again, and the food was once more, excellent. However, while taking our order, the waitress mentioned something about her shift was ending, which felt a bit off. Midway through the meal, I asked for more fries, and she brought them out promptly. But then she told me the special I’d ordered wasn’t available anymore despite it still being listed on your website.

I get it, the young lady serving us was ready to end her shift, but claiming the offer was discontinued left me confused and frustrated. I’m not sure if I’ll be back after this.“

“Came in after nine to take advantage of the half priced appetizers, Decided to go with the Parmesan shrimp topped steak with garlic, mashed potatoes and broccoli. The presentation of the plate wasn’t the greatest I’ve ever seen, but the taste made up for it. The steak was cooked perfectly. I had ordered it medium rare, and the seasoned broccoli was very tender, and the garlic mashed potatoes were garlic mashed potatoes, nothing real special there, I sat at the bar, because I was by myself . My server was friendly and helpful. It was overall a good experience and I would come back again.“

Had a delicious burger for lunch and ladies with a mildly irritated attitude were holding the place down, yet they made sure I felt welcomed. It was was like being in my grandma's kitchen. Quiet during the day, but judging by the band stage setup they have I'm willing to bet it gets a bit rowdier on the weekends.

They had the most delicious food and my wife who has celiac disease had so many options to pick from for food. They made our night so special and I was beyond impressed. “Love the Tappa Keg Inn!! I love the old time charm, friendly (and fast!) staff, and the food!! My favorites are the pork chop special on Tuesdays and the hot beef sandwich. The number one favorite is the Friday night prime rib. Tender and flavorful!!“

Some of the best Prime Rib and Steak Medalions we've ever had. Flavorful and so tender and cooked to perfection. Not a cheap steakhouse, -median priced, but you do get what you pay for.“

“Sorry, we have not eaten at the chalet, but it is so convenient for going skiing at Spirit Mountain. We noticed the other day almost every table was filled & our friend ordered a delicious wrap there. The chalet has many tables in an area away from thd restaurant, and big picture windows to view the ski hill. A woman in a wheel chair was sitting near thd windows & enjoyed watching the skiiers. I believe the lower challenge has better menu items and a nicer dining area to sit in.

Parking: There are handicapped parking spaces, but an uphill climb to the challet on a cement sidewalk. A person in a wheelchair would need some assistance.

Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, easy to get around with handicapped accessible bathrooms within the challet. Automatic door openers.“

“The best Chicken Caesar Salad I’ve ever had! Period. End of story. (except please keep reading) I’m so happy I got to talk to the mastermind behind this dish (Brandon knows what he is doing!!!), because I wouldn’t normally order this salad. I usually find Caesar salads to be bland and boring. Not this one! Smoked bacon (made in house), croutons (made in house), plus a Caesar dressing that compliments instead of overpowering the salad - yes, again made in house. Then Brandon explained how he makes the chips in house (I won’t try to explain it, because I won’t do it justice), but just know that it is like a chip and a waffle fry had a baby, and these chips are the wonderful, delicious outcome ~ light, but flavorful! A must order!!! The cherry on top was the great service. Cathy was a fabulous bartender and server! She was welcoming from the moment I sat down, and was attentive, without being overbearing. She also made great cocktails! Overall, The Shack was a wonderful experience, and I look forward to coming back on a weekly bases while in town for work. They apparently had a rough go during Covid, but Brandon (& others) have been working tirelessly to improve things, and I’m definitely impressed! I recommend you give them a try as well!“

“Sue is always full of warmth and love ready to spark up conversation. Her Gyros taste like a true traditional fresh shaved gyro. Every can of soda pop is ice cold. Her little corner is always clean and buzzing with chatter. 9/10 times I will take my kids here after shopping for a coney dog, per THEIR request. It's just THAT good.“
