“We got 2 french dip sandwiches with fries and they were great. Fries were fresh and crispy and horseradish and au jus was great as well. Pricey but to be expected for the airport. The restaurant is up a level so you get a great view of everything below. Alison, our server, was super lovely as well.“

“The Cubano was excellent, and the waffle fries and seasoned sour cream are better than other local establishments. I had to give props to the cooks. Most bar food is mediocre, but I was so impressed with their food. We had a great Sunday afternoon here chatting with regulars and the staff. Everyone was very friendly. We will be back!“

“My friends had told me I have to try the coneys at the Gopher Bar. I’m in St. Paul like never, so I have never got to go. I tried to go in July, but they were closed. And with their limited hours, it makes it tough.

I was finally in the area on a Saturday night, and hungry. I stopped in and it was well lit with plenty of seating. Fun, friendly atmosphere with a great wait staff. Fast service for a Saturday evening after 10pm. Got the drinks quickly, got the food quickly. Great service. I might go back just for the service.

I got the deep fried ravioli as an appetizer. Kind of like pizza rolls. They were delicious. I’d get them again for sure.

I also finally got to try the coneys. While they are expensive at $4 apiece, they are delicious. Served hot with a mountain of onions and on special toasted buns specifically for these coneys, it was a great experience. The only knock on the coneys is they don’t come with mustard on them which was odd. I knew they were missing something. I added the mustard and they were great. The dogs have a great “snap” to them when you bite them as they should.

I will definitely be back. Best coney’s in the metro that I’ve found. And I’ve tried a LOT of places.

Just be warned, parking in ST. Paul can be a nightmare and the Gopher Bar only takes cash.

“A group of 11 on Friday evening at a lovely round table set a bit into a nook. The food and drinks were great, as was the service. It’s a visually lovely place. Unfortunately, the noise was so overwhelming, I left with a headache, and disappointed that I hadn’t been able to hear beyond each of the friends seated immediately next to me. I don’t routinely spend this much when I go out to eat, but am happy to when all the features align. Because of the noise, the Saint Paul Grill will not be a choice next time.“

“Welcoming, with just the right amount of lighting, TVs, ambient music and TVs. Cozy bar area. Highly recommend the chips and queso, it's way more complicated and tasty than it sounds. Plenty of street parking. You'd be dumb not to go here.“

“The food was fantastic, we had a burger, pretzel sticks, and a margarita. The service was a bit lacking, but not terrible. The back of the house was so fast and accurate. Great place to go during a layover, with a great bookstore very close.“

“A classic Saint Paul neighborhood bar, with simple grub yet so affordable, a mix of Asian and American. All served as takeaway but you can eat it there if you want and the portions are gigantic. There's bingo two nights a week, a Friday afternoon meat raffle, and pulltabs/etabs. Locals are the majority of the clientele but for all its grittiness, it's a safe place with patrons who care about the establishment! Watch out for the parking lot. It's a dirt lot minefield of potholes that will destroy your transmission of you go faster than 1 mph.“

“In between flights we stopped at Ike's Clubhouse. We were trying to find a reasonable spot. We all know airport restaurants can be expensive. But with the luck of Google, we were able to find Ike's. Chase, our waiter was good. My wife and I weren't too hungry so we told Chase we were going to share a meal. Well to our surprise, the server came out with our meal split in two plates. My wife and a were in aww of the hospitality. I know I know that you're thinking, that is a minor detail, but to us that went a long way. I was just expecting a plate with our food, I'd cut it in half and ask for another plate, but they thought about that prior. Besides that, the food was good, the price was reasonable for an airport restaurant and the hospitality was top notch. Thank you Chase and staff!!
