Chicken Gizzards: Technique, technique, technique. I can only wonder the effort and preparation on the front end that makes these gizzards so, so tender. The food was not bad, only different from what I am used to eating.

Their fried pickle chips are awesome, wings great even sauceless (got dipping sauces on side), walleye fries were great, the only thing we were so so on were the nachos. Fake cheese was blah but otherwise all good! Service excellent, drinks cold.“

“We came here with the promise of some great Coneys, and we were not disappointed. Yeah the place is a bit of a dive, but that definitely adds to the charm. The apps we had (fried mushrooms and mozzarella sticks) were delicious, but those Coneys... OH MY GOD!!! Absolutely delicious! I had 2 but I could've easily downed 2 more. So good, and what was especially impressive that every one of the 5 total that we had looked exactly the same. The consistency of the cook is often overlooked at other places, but not here. Top notch! Also, our bartender Jade (sp?) was super friendly and always on top of anything we needed. Very funny too. A little bit of humorous commentary made for an even better experience.

As I said, the Coneys are to die for, but I would also recommend the Reuben egg roll. I got one after I was finished with the dogs, and it was absolutely amazing!

Gopher Bar is definitely the place to check out if you are a Coney Dog fan. And if you're not, there's plenty of other options to try that all looked incredible when I scanned the menu. Also, and this is yet another reason to choose The Gopher, the prices are very cheap. I wouldn't have expected to get full for under $20 anywhere these days, but they certainly did it! I'm actually getting hungry again just typing this! 😅

“5 stars is not nearly enough stars for this place. I have celiac disease (severe wheat/gluten allergy) and when I saw gluten free cheese curds and gluten free fried pickles on the menu, I about cried. I haven’t had cheese curds or fried pickles at a sports bar since I was diagnosed 11 years ago. Their food is absolutely incredible- something you normally wouldn’t expect from a place like this. I’m so grateful to whoever created the menu!

The patrons are mostly regulars and are down to earth and friendly. If you want to just have a drink at a good price this is the spot. Oh and if you are worried about this place not being accepting and safe, I was here to watch my lesbian sister perform her music and was with my best friend who is a drag queen.
