“I can't say enough about how amazing Francis is! Outstanding food and drinks! They have the BEST Spicy Margarita that I have EVER had! Their drink menu has so many cool and unique cocktails that are different from any I have had before. Then there is the food...I literally think about the Chicken Sandwich daily. My daughter went 3 times the first week they were open, and continues to go weekly! There isn't an item in the menu that I've tried that is anything less than AMAZING! I HIGHLY recommend everyone tries it! You definitely do NOT need to be a vegan to love this food. Trust me, TRY IT! You'll love it and will ABSOLUTELY be back for more!Vegetarian options: The entire menu, including drinks, is vegan. No meat or dairy products, so perfectly suitable for vegetarians!“
“We held our company Christmas Party at their beautiful restaurant and had such a great time! The staff were so attentive and wonderful to interact with throughout the whole evening! We ordered an array of food and our employees couldn’t stop talking about how fantastic the prime rib and KFC (Korean fried cauliflower) were! The talk around the shop about this event and the delicious food went on for days! We all had such a great experience from start to finish. They made it so easy to plan, set up, host and tear down. We would highly recommend anyone looking to host a party to come here! Now if you are just looking for a bite to eat for a date night or family night out, they also have you covered. No matter what plans you have this is the spot to be! A huge thanks to Lake and Irving for all they did for us and a massive thank you to Chris the chef! That meal was better than we could have ever expected!“
“We stopped for dinner on a Thursday night. We sat at the bar. The place was already staring to fill up and it was 5:30 pm. Bartender was very friendly and we ordered our drinks. We ordered food-Double Barrel Burger and chicken wrap. Both were fantastic. I have grown to love smash burgers and the special sauce was fantastic. Also ordered sweet potato planks. Would definitely recommend.“
“From the moment I reserved for a large group (8) here we were taken care of! 10/10 customer service from booking to finishing our meal. Our waitress even split appetizers on the checks and was perfect for providing the best experience possible.Food was ok, just wish there were more offerings. Very greasy cuban but Brussel sprouts were amazing and had a decent amount. The violet drink was pretty good but others at the table didn't think their drinks were strong/tasted like straight up juice.Vibe was great!“
“What a special restaurant! Been wanting to dine here for a while. Reservations are highly recommended. Service was fantastic! We ordered the spaghetti Nero to share: squid ink pasta with a generous amount of seafood! Our entrees were the ribeye steak and the duck breast. Both grilled to perfection! Because we were celebrating our anniversary, our server gave us a sweet treat. Extensive wine list and delicious cocktails!“
“Great little find. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable regarding the drinks and alcohol they are serving. They even have a selection of spirit free drinks that taste amazing! As a person who does not drink, it is great to find a place that actually makes true cocktails without spirits. Will be back.“
“My husband and I took our daughters out for dinner. Nightingale is a lovely restaurant with a bar in the middle. We started with deviled eggs, mushroom bruschetta and french fries. For entrées, we had the Meyer lemon risotto, hangersteak, scallops, and sunchoke soup. I didn't think the french fries were that good and my husband said the lemon risotto was not that great either but everything else was delicious. Service was excellent.“
“The best Ethiopian food and service I've had so far in the Twin Cities and I've been here almost ten years. Highly recommend!Vegetarian options: Very flavorful vegetarian optionsParking: It's a big parking lot in the backKid-friendliness: Family friendly“
“I love the ambiance at this place. It's great for both date nights and/or group fine dining experience. My favorite is their Salsa sampler/flight. Food and drinks are a bit on the pricey side but I'd say it's pretty worth it. Great service too.“
“Love everything about this place! Our server was amazing, very knowledgeable, and had great suggestions - thank you, Tyler! Every dish we had was an explosion of flavor and textures. Everything balanced and complimented each, yet stood out on its own... So incredibly hard to accomplish ??. The atmosphere was beautiful and elevated but not stuffy. This was the perfect date night for anyone who loves bold flavors and something different. We'll be back, for sure.“
“Great viewing experience, excellent screen quality. The seating is still pretty comfortable even though it's an older style. My only complaint is that they don't have more people working as far as popcorn and so on. The girls working did a wonderful job and went as fast as they could. But The line is always so long that you end up missing part of the movie.“
“Just ate here on a whim. Wife picked it from a huge list on google. They did not disappoint. Order the fried chicken. You won’t be sorry. I also had burnt ends. Prolly the best I’ve ever had. Sticky toffee pudding and banana Creme pie for dessert. This place was off the chain. Great food great atmosphere great service. Will be back soon. I’m kinda of mad at myself for not ordering another sticky toffee pudding to take with me. 200 stars. Thanks for a great meal“
“I've been to Malcolm Yards a few times and always have been pleased with my food. There is plenty of parking that is free and paid street parking. The inside and outside areas offer plenty of seating. Inside there are several food vendors to choose from and you can order from multiple. This time I got the chipotle sweet potato and roasted nabo sueco tacos from Martes. They were between $5-6 each, so not bad of a price. These tacos were so delicious, I didn't want them to end! I was so glad I went and tried these, but you can't go wrong with the other vendors either. The empanadas at Del Sur are amazing! Overall very cool spot to hang out, but can get expensive quickly if you don't pay attention.“
“This was my first visit there but not my last!! I found the check in process very professional. The staff very friendly and attentive to the needs of the dogs. The bar and cafe offer delicious food and drinks.I was extremely pleased!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Dog-friendliness: The staff is right there if there's any potty issues or rough play!!!!!Picnic area: The outdoor area is awesome. Can't wait to return and have the fire pit burning!!!!!!!“
“I was planning a bachelor party and looked up top rated gentleman’s clubs in downtown Minneapolis. Ricks was the first club to pop up, so we made a reservation and decided to try it out. WOW!!!The service was top notch. The girls were on a different level.I felt like a VIP from start to finish.Truly an unreal experience and I will be back but this time without all the boys ?. What an awesome experience!“
“Over 2 dozen well maintained pinball options with a hot dog menu (vegan options) and full bar with craft beer. Awesome service and friendly bartenders that kept smiling until bar close. The Godzilla machine is the LE with the collapsible building and is a must play; other popular machines included Game of Thrones, Stranger Things and Deadpool. Games are only $.50! Sure wish this pub were closer.“
“Awesome place! Cool, upscale vibes yet we still felt comfortable in jeans and casual clothes. The menu had a nice variety of items - our server recommended a few things that we enjoyed (except one).My daughter and I shared the prosciutto and burrata pizza - sooooo delicious! It was a little heavy on the arugula for our taste, but once we removed some of that it was a delicious pie! My daughter said it may have been one of her favorites ever! We also shared a Caesar salad - standard. My husband really enjoyed the skillet lasagna, but the portion was actually on the small side. Our only slight disappointment was the Philly sandwich. The menu didn’t have a description, so her only ask was no onions. When it arrived it was like loose meat with a bland orange cheese on top, in a standard hoagie roll. Not a ton of flavor. She had the garlic mashed as a side and it also left her feeling meh - not a ton of flavor and the texture almost felt like instant potatoes? Weird. Our server was really great and fun,We would definitely return if we’re in the area again - maybe to try a few other pizzas!“
“Great place for live music. Small main floor area with a balcony on all three sides. Sound system was very clean and the volume was not over-powering. Staff were all friendly. Drinks were good. Small food menu with decent burgers. Would definitely go back for more music! Parking is a little tricky. The instructions and app required for the ramp had several people confused. But that's not The Green Rooms fault!“
“The blues music dive bar of Minneapolis! Good bar food, great service, friendly patrons. Have had some pretty grumpy bartenders in the past (YEARS ago) but no bad experience now. The renovations are great - feels more open and brighter inside.I'm a huge fan of bar "pork tenderloin" sandwiches and couldn't resist ordering one during my last visit. It was really just a deep fried pork chop on a bun. Very delicious but not an actual pork tenderloin.Note: it is very loud when the band plays, do not go for a date night and expect to carry a conversation.NA option: Heineken 0.0“
“best place in the twin cities. I remember when there was only beer and wine behind the bar and they sold single cigarettes. Dinner was a baguette and a roasted bulb of garlic and a bottle of wine. theater in the back with story tellers and fringe artists that kept this transplanted nyer here in the twin cities for 30 years.“
“The ambiance is warm and welcoming. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They can describe drinks and make suggestions based on your preferences. There is variety in their food and drink menus. Delicious appetizers and pizzas. Girlfriends went to celebrate one of our birthdays- the server came with a round of mini cocktails for us to toast the birthday girl. Fun night, will be back.“
“Cultivated skill of fine dining meets dive bar. Bull’s Horn is something in between. Reasonably priced for dishes created by a culinary chef who makes his very own house made bologna and cheeses. His subtle cooking techniques results in extraordinary taste and texture that the unrefined tastebud may miss. Great food coupled with great service drove my family to stop here twice during our weekend trip to Minneapolis. Here are our must tries: Cheese Curd: Lightly battered and geniusly paired with thousand island dressing which breaks up the acidity of the cheese and brings out the rich creamy cheese flavor. Bologna Sandwich: Not from your childhood! This homemade recipe marries a blend of spices that makes your tastebuds dance. Lightly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside…assembled with homemade American cheese, a slice of crisp white onion on toasted white bread… the best I’ve had in my life! Chicken Gizzards: Technique, technique, technique. I can only wonder the effort and preparation on the front end that makes these gizzards so, so tender. Lightly battered and minimal frying time leave these gizzard with a “cut with a folk” and “melt in your mouth” texture that I have never experienced before.“
“You walk in into a small yet inviting waiting area with a small bar. If you got the pre drink package, you get a small menu of crafted cocktails or you can ask the bartender to make your own. After your introductory drink, they take you to the dining area which is a U shaped are with the kitchen in the center. You get an amazing experience from start to finish with 7 to 11 courses; you won't leave hungry. The wine pairing is carefully selected for a perfect match to each dish. The food is TOP NOTCH. They way the flavors come together in your pallet is really an experience you need to have for yourself.“
“Super fun bar and bowling alley! We came here with a couple of friends on a Thursday night to hit the lanes and grab some dinner. Food was decent, pretty standard bar fare. Service was a little slow, but it was packed so that might not be the norm. It was great that you can put your name on the list for Bowling while having dinner. It speeds up the process.Bowling prices are great! I like that it’s per person per game and not timed like a lot of Alleys are doing these days.“
“My wife and I came in on Monday before a show at the Fillmore. We had happy hour drinks and appetizers, along with entrees and dessert. Everything was wonderful. Hannah was great and if I remember correctly, Christian was the bartender. He made us very well balanced cocktails for 3 hours. My last drink was the chili rum punch. I pulled Hannah aside to get the ratios for the cocktail it was that good. I was taken back when she said it wasn't as popular as some of the other cocktails. That's a perfect patio cocktail and one that I'll try to recreate with my staff for this spring/summer. The only thing I will reccomend or suggest and it's maybe just a preference. For the crab cake appetizer, instead of placing the crab cake on top of the jalapeno tartar sauce,(which was delicious). Think about placing the sauce on the side and not underneath. It just seemed like there was way more tartar than needed. But like I previously stated, could just be my preference.“
“I eat here a lot, and I love the food, prices, and service. I have an account, so I often get free food using the loyalty points. They have great vegan options as well.Vegetarian options: Falafel or quinoa can be substituted for any of the meals. They also have vegan options.“
“A beautiful venue with unique drinks, but our experience was exceptional thanks to our server Hailey J. She was so professional, recommended drinks specific to our likes, and took the time to get to know us. We will definitely be back because of this!“
“In love with the vibe of this place, it is dark and rustic with light wood, velvet upholstered seating, and minimal decor. The feel is a bit pretentious, but not off putting in my opinion. The food is mostly small bites and a couple sandwiches, and the wine and drinks menu is fairly priced and thoughtful.I got the olives and pickled vegetables, and the eggplant red pepper dip with crudités. The picked veg was great- crunchy carrots, cauliflower and other veg pickled to vinegary perfection. The olives were big meaty Castlevetrano olives. For me things went downhill with the dip and vegetables. The dip was sweet and spicy, but the assortment of vegetables was not my cup of tea. I didn’t touch the celery or the green onion (was I supposed to eat that on its own..?) The cooked mushrooms were good and the quality of the vegetables were great, but I should’ve asked what veg was included before ordering. Also, a bit of bread included with this would be a nice addition, without needing to order it separate and pay extra. The apricot old fashioned was okay- a tad sweet up front and bitter on the end. I was happy with it but it is on the sweeter side.Overall I did enjoy Dutch Bar. 2 small plates and 2 drinks were about $50 and they do add a hospitality service fee, but such is the current climate when dining out.I will also mention there was a strong smoky cooking smell in the place. However, I am eager to visit again and try out a few other items!“
“Whiskey was fantastic, and I didn't think it was overpriced, as many have claimed. It's the same at any other whiskey or scotch bar, and Gori even allows you to do half pours, which is very nice. Aside from straight whiskey, the Old Fashion was one of the best I've had, very unique and balanced. They do add an extra 20% charge, but they didn't even give us the option of tipping, so that's your tip. Environment is very small but wonderful. I would live there if I were rich.“
“This restaurant is great. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly and helpful with our questions. The atmosphere is great! They have 3 levels in their restaurant including a speakeasy style atmosphere in the basement. The food was delicious, bringing french inspired options to the area in a fresh way.“
“Dined at Stanley’s before a Timberwolves game and had a decent experience. Service was simple and to the point, so it wasn’t anything special. Ordered boneless wings that came out steaming but we didn’t receive happy hour pricing despite being there well before happy hour ended. Diet Pepsi was lacking syrup so tasted a bit stale or flat. Overall I would give them another visit but wouldn’t expect anything above average!Parking: Small lot connected onto building, probably 10-12 slots. Additional overflow parking is available across the street.“
“Consistently a very popular restaurant in North Loop, allow extra time to find a table without online reservations. The food does not disappoint, lots of Italian favorites to choose from. We enjoyed the Chicken Parmesan & Chicken Caesar Salad, the wood grilled oysters also seemed to be a fan favorite.“
“Volstead's is a fun place with great drinks, great music, and delicious food. However, the entree portions are very small for the price. The market fish entree for $22 included maybe 4oz of fish and maybe a quarter cup of rice pilaf. The cornbread for $14 was about 7 inches in diameter. The server was slow to refill waters and run food. Go for drinks and the music, but eat dinner first.“
“Great place that's kid friendly and has 2 patios (front and back) that are both dog friendly. Good food, top notch service, great cocktails. The chicken and wild rice pot pie was a novel, yet obvious take on an old favorite. Of course those flavors go together. Can't believe it's not more common, but that's what's great about this place, they take familiar dishes and class them up. Really loved their cocktail options too. Will have to go back and try more because I was between a couple options. The blackberry sour was refreshing and had a hint of sweet to balance the tartness. Service was top notch, probably the best you'll get anywhere. Will definitely be back.Parking: There's a large parking lot that wraps around the restaurant. The back patio is in the parking lot. There's also street parking all around the lot, so if you can't find a spot in the lot, there are other options.Kid-friendliness: There were a lot more options for kids than on a standard kids menu and they had whole milk for littles. Their highchairs are better than most too with all the straps, etc. They give you crayons and the kids menu can be drawn on. Servers were good about putting food and drinks out of reach of babies and warning you about hot things. If you're looking for a family friendly meal out, this place has you covered.“
“Jimmy's is the epitome of a neighborhood bar. Food is available, but it's certainly a drinking establishment. Bartenders who know their stuff and talk to both regulars and newbies on their downtime. Order their famous cocktail: the Bullfrog!“
“This is a neighborhood staple that I’ve been enjoying ever since I moved here. Great food with a changing specials menu and affordable drinks! Plus tons of history. The bartender Connie is the best and knows everyone by name. Even the bus boy (Andy?) is always keeping the space clean and inviting. It’s a must in the Old Town area!“
“AMAZING! My boyfriend & I had brunch here & were shocked to realize that this place had been just down the street for months & we had no idea, which is nuts because the food was AWESOME. Great atmosphere with cool artwork. Super delicious. I had the Ethiopian sampler & my boyfriend had the breakfast burrito. Both were outstanding. The drip coffee was great too! This is a great addition to the Seward neighborhood & I hope more people check this place out, because this restaurants needs to stay put!!!“
“A couple of friends and I enjoyed a few drinks last Friday. The bartenders, Joe and Charlie, were more than accommodating and made all of us newcomers feel very welcome. Although it’s cash only, the prices are very fair and we look forward to going back. Thank you!“
“Service is always fantastic and the bartenders take great care of us each time we visit! Food always comes out within minutes, the fastest I’ve ever experienced!Dietary restrictions: Services always accommodate my gluten and dairy allergy!“
“Palmers Bar consistently manifests that rare mix of high-end, quality ingredients, creative mixology, attentive, knowledgeable wait staff and quietly-upscale atmosphere. All these elements work together seamlessly to ensure each Palmers patron's experience is an understated, singular joy.Vegetarian options: Panko-encrusted yam brisketKid-friendliness: The ball pit was hygenic and fun!!“
“This was a nice surprise. We were looking for a spot to grab dinner before a concert and ended up eating and staying for drinks for a couple of hours. The drinks Dave made us were fantastic. The food was very good. Overall a great spot to stop at for food in the area. Between the great conversation with Willie one of the managers, and Dave behind the bar, it was a great experience and I know this will be where I go next time I'm up in Minneapolis.“
“Grumpy's is a classic. It's everything you'd expect in a dive bar.You can't not like it. Yeah, the patrons can be annoying and entitled, parking sucks, the bathroom is not stellar, they sell Veggies pizza, and it's always loud. That's what makes it the bar that it is!NA options: I love that they have Guinness NA! I also love that the bartender served the beer in an actual Guinness glass!“
“Awesome door guy, who just got a pug. Chill vibe, other patrons were friendly, They have pull tabs and e tabs, makes it easy to be a charitable person. At least that's what I tell myself when I don't win. Hahaha. I give 4 stars on service, because the place was not busy and we had to wait for drinks and to pay. There is no reason why the bartender shouldn't hustle just cuz it's slow. They were nice enough, but come on person. Pep in step would be nice. The bar carries Pryes Royal Peach, which I love. A shot of Casamigos reposado was $15. Which is insanely steep, considering it cost less at the music venue I work at. I normally get Casadores, because it's not sweet, but Casamigos is an ok substitute. So, believe me when I say I know the average cost of this shot around town. Three other items I purchased were reasonably priced. But this $15 shot was just straight up insane. Whoever is doing the pricing needs to go out and do some scouting and check prices on stuff at other bars. That one is too much, especially cuz you're not a giant venue, stadium, or the airport. That being said, nice spot. Great patio. Would %100 recommend checking it out on your next NE bar crawl.“
“The seating was comfortable. The waitress was professional and attentive. I ordered a drink and a grilled Ham and Swiss sandwich. The drink was good and the food was outstanding. I highly recommend this Eagles/American Legion establishment. I live 12 miles away, so if I go back it will be for the food!“
“This is one of our go-to restaurants in the North Loop! Their food is amazing, the chicken sandwich is to die for, and the Thr3 Jack burger is just as good as Parlour! The cocktails are delicious, and the atmosphere is cozy, yet cool. Highly recommend to anyone, especially if it's warm enough to sit on the patio at the bar.Parking: There is a parking ramp right next door, as well as street parking throughout the whole neighborhood.“
“This spot was a little unexpected. When I am traveling, I love to scope out great liquor stores to find unique or more rare bottles of bourbon, and when I was talking to my friend from the cities, she said we had to go to Surdyk’s. She also said that she heard they have a pretty exceptional bar/restaurant connected to it. I was sold. The liquor store itself did not disappoint with floor to ceiling options, but Sidebar was equally impressive. It had a great ambience, this house old-fashioned might be one of the best I have ever had, and their food was unexpectedly elevated for being a restaurant connected to a liquor store. For example, they don’t have onion rings, they have onion bhaji which is like an onion fritter that was exploding with flavor and texture. Even these roasted brussels sprouts had additional elements that set them apart. There is an obvious reason that the liquor store was celebrating its 90th anniversary. When you’re doing things that well, people recognize it.Wheelchair accessibility: **one caveat I will give to this experience is that if you use a wheelchair or can’t manage stairs, you will need to enter the restaurant through the liquor store. The liquor store clerk that I asked about getting to the restaurant told me I had to go outside and get in the side door, but there were stairs, so I had to find a manager that could let me in through the liquor store.“
“This is a hidden gem brunch spot. On Saturdays and Sundays between 10am to 3pm you can get a pretty good meal for around $15 and comes with a free drink. The indoor bar area is small and divey (which I personally love), so indoor seating is limited but they have a great (and large) outdoor patio area which is shared with the Cabooze next door. There is occasionally live music outside, as well.“
“Up-Down Minneapolis is the perfect spot for a trip down memory lane! Play classic arcade games, sip on craft beers, and chow down on pizza by the slice. They've even got skee-ball to complete the experience. It can get loud and crowded, especially on weekends, but that's all part of the fun! Overall, Up-Down is perfect for anyone looking for a fun and nostalgic night out!“
“Don't let the fancy name trip you up. This is a diiiiiive bar. It's a long, narrow barroom with an open "kitchen" (really just a griddle and fryer setup) over to the side of the bar. There's no cook. No servers. Just a couple of friendly bartenders slinging cheap drinks and, I sh-- you not, the best freaking burgers in Minneapolis. They also have chicken sandwiches and pizzas, and I'm sure they're delicious. But the perfectly seasoned, perfectly griddled smash burgers are really where it's at. The atmosphere is divey and friendly. Lots of regulars coming in and out, nice patio area, etc. Everything is very clean, but there are no frills. If you love places like that as much as I do, do yourself a favor and head to NEYC now.“
“We eat a lot of South Asian food, and Spice & Tonic has some of the best we’ve had in the Twin Cities area! The tandoori chicken was delicious and exceptionally moist, while the chicken curry was flavorful. Plus, the prices were reasonable. Inside, the decor was lovely and the staff friendly and fast. We highly recommend it!“
