“Stopped in around 9pm on a Monday night in early January 2026. Kitchen was still open, we called ahead so they knew we were coming and said kitchen stays open until 30 minutes prior to closing which was midnight that night. Sofie was our bartender/sever/hostess/pull tab lady. She does it all! Prices are very reasonable, food was great we had pizza, wings & shrimp. “I have a son who has Celiacs Disease and eating out is always a challenge. Not only is it hard to find places that can accommodate his dietary needs, it’s even harder to find places that have ‘staples’ that actually taste like he remembers before he had to cut out gluten. I heard about this place on a GF Facebook page and my wife I decided to make the 40+ minute drive from home as an end of the week treat. We couldn’t have been more pleased. The menu was actually hard for him to choose from so we almost let him try it all. We started with fried pickles and cheese curds, one of which was completely new to him, and the other which is a rare thing to find because of the batter and non-dedicated fryers. Both were amazing. For his main course he did fried walleye and tater tots. There was so much food that he was able to make it into two more meals the next day and they reheated perfectly in an air fryer at home. For dessert he had GF deep fried Oreos and ice cream. That dish was completely devoured with no leftovers remaining. My wife’s and my meals were not GF, but there was more options than we could handle and those dishes were also amazing.

The ambiance was typical of a small town sports bar/pub, which is again a rarity in terms of finding that kind of food in that type of establishment. Our server was very friendly and the person who delivered the food was equally friendly. I suspect he was an owner or the manager and he answered additional questions we had about the food prep and handling of the GF ingredients and cooking. We will definitely be making the trip back!“

“Just went a couple weeks ago for a concert. It is a smaller venue but definitely a decent one. I love the vibes as they are very friendly and very inclusive. I cannot speak on the food as I did not order anything. They do offer water stations for free which is huge as most places only do bottled water. The bathrooms are gender neutral and full of cool stickers and writing on the walls. Highly recommended place just based off first impression.“

“Been intrigued about the Black Hart for a while, and hey, I'm all for hitting up businesses that are accessible on the lightrail. To my understanding, they're LGBTQ-owned, and give back to local organizations. I visited for the Dining Out for Life event, and they specifically donated 33% of their proceeds to the Aliveness Project, a local organization dedicated to education, prevention, and treatment for HIV/AIDs.

So the Black Hart feels like a dive bar in a lot of ways, it's very old school but immaculate and clean. I was honestly astounded by how not-sticky the bar is. They have a wonderful selection of drafts, bottles/cans, and cocktails (including a soft-serve margarita for $8? Hello?) They recently unveiled a new food menu which features a variety of brats, hot dogs, and vegan brats (but please note, per their Instagram, the oil they use is not vegan. They have a very small kitchen, y'all.) I ordered a Japanese brat, which comes with sriacha, kewpie mayo, and fried onions. I was accidentally served a Korean brat (which has kimichi and gochujang) and they let me eat that for free. Don't sleep on the Korean brat: the kimchi they serve is so fresh and has a sweet taste. Sometimes kimchi can be a little too sour/bitter--Idk who their vendor is, but it was good. The brat is also high quality, excellent texture and seasonings. Their cheese curds were also decent! But don't skip the brats!

Service was great. One bartender holding down the fort, and he did a great job at attending to the customers there and checking in with them. ALSO! PLEASE BE SURE TO ORDER AT THE SIGN! It is VERY obvious and I'm seeing some folks leaving negative reviews on not seeing the sign for ordering??? Babe, look up???

All in all, great business, lovely bar. Don't miss out on the cherry rhubarb cider they currently have on the menu. If there's any feedback I could give? It'd be rad if they put their menu on their website. But aside from that, rad place. They also have pool and bocce bar ($5 for 1 hr for the bocce ball.)“

“When I eat I drink Bloody Mary's they just taste better with my food if I feel like a drink, let me tell you I had a very reasonable priced Bloody Mary and it was on Point I could taste everything in the drink a first for me and it had all the fixings as well, I appreciated that. They also have a place too eat Pop's and Son grill I ordered 4 wings and a brisket topped Baked potato I asked for my wings hard didn't get that but they tasted ok and the brisket was not a lot but also good I didn't bring my wings back because they seemed real busy they brought me someone else's food at first them my order and I appreciated Who I assume was Pop came and talked to his customer's checking on them and their food they gave us A 1 service I work in kitchen's and understand things happen sometimes it's how you react to the situation and after that matters the most and they gave the all.
