“This restaurant is top notch! From the minute you walk in to the minute you leave you'll experience first class service, friendly smiles, and impeccable food. Apps included Reuben truffles and pot stickers. Both were ok. I had the braised beef with vegetable of the day, linguine and added a scallop. Beef was fork tender and scallop was to die for! Vegetable of the day was your average mixed veg and linguine was so-so; butter cheese sauce was broken and sort of gritty. Another party member had jumbo shrimp with red potatoes and upgraded to grilled asparagus. They were the biggest jumbo shrimp I've ever seen. Dish was given rave reviews. Last guest had the special of the night: blackened halibut with mixed veg and linguine. Halibut was perfectly cooked and very tasty. Dessert included their signature torte and white cake layered with strawberries and cream. Torte was fabulous. Unfortunately the cake was less than sub-par. Overall, this place is a hidden gem in downtown Lake Elmo. Highly recommend. Atmosphere is elegant and classy.“

Everything was cooked to perfection and the flavors were balanced so well. It is priced fairly for the quality. The service was AMAZING and our server Luis made us feel like family. This was a great place to celebrate our anniversary and the staff made it feel very much like a special occasion. My partner has celiac (gluten allergy) and the staff was knowledgeable and they even had a separate frier. She told us it will be coming. Our food arrived and we asked again about the appetizer. She seemed confused. “Their specials are amazingly low priced (as is their regular menu). Love their Coney Dogs (on special 3 days a week for $8.50 for 2 dogs and fries) and the M-F burger basket for $8. This place is a classic bar, the oldest continuously operating bar in Minnesota I believe. Decor is classic, has a tin ceiling, classic beer signs and the like. It can get really busy at times, super crowded l, as a random Saturday where I went in for Coney Dogs- the place was overflowing with bikers standing all over the place. It can also get really loud- I felt like I probably got hearing damage from the raucous noice levels of the bikers. The place is great overall. Staff is friendly, decent selection of beers mostly focused on people pleasing domestics and some craft beers (they are in the Pub Pass too). Check it out for some tasty bar food, just be aware you may have to change your mind and walk across the street to Mac's if the place is elbow to elbow busy.“

“I've gone here a few times in my life living in the neighborhood down the street from this place. It's been several names but now it's Cheer's Pub after the latest ownership change. They run a decent bar, seem to keep tabs on the patrons and it's a decent hangout. It's a typical neighborhood bar with a lot of regulars, cheap drinks, pull tabs, plus some stuff good...football nights, live music with local cover bands and some homegrown musicians, and Karaoke nights. The food here with the new owners is actually pretty damn good for a bar. I've ate here a couple times and I'd go back for those times I'm peckish and don't want to make anything myself (and they make a good drink). Simple menu: French fries, Mozzarella sticks, Jalapeño poppers, Hot dog, Slaw dog, Polish dog, Burger, Cheeseburger, Chicken drummies/sandwich/tenders, Catfish nuggets, Corned beef or Turkey sandwich.This time around I had the slaw dog (see pic) and it was a good take on a Chicago but with slaw...it's a beaut and tastes great, plus the fresh cut fries were the bomb.“
