“Cowan's is about as good as it gets when it comes to down-home cooking meets contemporary American cuisine! The people there are awesome and very polite. The menu is great, it is just fantastic that you can get any meal at any time of day! It's all done very well too. Their desserts are out of this world, especially the MILE HIGH pie!!You gotta stop in and try this place, Cowan's is awesome! “First time customer. I came in early, yet convinced the tenderloin is the best on the menu, I went for it.An unexpected phenom happened. Somehow, some way my steak ended up inside an active volcano where it cooked until it was turned to char. The staff was quick to act and make it right. Then they brought out an Amazeballs fillet!I eat steak often and it was perfection! I'm already craving the next one and haven't left the parking lot yet. Things happen and they made it right, that's more than expected in this day and age where standard service is becoming something of the past!“

“Best breakfast I ever had.Hashbrowns perfect. Golden, no grease. White toast perfect. No grease. Just perfect. Two large sauges. No grease. Normally want links, but these were perfect. Eggs perfect. No grease. Over easy.When I say perfect breakfast, I mean. Large plate of food.1: 30 in afternoon. Open till 2 p.m.Customers allowed in 5 min before closing. “Great service! Everyone was so friendly and our waitress was on it. Food was pretty good, nice size portions and reasonable prices. I like the menu, decent amount of options but not overwhelming like some with 1,000 things to choose from ? Franklin's is definitely worth visiting, but go early, they're open 6am - 3pm. They also have lunch specials...fried chicken, frog legs and a couple others!!“

“This experience was disappointing. I don't remember there being vinyl tablecloths which really don't look nice. There were children running around interrupting other people at other tables. As for the food- the lasagna looked good and tasted pretty good, but wasn't hot in the middle. The penne with chicken and artichoke was a disaster. It was about 3/4 penne with lots of linguine noodles tossed in. The sauce was excessive or had a lot of pasta water in the bowl. It looked like a soup and didn't taste great either. Then, when presented with the bill, we were charged a service charge for using a credit card. Using a credit card at an eating establishment, especially one this large and servicing a large number of people, has been standard practice for decades with the establishment covering these fees, yet, for some reason the Hawthorne as decided to pass these charges along to the customer. This, along with the vinyl tablecloths really cheapens the experience yet the prices have continued to inflate.“

“Me and my mom were stuck in a winter storm and the roads were really bad and they took us in. Very nice people, well decorated, good food, gave me paper and a pencil to draw while waiting to leave, gave me a phone charger and told us the safest way to leave. They were very VERY nice people and if I could I would give them a better rating. I would recommend going to this place.“

“I had the potato soup and chicken tenders with white pasta. The soup was amazing, would definitely recommend but the tenders and pasta were lacking. The tenders were over cooked and the pasta was a bit dry. For desert I had the chocolate cheesecake and it was good but also a bit dry.“

“First off the waitress was super nice.We had German Cottage Fries as an appetizer.I ate the Jager Shnittzle with red cabbage and spaetzle!!!. I was delicious!.Monica had Pork Chops with Apple Chutney and home fries and enjoyed it.We then got a beer bratwurst...just because. It was also on point!This is a ways to drive from Jefferson City but when St. Louis trips come up this will be a great place to stop.“

“Great food and even better service. 5 of us ladies dined here yesterday. The man behind the bar was slammed but he was very relaxed and stayed sweet and joking the whole time. Only criticism is I personally don't like my bread toasted on the grill because so many places don't clean them well and the taste can be off-putting.“

Once I took the first bite I could not stop eating this burger. “12 family members visiting Washington, MO dropped in to Joe’s for lunch about 1:30 on a weekday and received excellent service, a delicious lunch, and scrumptious desserts. They let us move tables so we could all sit together and even offered to take our order at the table rather than having all of us come up to the counter to order since we were such a large group. I would certainly recommend the food and I feel we received wonderful service!“

“Stopped in with a friend to grab a burger, we thought it was more of a bar & grill but it's pretty much just a bar. They do have some food and it was good! Bartender was super friendly, there's a couple pool tables, jukebox, video poker, think I saw a dart board, typical bar stuff! They don't take plastic, but there's an ATM by the jukebox ?“
