“The Crossing Restaurant did a remarkable job the other evening when we dined there. We had impeccable service and outstanding food. I loved being able to do the four course meal with some of the specials. It was wonderful to see the dining room full in this well-established restaurant in the heart of Clayton. I remember being wowwed when I first dined at The Crossing 25 years ago and it is still just as fabulous! We cannot wait to return.”

“I think this may be my new favorite restaurant in St. Louis. The ambience alone is absolutely beautiful, but combine that with amazing food and impeccable service and you have a winner. Best oysters I’ve ever had, and those Gruyère puffs are insanely good. I had the Bavette steak, and my husband had the chicken cordon bleu… Incredible! You cannot miss out on the drinks; the cocktails are so good and the spritz hour is a great deal. Highly recommend!”

He's definitely the type of server you want to go back to. We also enjoyed our food and drinks. We will be back! “The food is absolutely delicious! The burgers are huge and delicious, and quite well cooked. The barbecue sauce was tangy and delicious with the Gateway Burger. I was looking forward to trying the onion rings, but ended up not having room after the burger!

Some reviews have mentioned the service - the servers are not overenthusiastic in their greetings as other restaurants, but the service is damn good. They have a very subtle style of attentiveness, not always asking if you need something but noticing when you do, keeping an eye on you. They check in at the exact points - when the food hits the table, after two bites, and when your plate is just about done. There were two servers today and they were both multitasking and on top of all their tables, and their demeanor just happens to be more casual comfort. Definitely wouldn’t dock them any service points. If you do tend to prefer more enthusiastic service, it might not be the best match, but theirs is still a service style that will get you what you need.

“Wow this place was amazing, I cannot wait to go back next time I’m in town!!! The menu was a unique take on brunch familiar brunch items. Everything sounded so good it was tough to decide what to get. We all got different meals to share and all of it was delicious! And pretty big portions, oh it was SO good. I had a medicinal mushroom coffee tasted great and had me feeling great all day.”

“City Coffee House & Creperie is a great place to escape, the vibe is that of a hidden cafe. The food is always great, I love their lemon curd crepe, opted for the waffle this time to celebrate National Pancake Day (a waffle is just a pancake with cups to hold the syrup I’ve been told). You cannot go wrong with any selection on the board. Fresh ingredients and great staff!!”

“I had the best experience and it was all thanks to our amazing server, Kiersten. She was quick, funny, and incredibly personable from the moment we sat down. There was a little mix-up with our order, and she noticed it right away and fixed it immediately, pure professionalism.

The mushroom pizza was phenomenal. One of the best pizzas I’ve had in a long time. The Old Fashioned was fantastic. Must try the maple pecan gelato! Risotto balls - chefs kiss!

I asked Allison for some recommendations as I was looking for a meal replacement. She was super friendly and helpful with my decision. “As a long time customer of the Posh Nosh, I have to say the service, atmosphere , and food is impressive. The Rachel is my go to sandwich, however , any sandwich will satisfy any palate. The Matzo Ball soup and Chile are two of my favorites as well. Kudos to the new owner for sprucing up the restaurant.”
