“This was such a cute little family owned restaurant. While it looked like most people picked up for delivery, you can eat in and they give you paper plates. We ordered the popcorn chicken which had fried basil in it and it was so unexpected and delicious! My littles loved the stir fry noodles. Also unexpected was what they called Chicken Chili stir fry! “Moving my reviews off Yelp. This one was originally published in 2016 but I was back multiple times. Great place!

I had never heard of this place before a yelp friend suggested we go there for lunch. Now that I know about them, I will certainly be back. In fact, I've already decided which of my customers will be my next lunch invite to the place.

I had a soup & sandwich combo. I was expecting a smaller portion of each that would add up to a whole meal. What I got was more like a whole sandwich and a bowl of soup with a fresh pretzel breadstick. Probably a meal and a half.

Everything was delicious! The au jus that came with their interpretation of a French dip was beefy without being overly salty. The bread was soft with a nice bit of chewiness. The beef was not the star of the sandwich and that was a little bit of a letdown. The high point though was the cheese. French dip is generally a very tasty sandwich but everything is better with brie! I also had their roasted red pepper soup. I probably should have consumed it first but I got really excited by the sandwich and that plan went right out the window. I did finish my soup and I enjoyed the salty, chewy breadstick very much. I ate more than I had planned to eat for lunch but everything was just so good!

A few quick observations:

* They seem to develop a line to the door at lunch. Go early, go late or plan to wait.
* Don't do the soup & sandwich unless you're really hungry.
* They have small brownies for a buck or so. I'm trying to avoid eating dessert with lunch these days but they were awfully tempting.“

The Matzo Ball soup and Chile are two of my favorites as well. Kudos to the new owner for sprucing up the restaurant.“

“The food is really good and always hot the new calabrian steak, shrimp and bucatini was got the steak was delicious got the soup with it me and my brother loved it and the chicken and shrimp carbonara was good and hot like always my mom loves getting it also just love the shrimp in it with salad my sister got the ravioli carbonara and she just love how good the ravioli where good in it also with a salad the appetizers were good also good we got the meatballs parmigiana, shrimp fritto misto and the spinach artichoke dip all where good it took forever for the spinach artichoke dip to come out but it was good in all love coming here 😊👍😁“

I especially appreciate the two fireplaces, which create a warm and inviting atmosphere. There is plenty of seating available, making it a comfortable place to dine, work, or meet with friends. Meals are served promptly, which adds to the overall positive experience.

“I came in on a day where it was REALLY busy and a lot was going on. Luckily, I had time to sit and wait for my food. I had ordered ahead and Linda and Kat at the front were was trying to help me find my food. Then, Jacquelyn came over to speak with me and hesitantly told me it could be 15-20 minutes. Told her it was no problem and I had my NYT games to play. She offered me a free drink while I waited, apologized profusely, and checked in whenever they were working on my order. It was a hectic day but the customer service was doing a great job.“

“I go to PB for soup.
Some time they fill full bowl, sometime almost half.
My friend had chicken soup but only 3 pics of 1/2inch cubes.
Manager always corrects it.
Suggest following :
1. Train and test your people regularly.
2. Use video at serving station for manager to see whenever...
3.for chicken, let us know how many cubes to expect in a large bowl or a cup.
PB is outstanding organization.They certainly don't want to shortcut on details.
Manag3nt has work cut out to address above problems.

“Food was great and prices were as to be expected at a nicer restaurant but the location of the resteraunt was the big con to our time. It was located right next to all the Casino. So we literally had to listen and look at that separated but a metal rail. It was loud and uncomfortable. But other than that a great time.“

“I have been coming to Joy Luck for many many years. In all the times I have patroned this restaurant, it has NEVER disappointed. The atmosphere is classy yet comfortable with the perfect amount of lighting and an aroma of freshly made cuisine that gets your mouth watering as soon as you enter. As for the food; I have occasionally ordered an entrée, which was absolutely perfectly prepared, but I mostly order the buffet. The buffet is quite possibly the best in St. Louis. It continuously has the freshest selections from their salad items all the way to their hot foods. No matter the time or day, I walk out, not only impressed, but left wishing I had not gotten that last plate. It is absolutely delicious. The staff who see you are taken care of are attentive and eager to assist you in any way they can. I never thirst for a refill, that's for sure!! Overall, Joy Luck is by far one of the best restaurants in St. Louis I have ever experienced, and I look forward to my next visit.“
