“Traveling from NW Indiana my wife and I stayed a couple nights here and made it to the bar for a couple night caps after our days of enjoying the town. Each evening Jennie K was our bartender and needless to say she’s AMAZING! Her drink knowledge and bubbly personality is a quality trait hard to find these days. She’ll dazzle you with her knowledge of Triple Sec! Highly recommend you stop in here if you’re in the area. We’ll definitely be back.“

“I love the Fireplace. It's basically a neighborhood type dive bar. Very friendly people, good drinks and small food offering. They have a pool table, game machines and the best karaoke on Fri and Sat nights.

They have recently had a bit of a facelift and the place looks great. They have also elevated their drinks with holiday special menus. I love the fall caramel apple martini! DELICIOUS! They also make a great white russian for a reasonable price. I've had the smore's dessert which is a cool experience and the pizza which is consistent and good. Service is quick and friendly and sometimes they even have a employee offering food samples.

I really enjoy that the karaoke crowd is kind and there to have a good time. They are friendly and will sing with you and cheer you on. The guy who runs karaoke is polite and does his best with your songs and rotating the list of singers.

They also have the cleanest restrooms I have ever experienced in a bar! This is not the kind of bar you go to and avoid using the restrooms, its one where you feel comfortable and they always have soap and towels for handwashing!

The only downside is that their parking lot is tiny and once its full, you are basically out of luck. There isn't any overflow parking, so I do recommend carpooling if you can.

In discussing further of no tip, she advised me not to come back in if I’m not playing the music that makes HER happy if not expecting for it to be turned off or for anger to go to other patrons which made me feel discriminated and responsible for others bad times. In drinking my drink in an almost empty bar, NOW, I’m taking seats up and mich as before amassing people around her to bully. This isn’t right and MEG SHOULD BE FIRED but at the very least a case is coming as she informed me her and the owner talk often and hertreatment is of the bar. As Meg stated if I want different treatment don’t come on her shift vs trying to make things right. My biggest fear is retaliation for speaking out CONTINUALLY on the same issue and we are still here and I AM BANNNED. “Kt's used to be my go to bar at the end of a night of drinking to go dance and hear live music and now I find it as one of my Go to Spots any time of the day or night and any day of the week or weekend. Best bartenders. Elizabeth and Chris are the best! A good gal pal and myself had a little Birthday celebration there this past April and I was able to hang out with the Owner Angie whose by far one of the most down to Earth fun yet business savvy women I've ever met. She keeps making Kts a better spot and a reason to go to constantly. Highly recommend going too.“

“I noticed some inaccuracies in the Dec 2024 M reeves review I'd like to point out. Tony's beer is cold & it doesn't cost $7 The only hot food available for purchase is pizza however the owner & her daughter (Pat & Diane) provide FREE food for numerous celebrations throughout the year. They also sell chips. Tony's has a lot of regular customers. I've been going there once or twice a month for years & if there's a secret handshake that's a well kept secret! Tony's is & has been a family owned bar a long time. Their prices are on the low end of the spectrum & if you get in a fight you're banned. Usually for life. Newcomers are always welcome, attitudes are not.“

“I never even knew this place was here, 15 minutes from where i live. It is cozy with a cool atmosphere for music. It almost reminded me of a small pageant. Its in a historic building. The inside has a nice feel with exposed brick, wood, beams, and wiring but tastefully decorated. Nice bar is there. they DO NOT SERVE FOOD, but they allow patrons to bring in takeout. Im so glad I discovered it. I will be back.“

“I did not eat there. I went for a wonderful Christmas market that had a big screen and Christmas cartoons playing for the kids as well as a large bubble machine. I bought all my holiday gifts , every booth was more creative and unique than the rest and the nicest vendors. I even met one vendor in a central location that evening because I had no cash left and she met me with her husband after I could go to the bank“

“Went to the Ritz last night for their New Years Celebration. My shoe strap broke when walking in and I didn’t know what to do. But the staff there saved the day. I’ve never experienced such amazing hospitality. They saw me struggling and came to my rescue. Shoutout to Kenna for helping me. She not only offered a solution, but she sat on the floor and took 10 minutes to fix my shoe herself. All of the staff are so amazing and kind. My shoe stayed on all night and I was able to fully enjoy their amazing party. Thank you guys again ❤️“

“I’ve ignored this place over the decades, assuming it was a typical dive bar. A friend assured me the food was great and I should try it. Understatement! Believe it or not I’m a hypercritical person but I could find no fault at Michael’s. During both of my visits, everything everyone ordered was cooked and seasoned beautifully. So far I can highly recommend the Greek salad (standout among the large number of Greek salads I’ve tried), the rack of lamb and the galaktoboureko - a house-made dessert consisting mainly of a fluffy custard and phyllo dough. Even the side vegetables and rice were wonderful. The beer and wine selection was good as well and I wrote down my wine to look into buying a bottle. The many servers were extremely busy and professional and our server Amy did a helluva job. Large rack of lamb with sides, entree-sized Greek salad, two beers, wine and dessert for only $80 -which for the quality of our dinner was quite a bargain. Generic name belies quality cooking and serving! Pass it on!“

“First time visit. Went for our anniversary. The attention to detail was excellent. We've spent a lot more at similar steakhouses and haven't had nearly the wonderful experience as we had here! Being seated by the manager was a nice touch. Prior to going, the only thing we knew was that it was attached to a Holiday Inn, which made us suspect and we thought we'd be severely disappointed. But since it got a good rating on Yelp we chanced it-- we're so glad we did! The cocktails were delicious and interesting. The wine list superb. We LOVED the salads that arrived "family style"- a Caesar and a mixed-greens salad choice. They came with homemade dressings that I wanted to drink from the bowls! Our steaks were cooked to our liking. I ordered the filet Oscar style and it was delicious! There were many choices of sides from which to choose. We ordered the whipped potatoes, asparagus, and the pepper cream sauce for my wife's filet and they were all yummy! Finally, we were given a free large slice of their "wedding cake" (vanilla cake with a phenomenal almond buttercream frosting) for dessert and devoured it! Don't hesitate going here. We think you'll enjoy it as much as we did!!“

“My husband has been dying to try Katie's for some time now. We made our way here excited to experience real, fresh, delicious Italian food. Instantly walking up there's a nice outdoor vibe, not overly fancy, but very pleasant with outdoor lights, plenty of shaded area, plants for decor, and seating for various group sizes. The inside is also a fresh and modern decor. You're instantly greeted to be seated inside or out. I noticed right away their branding, pasta to cook at home and sauces for sale. The pasta is near white, which you know means it's real! So we knew we were in for a treat. Upon being seated we looked over the menu and couldn't decide what to try (note: there is a lot of Italian lingo on the menu). Luckily, with the help of our very friendly and sweet waitress, she was able to give us her recommendations and explain some of the other options to us. We decided to go all out and get started with bread service and the cheese sticks (note: some names of items were more Italian-I'm giving you the English cliff note version). That bread is AMAZING!!!! So fresh and delicious!! I loved the airy texture and simple but yet delicious flavor of the simplicity of fresh ingredients and love. The flake salt on top just hit the nail on the head. As for the cheese sticks, the breading was a softer texture but crispy from the cook. They were very large in size with a fresh cheese inside. Hot and delicious. The theme to this review is definitely how much you can taste the freshness and overall care and dedication this chef has to their food. It comes served with a side of marinara. There were 6 sticks total (our picture was a little late). We ended up choosing a pepperoni pizza (just plain style not the ezzo on the menu with spice and honey-my husband let me have my way), the fiama Marla bolognese, & the kids marinara spaghetti. The pizza was everything and more! Thin but fluffy crust, tons of flavor, cheese was the perfect ratio with a good amount of pepperoni too. It is not overly sauced, which we both enjoyed. Again, super fresh, perfect consistency on the crust and delectable flavor! My son (pickiest eater alive-meaning we had to flip the spaghetti over so that it hid the Parmesan Romano) LOVED his spaghetti! The noodles were more al dente than I cook them, but yet it tasted perfect! Both the hubs and I said we'd totally get the spaghetti with meatballs on our next visit. Now, as for the bolognese, we actually did not care for this one. It had a different, almost bitter taste we couldn't identify. The noodles in it though, so fresh and cooked perfectly!!! Plus, they were thick and delicious like no where else in St. Louis. All the portions were large, even the kids! They are also sauced in the best way, not overly sauced. I think what we figured out was that this place doesn't have to over compensate for anything because they use quality ingredients that they let shine in their cooking-it's that freshness and care that they are able to share the story of real Italian food! We loved that! It definitely shines at Katie's! Our waitress did a great job to come back and check in with us about flavors and any needs we might have-even with two young kids with us, she acknowledged them too. To our surprise when we advised at the boxing stage that we just didn't care for the bolognese, she had her manager come out and he apologized, even though it was our taste we made clear that was probably the issue, not them. In the end, he still comped that plate-not at all necessary, but overly gracious and it really shows of how much their service matters to them. That in itself rates high with us! You just don't find that kind of hospitality anywhere now days. We really felt like we were part of a family coming here to eat. That's just how they treated you. In addition they have a ton of Italian desserts we saved for the next trip, as well as a great wine list and Coke products for drinks. The restrooms were clean and everything was well kept. “This place doesn’t look like much from the parking lot but man what a hidden gem. My husband I visited here for the first time tonight. We actually met playing league 25 years ago and I played competitively for several years. We haven’t been to a billiard hall since we moved to STL. I’ve seen this place when visiting Porter’s Chicken next door for lunch so I figured why not give it a shot. I was pretty excited to see the 7ft Diamond tables that had recently been redone. The tables play incredibly smooth and fast. All the rails on the table were in amazing shape as well. At $9.00 an hour for two people the rates were very reasonable for such amazing tables. They had sitting tables and wall table tops with places to safely sit your cues. My only complaint about the tables is the arrangement. I think if they reworked the placement there would be less congestion between some of the tables. I try to be a polite player and avidly watch to stay out of people’s way while shooting. Sometimes you didn’t have enough room for two players on separate tables to be in the same space. The thing that really seals the deal for me as a woman player is the atmosphere. Had my husband not been there I’d feel very safe going alone. Not sure what it’s like there late at night but before 9pm there were lots of other females and that says a lot about the place. Everyone there genuinely liked playing so the atmosphere was light and really enjoyable. Restrooms are clean and service was great. Can’t wait to go back!!“
