“This is our “go to” for great Chinese food. \nWe love the spicy chicken lo mein.. \nThe Springfield cashew chicken is fabulous too.\nThe restaurant is very nice and clean, but we usually like to bring our food home. The only neg. thing I would say, is that I would like more rice with my take out entrée. They give you a tiny tiny little thing of rice with your takeout entrée. We’re used to getting the bigger size carton at other places. I know you’ll be pleased if you try this Neighborhood restaurant out.“

“I don't live in Independence anymore, but even from the West Coast where Asian cuisine is supposed to be top notch, I still think about Golden Rice almost everyday. I love their chicken, and their green beans are so damn good that I forget how much I hated green beans as a kid. Like... I HATED green beans.
I'm visiting soon, and I'm going to make it a point to visit this time.“

Drive through only. I appreciate that. This is probably the best Chinese food I've ever had. The orange chicken is top notch. The chicken is good quality, no gristle pieces that usually come in Chinese food. The rice is so flavorful, it's even a yellowish color like it's cooked in something. My new favorite spot.“

“Great food, I had shrimp curry with only onions and water chestnuts for veges, my wife had pork fried rice, and we shared crab Rangoon. The crab Rangoon pieces were huge. Big portion sizes so we have plenty for lunch tomorrow and our entrees were put in very sturdy containers. We’ll go there again!!“

“Super big portions, me and my mom were starving and neither of us finished our food. Great deal for the price and the employees were great considering the card machine was broken. We loved it and are defintely coming back for the big portions, great peices for the amount of food, and amazing service“

“Ordered the Tso’s Chicken with fried rice. The Tso’s chicken was phenomenal. Huge portion of chicken, crispy, and the sauce was perfect. My photo is actually after I had already eaten. Could easily make 3 meals + out of the order. The fried rice was very good, just wish it had more vegetables and egg.. it was mostly just rice. Overall great food - will definitely order again!“

“Wow. Today was our first visit to China Star and we will most definitely be back. The egg drop soup was delicious, as were the egg rolls, and my shrimp lo mein was flavored nicely and the shrimp was done perfectly. Everything tasted so fresh.“

“Great quick and tasty Chinese food with excellent lunch specials. I usually call ahead and place my order and they will get it done in 15 minutes. They have a variety of food options you can choose. It is very convenient and you may also dine in, but it is a small place.“

“Food is great! Service is mediocre at best, almost makes you not want to order from there. Never a friendly smile when picking up food, spent over $80 and the owner tried to charge me for extra sweet and sour sauce while giving me one small cup for 5 meals.“

“Bo Lings has long been a staple for quality Chinese cuisine in Kansas City. The menu is extensive, offering a range of traditional dishes alongside American-Chinese favorites, making it a solid choice for both adventurous eaters and those looking for comfort classics.
Service is typically friendly and attentive, though on busy nights it can get a bit slow. The interior is clean, with a nice blend of casual and upscale vibes, making it suitable for both family outings and date nights.
Prices are fair for the quality and quantity of food, especially considering the care put into each dish. If you're looking for authentic, well-prepared Chinese food in a comfortable setting, Bo Lings is definitely worth a visit.
As always tell em The Damian sent ya!“

“This is one of our favorite Chinese restaurants! The dine-in experience is always fresh and hot, with generous portions at excellent prices. The service is top-notch, and the scallops are impressive—large and perfectly cooked, not the small ones you find elsewhere. Highly recommend!“

“I loved this spot years ago when I worked downtown. Decided to revisit recently due to craving good Chinese food. They did not disappoint. Still hands down the best seasoned rice that I have had in KC. Workers are eager to please. I love it here, I like my rice extra spicy with extra onion. 🔥 Inside pretty small but they have take out and delivery. Keep this place alive, a great little hidden gem!“

“Wow! We have eaten here many times and been very delighted with the food. Today however was a different story. This is the first time we have ever ordered on a Sunday. Maybe the lower quality was because they were trying to use up food because they are closed tomorrow? We ordered general's chicken chicken lo mein and egg rolls. The egg rolls were obviously reheated in the microwave and so chewy that we could not even invite them. The chicken lo mein was awful. I guess the low main part was okay but the chicken tasted like chicken that had been in someone's refrigerator for three or four days and been reheated. Although the general's chicken the chicken was good, you could not even bite through the onions and the broccoli was hard as a rock. Because we have had good prior experiences I will try to order here again but maybe not on a sunday?“

“I’ve been eating at this restaurant for as long as I can remember and the food is phenomenal. The staff are kind and polite. I have many fond memories of meals with my family here at this place when I was a child and now I have shared this place with my own family and they are hooked, too.“

“excellent food! Some of the best Chinese takeout I’ve had in this area. They have a different take on the pork fried rice. It’s not roast pork. They cook the pork differently, giving the rice a altogether improved flavor. I went basic with the chicken wings and they are to die for. This place is a hidden gem.“

“Food and service was amazing for what me and my wife got they were also willing to give her a different dish she forgot to tell them she didn't want vegetables with no arguing they were quick to change music was loud hard to hear over it and also the setting was nice
Parking: Getting a parking space is easy backing out and driving to the street is a little more difficult when parking lot is full“

“Great prices. Amazing prices. Average to good food. Every once in awhile you will have to deal with a weird inconvenience like someone is buying an artificial Christmas tree out back and that delays things ten minutes or three is a delivery truck literally blocking in every single car in the parking lot. Otherwise it's probably the best priced Chinese food in Independence.“

“Laid back atmosphere. Come in and get a plate. All the food we had was yummy and fresh. Super nice people that work here, very welcoming and kind. We all actually had multiple things that we'd never had at a buffet before. My nephews, Remy and Roman chose here for their 10th birthday dinner and they were 100% satisfied. And they'll be back“

“This place has the best crab rangoons I’ve had anywhere around KC and I grew up at Lotawana where we had some great Chinese food options in south Blue Springs. I recommend their veggie Moo Shu (extra pancakes)!
The staff is very diverse and the table service design is both modern and classic. Very classy and inclusive, I have confidence that the kitchen is sanitary and consistently in order. The restaurant is almost 6 miles away from me but they deliver to us. Must try if you live in the northland and want some food delivered or take a small group out to eat!
P.S. they have Springfield Cashew Chicken!“

“Hands down the BEST Crab Rangoon you'll find anywhere!! Not bland at all!! And the fried rice is amazing! They actually give you extra broccoli if you ask! Sorry but everywhere else we've tried I've never received the extra broccoli when I ask! You won't regret ordering or eating in from here!“

“First time there. Ordered pork lomein, it was decent, full of flavor and the fact it had broccoli was a plus. My only thing was it was the tenderloin style pork, and I prefer the regular sliced/strip meat. The portion size was very good, enough for at least 2 or 3 meals. Next time I will try the fried rice.“

“Foods good! Its just pretty expensive! I do believe it is family owned tho and they are always very friendly and welcoming. Food is made fresh, I've never once gotten food that wasn't straight out of the oven here. If you can afford to spend like $50 for two people to eat, definitely do. I'd rather my money go to a family owned place than a corporation anyway“

“I can’t say I have ever had a bad experience at Mr. Le’s. I honestly never liked any other sushi or pho from another place. Love the atmosphere and always feel so welcome walking in But ever since they have had new ownership I’ve been disappointed. Hours have been cut and now they stop orders 30min before close?“

“One of my favorite sushi spots! The location is convenient, the staff are always friendly, and the food is wonderful! I live very nearby, so being able to walk to a nice restaurant without needing a vehicle is very nice. They also offer very reasonable and affordable prices on their menu, as well as some more expensive items for a bit more luxury if you so desire!
They have a lot of good options, and I never worry about the freshness of their fish. Although, my favorites are the Hokkaido roll and the Kyoto roll, usually with a small bottle of their green apple or white peach sake.
The atmosphere is lovely with their easy seating, colorful banners, and art decor. And they have a wonderful service as well.
This last time tonight when my girlfriend and I ordered, they also gave us an extra bottle of sake on the house! I was very touched by this.
Overall, I will continue to be a customer to this lovely little sushi spot! It's not in the biggest area, but please give it the love it deserves!“
