“Great lux lounge vibe and our server was very sweet. The drinks are intriguing and clever. There's no coffee, which was odd for a bar, but there was cold espresso so made due with that. The chicken caprese sandwich was nasty. Caprese is fresh mozzarella and when combined with chicken you expect chicken breast and fresh mozzarella. But it was sliced mozzarella, that was somehow melted on untoasted bread that got soggy because the chicken was shredded. The dessert dip was really good though. Overall a cute spot!“

“Loved the staff and atmosphere so much! We’re calling this our sister bar as we own a “Marty’s” in Alabama. My husband and I were traveling and happened upon this lovely place. “Sad to say we had a very bad experience with lunch here yesterday. I had the catfish sandwich and my wife ordered the side of roasted vegetables. My sandwich was just okay, could have used more sauce on it. The roasted vegetables were only sliced yellow squash swimming in butter in a small bowl. We sent that back. I suggest they provide a better description of their roasted vegetables. Meg our waitress did a good job and refunded the vegetables cost. We've been there several times and always enjoyed our meal, I hope this was just an off day.“

“Our favorite when visiting Springfield Missouri.“

“I used to LOVE this place. The vibe was amazing, the KJ had personality, and the songs kept rolling so fast that they had the next singer on deck before the previous song was over. Tonight for my birthday, my husband and I decided to stop in since it had been a while. We walked in to a god-awful song that wasn't fast at all but when I put in Cold for my husband,the KJ refused to even consider it claiming that it wasn't upbeat enough for a Saturday night. I assured her it was a crowd pleaser but no luck. We swapped the song for a faster one and couldn't help noticing as we sat there waiting how much business had fallen off from the last time we were in there. Throughout our wait, we observed as the KJ played full length songs in between each singer and sat and talked with friends, went to get herself a drink, and generally didn't do anything to move the singer list along. After more than an hour waiting when we had been told there were only 16 singers, I went up to check how far we had progressed in the list. She told me that there were still five or six more singers to go before I was up. At that point I asked her if she was even using a list and she assured me she was although I had just watched her go through and check names off willy nilly and not in any kind of order. At that point, I was frustrated enough to let her know that what she was doing was not acceptable for a KJ on a Saturday night. Rather than apologize and work to fix it, she adopted a whining petulant tone that reminded me more of my 7-year-old than a grown adult who had just screamed out "f*ck you" lyrics on the song she made sure she got into the lineup and then proceeded to tell me how it wasn't her fault because she was "trying to fix the sound." The sound was fine. There was nothing wrong with it other than the fact that she clearly didn't know what she was doing. Beyond being a frustrated patron who sat for an hour and wasted my money at an establishment where I didn't get to sing when that's the intended purpose at a karaoke bar, I listened to numerous patrons discuss how things had declined. I listened to staff who have said they don't understand why the owner is letting this go on so long. I heard two different servers state that they will be leaving because they can't make money there anymore since she's been the KJ and the bartenders admitted it's been hurting them too. The purpose of an establishment like that is to make money. I don't know what the deal is behind keeping a KJ that doesn't bring in customers but the logic isn't working for me. She's running off customers and ruining the income for your bartenders and waitstaff. She has taken a place that used to have a 30 to 50 person singer list down to 16 on a Saturday night and still can't manage to figure out what she's doing wrong. All I know is this: if she's not willing to learn and improve and she's driving off customers, and the owner isn't willing to fix the problem, there's no way on this earth I would ever recommend this place again.“

“My husband and I celebrated our 43rd Anniversary at Char last night. Everything was wonderful, in my opinion!! My steak was cooked as requested since I'm on a low sodium diet. The Char salad was so much better than I expected! Our server, Justin, did over and beyond to make our dinner a great time.“

“Dennis’ Place is a solid 4-star spot and one of our favorite hole-in-the-wall pool halls. The drinks are fairly cheap, and it’s a great place to just hang out, play pool, and have a good time. It’s got that laid-back, no-frills vibe that makes it easy to keep coming back.

That said, if you’re not actively drinking or ordering food, the service can come off a little rude at times. It also gets pretty busy on weekends, so be ready for a crowd.

Overall though, it’s always a fun time and a go-to spot for us.“

“Really hit or miss on the quality. last week, got the guiltless sirloin, and it was amazing. choice cut, tender, flavorful. this week, same order, but it was the worst cut of meat I've had in a restaurant. Tough, chewy, so much tendon throughout that I had to spit out most of it. if I had gotten it in store, instead of to-go, I would have sent it back for another one, but I couldn't drive back to complain.“
