“I have visited this location quite a few times. Each time everyone is very friendly but they always seem to be under staffed. So of course there is a bit of a wait for my order. The location is very clean and quiet.
The only real issue is the possible staffing shortage. When they are busy it takes quite some time to even place an order. But other than that, this location is my favorite.“

“Great atmosphere! I love all the colors and the inspiring vibe. There are lots of seating options to choose from—whether you prefer a soft, cozy seat or a taller, bar-height spot. There’s even a workspace that’s super soothing.

I had my usual vanilla latte, and it was delicious—no complaints! It came in a glass instead of a mug, but that’s not a big deal. The music was awesome too. I didn’t even bother putting on my own playlist because it felt like they were already playing my favorite songs.

Perfect spot for working with others or just getting things done solo.“

“Years ago I ordered a coffee here. It was single origin that they prepare fresh. I asked for half and half on the side.

Five minutes later the coffee comes out and I say, “oh could I get that half and half?”

The barista looks at me sideways and says, “did you want to try it first?”

I mimed drinking and enthusiastically enjoying it, then said, “can I get that half and half?”

All this to say, they’re intense, but they care about their coffee. Its for the better.

“My friend told me about Shaw's Coffee half a year ago. As a regional coffee connoisseur, I added it to my STL coffee list and popped in one random day.

The building itself is stunning, the high ceilings and gorgeous tin ceiling make it feel cozy even on the rainiest of days. There are a handful of tables inside and outside of Shaw's and can be hard to score on the weekend. I suggest asking a lone person at a 4 top if they wouldn't mind sharing as the customers are overall friendly.

My favorite days at Shaw's are when Shane roasts the coffee beans 🫘 right in front of you. The whole store smells like coffee heaven and makes me want to purr like a contented cat. I wish they would do talks about roasting, the process and machine etc. But maybe that is just me being a nerd.

The bariastas are so patient, friendly and kind! When the seasonal drinks change they are always helpful to recommend what they like (which I enjoy !). Order a coffee flight! Try all the delicious seasonal varieties and then try them again a few weeks later when the newest flavors change over.

“We ate at La Belle Vie this morning and were amazed at the portion sizes, how well seasoned everything was and the cook on our food. The coffee was delicious and they even make their own chai which is the best we’ve had at any coffee shop. We make our own and are quite picky and would absolutely order again! We are self proclaimed food snobs who have catered small and large events with everything made from scratch. This is now one of our favorite places and we’re so happy to have found them. The service was friendly and helpful. We met the owners who are absolute gems and their staff exudes the same happy, friendly attitude. Must try. Must go back again and again. “Nice cozy setting that’s good for catching up with friends or getting some studying/work done. Coffee tasted pretty good but food (lunch) was kind of meh. We got chipotle chicken sandwich and turkey pesto club. The chicken was bland and kind of chewy in places. The turkey club was below average. It wasn’t toasted and didn’t even have a slice of tomato. Pesto was minimal with pretty boring nonexistent flavors. Might go back to try some breakfast and more coffee.“
