“We hired Outer Banks Boil Company for our wedding in September, and it was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. From the moment we walked into the shop in Oak Island, Josh made us feel like friends. Not only did he help us out with food and catering logistics, but he was a resource for other recommendations of vendors or service providers on the island. We honestly couldn't have pulled together our wedding-day team without his recommendations. He and his team were the epitome of professionalism and kindness throughout the event, and everyone was so impressed with the energy they brought to our wedding day. And the food...the food was out of this world. Our guests said some of the best food they'd ever had at a wedding. Highly recommend Josh and OBX Boil Company for any event you are having on the island or on the coast, you and your guests will be in for a treat! Can't wait for more boils to come with this team, thanks again y'all!

“This is the best restaurant in Southport. The chef is amazing with outstanding dishes such as maple pecan salmon over risotto and the bourbon bread pudding with home made salted caramel ice cream. The service is always great and Kimberly was no exception on our recent visit. In addition, Barbara at the front desk was so helpful and a charm to talk with about all kind of things including her devotion to adopt and care for senior doggies. This is always one of our highlights on our long journey at sea from Maryland to South Florida.“

“We were a party of 8 adults, the evening after Valentines Day. Our server, Bo, was absolutely amazing! He provided the best service with a smile and laugh that you could ever want! The food is always top notch! The local fish, unicorn and crab dish, was out of this world! The crab cakes and scallops were perfectly prepared. The Mac and cheese was delicious. “We have had dinner there twice in the last two weeks. It was delicious! No problems. Great service. And the special last night was prime rib....for $22.00! What a bargain. We love to eat there. Seafood platters are a bargain too!“

“I had a great Ahi tuna sandwich. I did not see gluten free bun options. If you have a serious issue with gluten I would not eat here. However the food was really good. My tuna was cooked to perfection. I sat outside on the covered porch and enjoyed looking at the boats.“

“This is absolutely my favorite restaurant in Brunswick County. The location, atmosphere, exceptional waitresses and waiters and the best menu. I'm an hour away or I would be there more often. For the old lady birthdays celebrations The Rusty Hook is my go to. Will be the this Sunday and cannot wait. Never disappointed.“

“Food is good enough. Not the best Chinese food like what I’m used to, but they do have all the basics that everybody loves. I had vegetable lo mein, chicken fried rice and chicken wings. The fried rice didn’t have much flavor but soy sauce and other sauces should fix that. Being inside of the restaurant seemed a bit depressing because they do need an upgrade.“

“Have not been in a bit but went today for our weekly Sunday funday with a group of 7. They were very accommodating & happy to seat us. Our waitress was Tori & she was fabulous. Very nice & very, very efficient!! The wings were perfect & only $1 each on Sundays. Definitely a new fav!!!! The avacado salad with grilled chicken was delicious! We all want to try it!! And we can’t forget the sweet potato tater tots!!! Addicting!!! We lol had a great time & plan to keep them in our Sunday rotation! Great job 49’th Street!!!!!“

“I feel the need to review this place since I had suspicions, but then they were false because it was actually good, and other websites like Yelp and TripAdvisor may not tell you to go there. Horizons is a great/good seafood restaurant located in the Bald Head Island Club. I love the golf carts, and good thing they had a parking space for them- which was meant to keep them from being too hot since it was covered by a roof. The elevator is very unique: you step in one one side, and you go out the other once you're there. Originally I thought it'd be like the sign on the front (that kind of restaurants judging from it), but it wasn't. It looked better than that. We sat outside with a party of 7, and our server was the myth, the (wo)man, the legend: Taylor. She was very nice and lightened the atmosphere for us. Whenever it was too sunny, she didn't mind the whole switching the entire seating of the table around kind of thing. She is very comical, too. Anyways, for appetizers, our table got the Crab Dip and a Pub Pretzel. I do not know what was in that crab dip (except crab), but HOLY SMOKES THAT WAS INCREDIBLE. It reminded me of some other dish, and I loved it. Pretzel was also good. For entrees, our table ordered 2 things of chicken tenders, buffalo wings, a caesar salad (maybe a different one), a Cape Fear burger, the shrimp or scallop risotto (i couldn't remember since I'm writing this the day after the meal), and the pan-seared Halibut. The food was good, but not amazing. For Bald Head standards, I'll give this a 5 star. For my regular standards, I'll give it a 4.
Also, I believe the seagulls raided some table at the far back. Although that happened, it was pretty funny to me.“
