“The steak was without doubt one of the best I have ever had. Of course me being me, I forgot to take photos. The steak was near perfect cooked with a sear producing a good crust and an amazing tenderness with much flavor.The pan seared tuna had great flavor but the sauce with it left a bitter taste within my mouth, overall it was good.Charcuterie board had a wide selection. Some of the cheeses were extremely stiff though. All else was good.The drinks and cocktails were all prepared very well. Wine selection was good.Prices vary by menu items greatly, I’d say range per person with apps and meal and drink is ~90-125 for dinner.“
“Such a cute little ice cream shop. We had a bunch of different flavors (cookiejar, chocolate moose tracks, peanut butter cup, and something else). To make a long story short…the ice cream was super yummy and the flavors were so unique! Totally recommend.PS. Our dogs loved the french vanilla! Who ever served us was super nice and allowed us to bring in our dogs briefly so we could choose what flavors we wanted.“
“Great experience at Primo. The atmosphere was comfortable, yet refined. The waitstaff was attentive and helpful. Each staff member took pride in their craft. Hats off to Parker for great wine selection and expert mixology. Tyler was very attentive and the flambe chef entertained the entire room. Definitely a diamond of a find in Banner Elk.“
“Best wings I’ve ever had. Also never heard of a pizzadilla before but it was amazing especially with the home made ranch. My husband said you can taste the dill in it, it was really good, I wish I could take it back home with me. We came to the area for our honeymoon and we’ve made a trip their 3 times this week because of how good their food is and my husband loves their velvet panda oatmeal stout and the copper elk ale.“
“We love the BBQ here. Our go to place in the high country for pulled pork and ribs. We often do take-outs but sometimes dine in. We always find take out service to be better than dine in for some reasons. Dine in service is often slower and dismissive when on less busy times. Guess we will stick to take outs, food is great!“

The food was amazing.3/29/24 We were seated and waited a few for our waitress to come greet usShe took our order and brought our drinks, and food came out about 10- 15 mins later. I had the BBQ plate with onion rings and black-eyed peas. He had the cheese burger melt and fries. Mine was good. The bbq was a little wetter than I liked it but had good flavor. The black-eyed peas were also really good, firm, and not mushy at all. The onion rings were crispy and fresh. The burger melt looked really good and liked it. He had a beer and I a margarita, which was fresh and not overly sweet.“
“This place rocked!! We’d never been here and was looking for somewhere that did karaoke. After a bit of google searching we came across the Bayou. Called ahead with a party of 16 for a bachelorette party. And these guys knocked it out of the park. Our waitress was spot on! Super attentive, personable and organized. The food was delicious. The queso burger was so good and the mashed potatoes were mouth watering good. The DJ was energetic and upbeat. And the owner made us feel welcome and appreciated. Will definitely patronize again soon.“

“Delicious barbecue with a great selection of sauces. The sauces are all custom made and were created to go with the different types of smoked meats they offer. From the porch or around the building is a great view of Grandfather Mountain and Beech Mountain. The staff was very friendly, food was fast, and the atmosphere was cozy. Lots of other options (such as sandwiches and burgers) to try at another time!“
“Always a great experience! Enjoy crossing the Watauga River into the Pisgah National Forest to relax at the foot of Grandfather Winery hillside vineyards! So relaxing. Since reopening under pandemic protocols, no tastings. However, the walkup window is so convenient. Outdoor seating was increased to include socially distant tables, outdoor restrooms, and additional picnic tables along the riverbank. Learn about the connection to the ASU viticulture program and how the vineyard has given back $50,000 to the university. Highly recommend tasting a glass of The Scholar! There is a local Boone restaurant food truck on site for snacks and handheld sandwiches. Live music on the weekends.“
