“Great local spot for a beer and a good hang. Large parking lot makes it easy to get in and out. 4 TV's available in the tap room for viewing (feel free to ask for a channel change if needed). Food truck has unfortunately been closed for a long time but rotating food trucks are normally on site. There are a few light snack options. Always able to bring food from other spots or have something delivered. The bartenders are all nice and knowledgeable. For the nicer days there is a large outdoor patio to sit under cover. Corn hole and shuffleboard on site with ID deposit. Taproom has a kids area with a bunch of toys and coloring books as well as card and board games for the adults. Boom box bingo every 1st and 3rd Sunday from 7-9pm. 15 taps with several that rotate beers. ViDL wines available by the glass or bottle. Stop by and see us!“

If you love beer or cocktails and you need an early dinner, this is a great happy hour. You can get a huge chicken sandwich that tastes high quality for $9 or a delicious burger for $12. Drinks range from $3 - $10. They have plenty of cocktail and beer options during the happy hour as well. The only thing I wish they did was a red and white house wine with the happy hour menu as well. Other than that this is perfect for people who want a fancy delicious experience without the high price tag.

“We passed by Wagbar on our way to our Airbnb and just knew we had to visit. So many happy dogs playing, my dog was anxious to join everytime we passed by. I love that they take being up to date on vaccines serious. We were greeted by what I called the "Welcome committee" consisting of 3 huge golden retrievers. Got inside, ordered a few drinks and set Stash free. He was right away accepted into the group of dogs playing and shown around. Not only were all the dogs friendly and very social, but their owners were as well. Great conversations were had. Absolutely recommend this place. The employee working that day(can't remember her name) was amazing with the dogs. She took notice anytime the dogs were "bored". She would come out and entice them to play around. Hilarious seeing the regulars reaction to her approach because they KNEW what was up haha! Can't wait to visit again when we are in town.“

“The Low Down in West Asheville is absolutely amazing! It’s tucked just off Haywood next to The Hop you have to go downstairs to get to it, and the space is gorgeous. Everything here feels thoughtfully designed, from the decor to the lighting sconces, bar, booths, and wall art it’s unlike anywhere else. I wish I had taken pictures because it’s truly stunning.

The drinks are hand-crafted and top-notch, with some ingredients made in-house. Even the glassware is beautiful. There’s a fun game I’d never seen before they called it shuffleboard but not like my great grandads shuffle board, it was unique and the people playing it had a good time, and it adds to the vibe.

I went alone and sat at the bar, and the bartender was friendly, attentive, and fun to chat with even while busy. The overall vibe is a perfect mix of a warm, welcoming neighborhood bar with a classy, art-deco, decadent feel. Prices are fair, and the attention to detail is incredible. I’ve gone back twice, and each time it’s just as cozy, sophisticated, and enjoyable. I love this place!“

“I am one of the organizers for a monthly network gathering group. We chose to go to DSSOLVR and VOWL for our event this month. We had approximately 200 folks there this past Tuesday (January 14, 2024). The staff nailed it at both bars. Serving 200 people at one time can be a challenge... the staff did not disappoint. It was an extremely welcoming evening from the start to the finish. The owners and management were awesome to work with and delivered everything that they promised and more. They provided a DJ for us (DJ Abu Dissarray), which made the evening even that much more fun. Many of the event-goers had not been to either of these bars, but I heard from many folks that they planned on going back due to the friendliness of the staff and the treatment that we received. “I stay at this hotel way more than I care to admit, and make good use of the dining options. Very rarely do I venture out for food or drink because of what’s available at District 42.

The recent menu changes have been exceptional. Adding basic bar food like chicken tenders with fries was a smart choice and now offers something for the younger guests (e.g. kids). An update to the pizza offerings was the right move. The Ruben is so tasty (although the bread is so fresh it tends to fall apart). Paring down the dessert menu to a few items has also worked out. You. Must. Try. The. Olive. Oil. Cake.

“Fantastic food. Fantastic service. Lovely ambience in the space. It feels like the kitchen really cares about the food it brings out. One thing I particularly liked was how well all the dishes were seasoned. A bit of heat here, a bit of spice there, and a dash of sweet when needed. And speaking of sweet, the lemon curd cheesecake is a wonder. I love it when the cheesecake part of the cheesecake isn't oversweet. The lemon curd gives a sweet and tart compliment to the creaminess of the dairy in the dish. It's dangerous, I tell you! We'll be back for more.“
