“Bandido’s came to Chapel Hill when I did, in 1995. For a while, it was just the place across the alley from The Rat and I didn’t pay it much mind. When I did finally check it out, I discovered a spot that would soon become one of my regulars. From the quaint and quirky underground space to the famous salsa bar, this small restaurant packs a big punch! I usually get a shredded beef quesadilla. Who am I kidding, I always get a shredded beef quesadilla, and it never disappoints! If you are particularly hungry, perhaps you could try their 5-pound burrito food challenge—free T-shirt if you can finish in less than an hour.

Overall, I can highly recommend Bandido’s for quick, delicious, honest Mexican food.“

“Absolutely love the food here, and the price is pretty good. The horchata is great and one of my go-tos here. Also, the desserts are legendary: churros are made fresh and the flan is one of the best I've ever had. Overall, this place has a great vibe and it's one of if not my favorite spots in Franklin street.“

“Super nice folks working there so I’m not going to roast too badly. But, the prices at this location are WAY elevated compared to stand alone locations. Example: pizza is $4.99 at the stand alone location near me (way too much to start with) and $6.49 at the mall location. Nearly $10 for Mexican Pizza and a small drink. Just be aware….“

“I usually go to the Moes in Patterson place but this one was better. My husband always gets the white chicken and he said it tasted better and the burrito was neatly wrapped. I ordered a steak stack and it was delicious. I’m giving 4 stars because we both did not get a lot of chips. The chips were crispy and well seasoned as well.“
