“The Ugly isn't ugly, it's quite beautiful.

This is a neat bar near the tracks & Chamber by Wooden Robot. If you aren't looking for it, it's actually quite easy to miss.

Inside, there's old time bar mirrors & decor which fit the bar perfectly. The bartenders are quick & do a solid job.

There's option of different types of ugly cocktails but let's be honest, the $2 Narragansett is the best deal in Charlotte. The cocktails are affordable for Charlotte which gives them an edge over many other options nearby.

I'd recommend coming down, getting a gansett & a shot, & enjoy your time chatting with the locals.

“Full disclosure, I have not been here yet, however with David running the show over there I'm sure he's crushing it like everywhere he goes, I was fortunate to be his boss at Whiskey Tango years ago. One of the best bartenders I have worked with ( in all my years and that's a lot) With David though, as a bartender you're never really his boss, not that he doesn't listen he just really doesnt need direction. IHes that good. Keep on rocking it there sir.“

“The place was recommended by a co-worker and WOW! Their menu looked amazing and our selections tasted even better! Everyone in our office devoured their meals. The Cuban Fried Rice was TO DIE FOR! “The ambiance is spot on here. The lounge area where the music is, is setup just right and efficient. The bar is timeless and the staff is professional and feels like you’re picking up where you left off with an old friend. The drinks are poured with skill and love. We got there for a pre-dinner drink just when the music was about to start and by the time we finished dinner and got back out, the place was packed! Great place to start the night and listen to some live music.“

“I saw this place online and it looked delicious, so I brought the wife for a date night. We ordered the Fried Pork Belly and Cheese Balls for an appetizer, both were amazing. My wife ordered a chicken meal that she said was great and churros for her dessert that she said had the best flavor. I ordered the Brazilian BBQ, which is just a lot of different meats and it was huge and flavorful! We will definitely be back!
I will say the pictures on the menu make the food look alot smaller than it actually is, so be hungry!“

“Run, do not walk to Catalina. In the 9 months since opening, I have taken 5 or 6 different groups of people - and each time, they fall in love with the ambience, food, cocktails and welcoming staff. The Tuna Poke Bowl is probably may favorite, but it truly changes with each new visit. I promise it will quickly become one of your go-to spots!“

“We visited Charlotte for the Nascar Roval race and we were lucky enough to find this bar. We flew over from Dublin, and believe me Dublin has some good bars however this was one of the top bars I ever visited. Great value beer, full of friendly folk, great music and brilliant atmosphere. The Mexican fries were kind of disappointing, and so was the flatbread, but meh the drink were nicely balanced. Ambience was kicking. Music choice was a mix of urban/2000s/club/blends and remixes. Some people dressed nice, other like it was a college game day. Meh. CLT is sometimes classy, sometimes trashy..it is what it is.“

“We went to Red Rocks South Park for Queens Feast Saturday Everything was fabulous! Elizabeth is exceptional!! Loved every meal we’ve ever had there. The manager Graham came by our table and all 4 of us had so much fun chatting with him. I highly recommend going. Try to get Elizabeth’s table as she aims to please. And don’t leave without having a chat with Graham. You won’t be disappointed!“

“Thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Anju. We started with the seafood pancake which was actually more of a waffle. I prefer the traditional pancake but the waffle was good too. Next we split two entrees. We went with the bulgogi of course because it’s a classic. Also tried the spicy stir fried squid off the pop up menu. Loved this surf and turf combination. The cheesecake was the perfect ending. “This place has a huge selection of spirits and beer. Nice bar and space, with a little bit of outside seating. Awesome bartenders that are very creative, talented and friendly. They don't serve food, but alow you to bring food in. There is a great deli next door along with other places near by. Can't wait to visit again.

Parking: The only downside to this place being located in Southend, parking sucks and it's expensive. Just walk or rideshare so you can have more fun.

“Drove by this place for over 6 years as I work in the area. Finaly decided to stot by for a beer. Chill and down to earth place. Very friendly staff and prices are great. Pool tables and TVs are there for you to enjoy. Good variety of brown liquor. My only thing is that there are no local beers. Just the usual. Didn't have any food so I will have to come back.“

By the far the best place in Charlotte I have been to that offers hookah, sweet treats, and drinks. The service was PHENOMENAL nothing was left to be desired.
