“Today was my first time visiting and I had a wonderful experience. The food was amazing. The services were helpful and provided great customer service. You walk in and find a seat. The menus are available on the tables and a server comes over and waits on you. When you’re done you walk up to counter and pay. Overall 10/10“

“I grew up in Salisbury and lived there well into my adulthood. I live in Columbia, SC now but when I come back to town to visit my Mom, one of my favorite places to eat is at Checkered Flag. They’re food is really good but the hard working ladies who serve the customers is what makes it great. They take the time to talk to every customer at every table and it’s not just chit chat. They really want to know how you are and what they can do for you to make your visit perfect. They treat everyone like family but for those of us who come back again and again, we become family. Even for me, an out of towner, I even know two of the hard working ladies, Angela and Jen. Angela showed her hard working team spirit yesterday when, Jen, our server, was tied up with her other tables. Angela stepped in and took our order until Jen could get back over to us. This example of teamwork becomes contagious and I’m sure that Jen has done the same thing for Angela and all of her co-workers. Jen is such a joy to be around. Her personality oozes charisma and warmth and she makes you feel truly special because that is who she is!! I heartily recommend Checkered Flag for their great food and and their even greater people!! I rate them 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and 5 hearts!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️“

“Don't be fooled by the nostalgic setting or decor- the food is great!!! There is a great variety of food to choose from including chicken and dumplings, hot dogs, burgers, baked chicken, fried flounder, chicken pot pie, and a great selection of vegetables and sides. There are also daily specials. Our waitress was very nice and offered suggestions for the meal. No complaints-- everything we ordered was tasty. We'll go back to try the breakfast which is served until 2 o'clock.“

“We went to Longhorn right during the dinner service. The AC was out but everyone was still super friendly. We were sat immediately. Our server was Tasia J and we will definitely be back. She knew what we needed before we even asked. I had the ribeye and it was VERY HEAVILY peppered to the point I couldn’t eat it. I didn’t want to send it back since I had several bites. I asked Tasia if it was always like that and she said no. She took it back for me and got a new one with light seasoning. She was absolutely AMAZING. We will definitely return!“

“I wanted to take a few minutes and share the wonderful experience we had on Thursday, August 29th. A group of 12 of us came in for a birthday. We did not call ahead or make a reservation. We arrived at 6PM and was told there was unfortunately an hour or so wait (all good that's on us for not planning ahead better). The manager Matthew was very kind to us during our wait and kept apologizing.(no need again as it was our fault but we do appreciate the kindness) We had a very pleasant waiting experience & kept the Bartender Tiffany W busy 😉 while we waited on our table to be ready. She was busy , but provided EXCELLENT service during our (many trips) up to the bar 😆 We were seated by 7:30 & were greeted by 2 more WONDERFUL people - Kelly O & Haley F. They did fantastic during our entire visit , kept our drinks filled, etc. We finished up and paid around 9(also want to mention that the food was wonderful and everyones came out cooked just right & very timely!). “My cheese burger was so juicy. I requested a medium temp and it was cooked to perfection. My husband had the grilled chicken and he said it was also juicy and tasted great. It is so hard to find a place that knows how to cook hamburgers. You don't press the meat down when you are cooking it. You are pushing out all the flavor and moisture when this is done.“
