This place has a great aesthetic. Upon entering, you are greeted by retro. The bill's banana split caught my eye. When it arrived, the spoons were kind of greasy because of the bananas, so my fingers were all sticky at the end.I did think that there would be different flavors, but it consisted of just vanilla. The atmosphere is great, The breakfast menu explains mostly everything with little confusion and lists prices. The food quality was good with great taste. The waitress attended to us periodically and made sure we were happy. The waitress appeared to be upbeat and didn't hate her job like many restaurant workers do right now. Plenty of open space and room with tables. Ordered food and was at our table in about 5 to 10 minutes. Total time at the restaurant was maybe 30 minutes....read full review

I grew up in Davidson in the 70's and 80's.... I've been coming here since I was a kid. I have since moved away, but every time I visit, the Soda Shop is a must... Unfortunately the last few years the food and atmosphere has lost some of its nostalgic flavors. The Big "O" tasted more like orange concentrate instead of fresh OJ. Prices have gone up but quality has gone down. There was barely any egg salad on my egg salad sandwich. It's still a cute place to eat, but not the same.....
