Flash forward to almost a year later and almost every Saturday, you will find at least two of us knitting away, chatting with the staff and drinking the best beer in the Lake Norman area.Why do we keep going back? The new cook was cooking. We put half in to-go boxes and started on the other half. Stephanie asked us BOTH how the food was and we both said not good. We sent it back. The MAMA came back with attitude and said well y'all ate most of it, I'm not sure what you want.I looked at her (now this is the 3rd TIME SHE HAS BEEN RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL TO ME) one time I had been taking pictures of the spot to post on my Instagram to shout out the place. The MAMA started yelling at me I couldn't take pictures of the people(I KNOW). Once she informed me SHE WAS THE OWNER and it was her place and basically what she said went.Well, this time I was tired of her rudeness and I wanted to show my granddaughter that classy and my dollars make the difference between ignorant and rudeness. So I politely said excuse me. We didn't eat it all here's the other half of the food in the to-go boxes. She looked at us and the boxes and said oh. Took the to-go boxes to make completely new orders. I asked to make sure the cook had made my food and was remaking my food. She said yes. I didn't believe her. Because the young lady had NEVER MESSED UP AN ORDER OF MINE BEFORE.I told Stephanie what happened and I wouldn't be back.I miss that food, the other servers, and especially Stephanie, but I can't go back.So I really don't know how to answer the star questions. “We drove there just to get the Witchdoctors. They’re hard to find. I usually get them from the other Poplar Tent Rd restaurant but this one is closer to my house. They tasted wonderful but there weren’t any pickles in the bottom of the cup. That’s my favorite part. If anyone reads this from the restaurant, can you please start putting pickles in the drinks as they were originally made? “Came here for brunch with my girlfriends. We waited about 5 minutes for our table of 3. It was busy, which is to be expected since it was 1PM on a Saturday. Our server Juliana was an ABSOLUTE angel! She was such a sweetheart & took great care of us, always making sure we had refills and everything we needed.The food came out within about 10 minutes. Between us we got the lemon berry crepe, strawberry French toast, & chicken fried steak. The French toast had to have been the largest two slices of toast I’ve ever seen! The chicken fried steak was the size of a small dinner plate! Super yummy and filling.Trinity wasn’t our server, but she had a table that complained about literally everything for no reason at all. She was super sweet so we had to take care of her as well!We will definitely be back to see either of these queens! Ask for them next time you stop by. :)“

She checked on us every few minutes making sure we had everything we needed. The food was delicious. I got a CYO burger and my boyfriend got the Philly. “Had dinner here and it was honestly really good. My steak was cooked to perfection ?. When we arrived there was a line of 9 people waiting. Several staff members stared at the customer's but made no move to acknowledge their presence. There was no hostess and later we were informed there normally isn't one during the week. I watched several people waiting for service leave because no one approached them to be seated and this happened the whole time I was here. There was no soap and barely any toilet paper in the bathroom. My poor waiter was bussing tables, running food, bartending and taking orders. I felt bad having to even ask for more water because the man was doing everything... I mean everything! When he took our order he had the biggest smile and asked what we would like I and told him I want him to take a deep breath he was able to check on us as much as he could given he was doing 10,000 things at once. I'm glad we got the salad bar and we made a couple of trips until our food came out. The salad bar was clean and had a large variety of things on it. I Wish ham wasn't the only meat option. We loved the broccoli ? salad and pumpernickel croutons. The mashed potatoes that came with my NY strip steak were really good. My husband got the trio and it came with ribs and we got the bourbon sauce on it. It also came with shrimp and chicken tenders however those were just run of the mill deep fried items. The ribs were amazing. They were very tender and fall off the bone. The fried shrimp did not look like it had been deveined and the breading on the chicken tenders was rock hard you could barely chew it. He ended up peeling the batter off. Terrible wait but food was good. My waiter was having a Murphy's law all day and we gave him a fat tip. I wished I could have remembered his name but I suck with names. Anyways he's the one getting married!!! We decided we're going to come back just because of him and hopefully will have an even better experience next time.“

Additionally, its not the servers fault for food that is incorrectly cooked, they are not making the food, they are the messengers. When it arrived, the spoons were kind of greasy because of the bananas, so my fingers were all sticky at the end.I did think that there would be different flavors, but it consisted of just vanilla. The cutlery that they provided was unfortunate. If it had been other than plastic, the presentation would have taken a big step ahead.
