“Amazing food. The Ruben is almost unmatched. Great home town atmosphere and family run shop. Can be a bit busy at times but absolutely worth the wait. Seating available inside as well as out back for some fresh air. No better sandwich shop around.“
“We have been living in this area for quite a few years and we stumbled across this place! OMG we have been missing out!Staff was amazing, menu was creative and portions were huge!!! Loved the mussels! Took the remaking sauce home to pour it over EVERYTHING!!!We will be back!“
“We had another delicious breakfast this morning...great food, endless coffee and wonderful, friendly service. Very reasonable prices too. Veggie omelette was huge, Cattleman's country ham spot on and not too salty, eggs and biscuits perfect as always! Also enjoy stepping back in time with the classic diner ambiance. Isn't it time for you to make a run for The Border!!!“
“Okay this place may be my favorite hole in the wall I didn't know i needed in my life. I've been here for two visits and they haven't let me down and will have me coming back to try everything on their menu.My first visit I had the pork chop sandwich and I was expecting what others have served me at different establishments and I was sadly mistaken. This was a thick bone in center cut pork chop cooked to perfection and the size was immaculate for a lunch portion. The chili cheese fries have some of the best chili I've ever had on French fries and they were heavy handed on the cheese which was a plus. The second visit I had the flounder sandwich and fries and I loved the portion size of the flounder and the breadcumb crust. This place is small but the food is mighty, please pay them a visit.“
“Went for lunch on April 27th 2024.Our hostess was easily the nicest person I’ve ever met while going to a restaurant. They have some of the nicest people greet you, serve you some of the best tasting food and isn’t crazy expensive either. Highly recommended.“
“We've been to wake forest several times over the years, but only recently did we go to this place. Cafeteria style selling Ala Carte. The place was clean and bright. Lots of locals there with us. The food was pretty good, but anytime you cook for masses, the seasoning or lack of it won't suit everybody's taste. Not that it wasn't seasoned because it was. it just wasn't my favorite. I would recommend forks to anyone just looking for a sitdown blue plate lunch or dinner without a lot of frills.“
“This tiny little place packs of powerful punch! It doesn’t look like much on the outside, but once you get inside And get a sense of how busy they are, and you start smelling all the different foods they’ve prepared behind the counter… You know, it’s going to be good! Your mouth instantly starts salivating!Everyone in there is so kind and friendly that you just can’t help yourself- you’ll want to slow down and take your time so that you can enjoy the food and the fellowship! You should definitely stop in some time!“
“Hometown Cafe is an absolute gem in the world of Southern home food! From the moment I stepped foot in this cozy establishment, I was greeted by the most wonderful waitress (Morgan) who made me feel right at home. The menu offers a delicious selection of southern home food that is simply mouthwatering. Every dish I tried was bursting with flavor and prepared with love. And the best part? The atmosphere is so peaceful and quiet, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a meal and unwind after a long day. Hometown Cafe truly offers an abundance of tasty delights, excellent service, and a serene dining experience. Highly recommended!“
