“Must try! Delicious food! We had the chopped cheese sub, kids hot dog and fries, Martinsville hot dog, and PK's checkered flag fries! Slaw was unique and really good! Awesome display of NASCAR memorabilia too. Our daughter had a really awesome experience. She got the classic car add on to the kids meal, which she really enjoyed. The owner also let her pick a bracelet and gave her a bag of popcorn to go! We will be back on our next trip to the beach ?”

I am writing this review after visiting the paper canoe for the 3rd time. I have ordered different menu items, while my partner has only ordered the scallops as “they have the best scallops I’ve ever had in my life”. She has gone so far as to stop ordering scallops elsewhere as The Paper Canoe has ruined all other scallops for her, as they are just so good.The paper canoe is one of the, if not the best restaurant we have dined at. The atmosphere is top tier, and if you book your reservations the right time, you’ll be able to watch the sun set while you dine.The beauty of nature, mixed with the pure culinary skill of the chef, and the professionalism of the staff make this so much more than a restaurant, it’s an experience.I can not recommend The Paper Canoe enough. 15/10And attached are photos of the scallop entree, the cast iron shrimp and grits, and the sweet and sour lemonade w/ edible straw”

“BEST PORK CHOP EVER. So what if I order a pork chop at ever restaurant that boasts one. I expect pork perfection - and The Blue Point achieved it. Pork excellence! This chop was beyond good. It had this crust with a bacon essence that just made me laugh it was so good. And the bread pudding had the perfect savoriness. Oh my word! It’s a must try! My hubs got the crab cakes - also VERY GOOD. But the night belonged to Porky-God rest his soul. He was VERY good.”

“I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the SaltBox Cafe. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the staff was very polite and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious, and the portion was perfect for me. My coffee was kept topped off and warm. The other patrons that were regulars had a little banter going on with the staff that just added to the charm of this little Cafe. I would definitely recommend it and will return!”

“This is a local gem! I have only tried their coffee, no food. I've tried the red dawn with multiple different brews (high tide is my fave), white chocolate raspberry iced coffee, cappuccino, and south swell iced coffee. All of which were phenomenal! Service is great and fast. The shop is adorable with local art for sale. I live a bit far but have made an excuse to be on this side of the beach almost once a week for a special treat! Highly recommend!!”

“Overall, I had a mixed experience. While the porkchop had good flavor, it was unfortunately overcooked and a bit dry. However, the smashed potatoes were excellent, offering a savory complement to the main dish as well as the fried mac and cheese. The service was exceptional; the waitress was friendly and accommodating, even going the extra mile to include a generous piece of cake to make up for the dry porkchop.The atmosphere of the restaurant was delightful, especially as I dined upstairs, which provided a refreshing change of pace and offered a unique view of a small backyard through the window. Despite the culinary misstep with the porkchop, the overall experience was pleasant, thanks to the attentive service and enjoyable ambiance. Highly recommend all their deserts.”

“Found this place a few years ago stuck in traffic on the way out so figured why not grab some coffee and breakfast. Great little spot. Our most recent visit for the weekend we got coffee and breakfast each day. The staff is still as friendly as I remembered years ago. We opted to get our dog a pup cup this time. She loved it. Haven't had anything I didn't like yet. We'll be back not sure when but we will be.”

“We ordered inside and sat outside in the back because we had our dog with us and Arts Place has a wonderful backyard for furbabies! When our food was ready they called us to come up front to pickup, the inside dining room was full. The burgers were delicious as always. We stop here a few times a year!”

“The food here was lights out some of the best seafood I've had. The crab bisque was spicy and rich, softshell crab tacos and nachos were loaded up. They give you loads of perfectly cooked, delicious seafood. The wait staff was attentive and charming - we all really enjoyed everything about this place.”

“Delicious! I think that is the best word to describe the experience. It was packed when I went with my family, and from the moment we entered, the smell of fresh, freshly made food enveloped us. I mention this because I am very susceptible to smells, and my tasting experience begins with aromas. I also have to highlight the service, which is excellent. When you enter they ask you for a table for how many people and help you choose the place. We were served pretty quickly, everything was hot and freshly made. Be sure to order the fries, they have a technique to sauté them with garlic and cilantro and they still remain crispy, they are phenomenal!The nacho starter was enough for me as a main course. My husband ordered the burger in a tortilla. I tried it and it was equally delicious. “BACON PEPERJACK BURGER, FRIES AND GRAVY... $9.46 TOTAL.Fries were frozen but were cooked and seasoned to perfection. They appear to use a dusted/crushed salt as opposed to more course traditional fine table salt. The dusted approach has the entire fry surface covered but never at the expense of being over salted. They got the science right on the fries few places figure this out and for the record frozen fries almost always have a snappier bite than fresh i have no issues with frozen fries. Kudos!Burger was well cooked and flavorful... no fancy bun or anything so this isn't gourmet burger its just a proper burger cooked properly, which I think makes this place 5 stars as the price after tax was very good considering the economy and touristy location.Good parking, order sent to your table, servers check up on you. Good seating design no log jam areas and plenty of intimate 2 person tables.I mean... I could disect it further but what's the point I already highly recommend this establishment.”

“Food was very good. Our server was very distracted by other guest and put off serving us our desert. So we asked someone else to give us our desert that our server had placed on a worktable (several minutes prior) next to our dining table. Our Tiramisu had set out so long, it was room temp and starting to collapse.”

“Hands down our favorite shop in OBX and absolute favorite place to get Açaí. Our family has a tradition of getting açaí wherever we go, no matter where we travel we look for the best açaí place. We cannot even begin to explain how much we love the açaí here. We went every day 3 days in a row and have yet to find a better açaí place. Shop is so super cute like a posh boutique and the owners are so friendly and you feel like you're going into a shop where like Cheers "everybody knows your name". And we can't forget the soft serve and waffle cone. Something for everyone. We will find vacation homes in Obx based on the proximity of it to this shop! Not to mention their packaging which screamed quality and attention to detail. Everyone was so nice especially considering we were a group of 13 and with all our order and specs for each they were so accommodating. We could go on and on but really it's meant to be experienced for oneself!”

“This place is out of this world! First‐ our server, Luke, was top notch. He was kind, helpful, and friendly. We ordered the the Chef special which is a sampling of a majority of their their menu. 7ish items. I am from the mountains and not a big seafood fan but we scarfed everything in front of us. All the food was seasoned to perfection. Lastly, the beignets as dessert were delicious! As a vacationer, I would come back to OBX just for this restaurant.”

“My son and I stopped by to get pizza before heading home from the outer banks, and I will say that we were glad we did. The garlic cheese bread and pizza were absolutely delicious! Our waitress was very nice, and our pizza came out in about 15-20 minutes. I have put this place on my list to visit again if I'm in the area, no doubt!”

“The bang bang shrimp were cooked & seasoned perfectly. We also had the crab cake sandwich & the pork bbq sandwich. They have a bbq sauce or the most popular vinegar based sauce. It was so good because bought a thing of their award winning vinegar sauce. The staff were so polite & the food came out fast & hot... this is our new favorite secret to eat..... they do breakfast, lunch, & dinner. It's very casual w/ a full bar . The bar seats around 12-15 people..”

“Very cool ice cream shop! Clean and well lit.sadly it was not very busy but I sure hope they survive since they are not in a very central location. My son really enjoyed his ice cream here and she served a nice scoop for him. The girl behind the register was very, very friendly... yeah highly recommend.”
