My compliments to the chef!Also got a side of pintos and coleslaw with cornbread. Plenty of side orders to choose from, and they serve Cheerwine to drink.Amazing food at very affordable prices! I drove 15 miles from Newton to eat here again! One of the last down-home Diners left in town. Ask for Brandi . . . she'll take good care of you. Check out Frye Daddy's!”

“Restaurant was clean, service fast and food was hot and tasted ok. Everything was going well until I was asked to pay at table. Waiter asked if card or cash and I said debit. He then runs card through handheld. I noticed 4% credit card surcharge and explained I did not use a credit card and it is illegal to charge for debit, as it's considered same as cash. He stared his English wasn't good and couldn't understand. I called the NC Consumer Financial Compliannce department to alert them. Restaurants need to understand they can lose the ability to accept cards if they continue this process.”

“A delivery service didn't deliver my order I never received it. Even though they didn't have to they remade my food. I've always had good service from chuɓbys. It wasnt the restaurants fault and I really appreciated everything they did to make it right when the delivery service didn't. The food here is amazing and I especially loves their salads ❤️Kid-friendliness: They offered my son a cookie!”

“Surprisingly this place was not your typical fast food restaurant. My sister had me try Bo Rounds for the first time. The server was really nice and gave us the Cajun seasoning on the side. They came out quickly and were warm, slightly crispy on the outside, and not greasy at all, though also didn't seem too dry. The restaurant was bright and clean as well. As a vegan I probably won't purposefully visit again but it's good to know there's at least one thing on the menu I could get in a pinch!”

“Plant-Based Boss was out of this world! I almost don’t want to write a review because I don’t want this fantastic secret to get out.I discovered Plant-Based Boss by searching for vegan restaurants in Hickory, NC, fully expecting to see the typical places with one or two vegetarian options. But then! But then Plant-Based Boss popped up, and I wasn’t sure it indeed was what it looked like. The menu mentioned things like spare ribs and chorizo. What?!So, my husband and a couple of friends planned a couple’s date night and drove an hour and a half to try the food. Surprisingly and to our delight, we got so much more than hoped for. The ambiance was fresh and inviting. A charming and friendly lady greeted us and took our orders. She explained the menu, that almost everything was made in-house, including their veggie “meats,” vegan cheeses, and sauces. The offerings included tacos, burritos, boats, and more. And yet, this food was like no tacos, burritos, or boats I’ve ever experienced.When our food arrived, it blew our minds. We were enthralled with our choices. We oohed and aahed at each other’s meal. The flavors were fantastic! I ordered one of the bowls. I won’t try to describe everything, but I have shared a few pics for your enjoyment.Although I hope the popularity of this beautiful new find doesn’t grow so big and fast as not to have room for us when we visit again, I hope everyone will try it because we need them and more places like them.My new favorite place to eat is Plant-Based Boss!Vegetarian options: Everything is not only vegetarian, it’s vegan.Dietary restrictions: Vega, vegetarian”

I spent no more than $10 in there (two or three of us ate I think- they NEED some real customers) and I remember specifically wishing the place was on 127 or right off of it. I think the place has room to grow, fertilizer from the town to sprinkle on it, and a product- lunch- more specifically that should stand the test of time and is so basically commanded locally. “I'm with a lot of the other reviews. Over priced much....... got the Gumbo. If you're going to serve someone Half of the container maybe put it in a smaller container so the customer doesn't feel jipped. The Gumbo was very flavorful with the right amount of spice. But 1 small scoop of rice..... rice is very inexpensive and they put it in a huge container to make it seem even smaller. $17 for a lunch. Nope”

“This cafe is AWESOME! I saw the sign across the street after getting my teeth cleaned, lol, and I decided to stop. The ladies were sooo friendly and gave the best recommendations. My iced latte was a special, off-the-menu creation, and it was so good! Way better than Starbucks! And the home-made pastries were amazingly delicious and pretty. I wanted to try all of them! I highly recommend the 3 Little Chicks, and I will definitely visit the next time I'm in the area - such a cute cafe, nice ambiance, a large variety of treats, and they have mini golf! Would be a great hang-out; I just wish I lived nearby!”

I was 3 cars back and had to wait for about 15 minutes before the line moved.I got a footlong hotdog, monster burger, and onion rings. Total was $13. Would be a good place to bring some kids and get ice cream. Monster burger wasn’t huge. Maybe about the same size as a quarter pounder.You might get your food faster if you sit at the tables.”

“I’m obsessed. Best Peruvian restaurant I’ve been to in NC. Well priced for the quality and authenticity of the food. I’m Peruvian, so my standards are high - and I am so glad I found this gem on my road trip. I had the ceviche carretillero which was perfection. If you can handle a little spice - you’re gonna be licking your plate at the end. The maracuya sour was divine and the pisco wasn’t overpowering which is just how I like it. I live 2.5 hours from here and I’ll be back. The staff was so pleasant and helpful. 10/10. Hickory, y’all are lucky to have access to a restaurant like this. If you’re new to Peruvian food, trust me… you can’t go wrong. I’ll be back.”

“Amazing little hole in the wall diner. Great food and selection of items. I always get the livermush, egg, and cheese with the livermush cooked crispy. And it's ALWAYS cooked to perfection. The employees are super friendly and helpful. They have limited hours and are only open for breakfast and lunch, so keep that in mind when you're wanting to order from here. The parking lot is small so just keep that in mind when coming here to eat. They don't have indoor dining, but they have a table or 2 outside to sit at and eat. This is a must try restaurant when you're in Hickory. Make sure to get napkins when you pick up your order because sometimes the sandwiches can get a little messy, but those are the best kinds to eat. Prices are outrageous like other places. I give this place a 10/10!!”
