“This is a hidden Gem. We had the oyster sandwich and flounder sandwich. Both were loaded and delicious. The owner came by to see how we liked our food and told me he has plans for a raw bar and sushi next summer. He also said he planned to open the outside and have bands. If you are looking at this give them a try. A+“

“How did we ever survive in on Topsail Island without Maine Lobstah Shack!!! Having spent years in the New England region, I know good from great when it comes to Lobster! The lobster rolls are to die for and the lobster bisk is the best I've ever had. On top of that, it is a wonderful family owned and family run business. At the end of the day, it is the quality of the food that keeps us coming back! Treat yourself!!! Definately a five star experience!!“

“we just left the crab pot. we had morgan as our waitress. she was very hospitable and friendly and helpful describing the menu. excellent teamwork from the staff. i noticed everyone working so hard. the service was quick and the softshell crab sandwich hit the spot. i highly recommend and we will be returning on our next trip to surf city!!! we left with full bellies and happy hearts. 10/10 would recommend!“

“Although we don’t permanently reside in Surf City, we have owned a family home here for 30 years (been coming here 50 years) and are here most weekends throughout the year. We FINALLY dined at JM’s this evening and were pleasantly surprised. We were given a 45 min wait time- more than fair for summer- (although it didn’t take that long) but enjoyed delicious cocktails on the back deck with the beautiful views. Our group ordered crab cakes, the JM hoagie, grilled chicken and fried shrimp and oysters. Everything was DELICOUS! Our server was very pleasant and attentive. We will definitely be back! This just may be one of our new favorite spots!“

“Great local breakfast spot! Stopped by while on a trip. The food was great! We ordered the Denver omelet, the breakfast bowl with grits and the Wood Pile (steak, eggs, home fries and cheese). Portions were generous. The steak was larger than expected and cooked just as ordered. The coffee was great. Danielle was our server and she was cheerful and answered our questions about the menu. The restaurant is clean and the atmosphere is comfortable. Would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for something more than a typical breakfast chain.“

“My husband and I have been here multiple times over the last 5 years and tonight was so disappointing. The steak was the dryest piece of meat you could have imagined and the remaining entrees our table ordered were extremely underwhelming for the price. The "rack" of elk was two extremely small pieces for an astronomical price. A $400 meal that was overwhelmingly disappointing and was not a culinary experience as we've had in the past. Save your money and go elsewhere.“

“Me and the wife originally went to Surf City to try another spot, but it was closed and we decided to give this place a try. It was close to where we were at and they had smash burgers lol. The atmosphere was nice and laid back. Multiple tvs. Not a football fan though so didn't watch to much. I prefer hockey or mma. Anyways the staff was friendly and took care of us. The smash burgers were AMAZING!!!! I got the one with bacon and mac and cheese and my wife got the bacon, peanut butter and jelly one. The frys were good and the corn casserole was good. We will definitely be back. My one and only complaint is the portion sizes. The burgers were kinda of small for the price and the sides ...although good....we're also small. I got home and ate more after lol. We will be back though bc the burgers were that good. I'd recommend this place for sure if you like good burgers, drinks and TV.“
