“I really wanted to love this spot. And maybe it was because I visited on a Tuesday evening which in most restaurants is a little on the slow side.

So the positives: the waitress was spot on. Attentive, friendly, and folks genuinely loved her interaction and service. The greeting at the front was phenomenal. It was raining and they even had small towels to dry your things. The atmosphere is also really comfortable and feels like a small-town steakhouse should. Inviting and relaxing. The salad bar was on point, even for someone who doesn't eat much rabbit food, and the baked potato was super smooth.

The improvement: The steak was a good portion but seasoning seemed off. Heavy on one side (left/right) and missing on the other. Ordered medium to medium rare. Likely was closer to medium well with some well done. A few others nearby seemed to echoed the same sentiment with the steak so a little coaching to the chef with a thermometer might be helpful or maybe it was just an off night.”

“First time dining here for dinner. Very cozy atmosphere located beneath an old hardware store now an antique store. We had the Dewberry salad with grilled chicken added, Philly cheese steak and blackberry cobbler. Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive. The salad was delicious , incredibly fresh with a wonderful dewberry vinegarette salad dressing. The chicken cheese steak was very good. The cobbler was also very good. Will be back ! Highly recommend.”

“I’m glad the food is really good because I was dead set on leaving a good review based on the service alone. Took time to walk me through the menu and make thoughtful recommendations. I don’t have any gripes about anything I had but the brisket is worth a special mention. If I’m ever here again I’ll forget about the sauce. It’s good but the meat doesn’t need any help. Good value too. I’m used to paying $15-20 more for significantly less food. Kinda wishing I had not grabbed takeout. I’ll bet the fried apple pie and ice cream is super.”

“Absolutely amazing!! I’m a Sanford native and I’ve been coming to eat here for 20+ years!! The menu has been updated with new items over the past several years, with a variety of choices!! Good fresh southern food! The wraps and salads are delicious!! Compliments to the cooks and servers! This place is well ran! Also this restaurant is always so clean!”

“This restaurant serves the meal cafeteria style. Pick your options and it's put on the plate by the servers from the hot pans. My first time here, I had a two meat meal with fried chicken wings and a BBQ thigh (pictures attached). Both ways the meat was tender and hot. The wings had the home cooked fried flavor you would expect and the BBQ was nicely favored with the sauce, I didn't taste a smokey grilled flavor though, but the sauce worked well with it. They also had sliced ham, fried shrimp and fish and pulled pork. (I'll try two other meats next trip) The side of fried okra and broccoli with cheese sauce had good flavor and were also served hot. They have many other side choices to try on another visit. The prices are down to earth and there are good portions on the plate or box, if you get a to-go tray. A worthwhile home cooking food option in my opinion. I'll be back with friends.”
