“The food is about the average of any paid admission museum/park. The staff is what made it worth it. They were so nice and patient with every customer we saw. The fudge is amazing! Nestled in the Wilson center, Mildred's grill had so many things to see and do. We loved visiting.“
“Some of the best people to deal with. Truly professional, accommodating, kind, thoughtful and fair. The entire crew, managers, grounds keeping and office family go over and beyond making sure satisfaction is achieved. When things take a misstep, it becomes a challenge to make things right, and ESSEOLA succeeds. There no snobs in the chain of command. Everyone who saves up for an experience are treated with the best attitude. When you make the time to have an experience, they refuse to let you down. ESSEOLA appreciates the reputation they want to convey. Failure is not an option. Even the food service rating only makes three digits. 100%. Looking after details is the goal of ESSEOLA.“
“This was the best meal/experience I have had in quite some time, possibly ever. We were lucky enough to dine in the cellar and have Sadie as our server. I want to express my gratitude to the chef, staff, and Manager, Jeff who made this a night to remember. Highly recommend the ribeye caps, lamb, and all of the first courses. Bring a big group and share everything! Make sure you request Sadie as your server, her recommendations were spot on.“
“This is an outstanding restaurant. The food is terrific. All made on premise... The chicken fried chicken was the best I've ever had. Big serving for a big guy like me. Not greasy but very tender and moist. The crispy crust was perfect.Wifey enjoyed trout. Said it was tasty. We ordered sourdough bread for an appetizer and it was also great! We ordered a couple adult beveragesAll of this was really affordable. Unusual for a vacation spot but I'm guessing a lot of locals go here soon they're not charging super high pricesThe staff were all so considerate and attentive.I give this place two giant thumbs up.Highlight of my stay in the area outside of the sheer beauty. It even snowed on us in late February.“
“Me and my friend visited this restaurant for dinner today after visiting the Linville falls area today and we were amazingly impressed by the staff and food we got. The hostess was so sweet coming into and leaving the restaurant. They truly made us feel like we were at home and like family even though it was our first time visiting. Our waitress was phenomenal. She was warm, kind, and personable. She personally thanked us for choosing their restaurant over others in the area, and by how great the food was we were very glad to. We started out with the peel and eat shrimp and poutine. Both of which were greatly portioned and delicious. My friend got the grilled trout with potato cakes and collard greens which he claimed were all amazing. I don’t even like fish and the trout was delicious and the potato cakes were amazing. I got the Tin Trout burger with homemade chips and my burger was delicious and fresh and my chips were better than any restaurant I’ve had, all of them were crispy and fried to perfection no soft ends or anything. Then thanks to our waitresses recommendations for dessert we got the Gooey butter cake with ice cream and the Lemon berry mascarpone which were both delicious and amazing. I usually can never finish all my food at a restaurant much less as much food as we ordered, but with the quality of food we had I couldn’t let one bite go to waste, or in a Togo box. I visited the restroom while there which was incredibly clean, smelled great, and pretty posh to say the least. I wish we would’ve taken pictures but our phones were low and tummy’s couldn’t wait. We are from over 3 hours away near Chapel Hill, and we will be making the drive back up there soon just for the food. Thank you all. Highly recommended.“
“The steak was without doubt one of the best I have ever had. Of course me being me, I forgot to take photos. The steak was near perfect cooked with a sear producing a good crust and an amazing tenderness with much flavor. The pan seared tuna had great flavor but the sauce with it left a bitter taste within my mouth, overall it was good.Charcuterie board had a wide selection. Some of the cheeses were extremely stiff though. All else was good. The drinks and cocktails were all prepared very well. Wine selection was good.Prices vary by menu items greatly, I’d say range per person with apps and meal and drink is ~90-125 for dinner.“
“We were just looking for some breakfast out in the middle of nowhere and ended up here. Thank goodness we did, This place was AMAZING. Made to order food right in front of you in astonishing time. I am a cook so I was amazed at what I was seeing here. Food was incredible, staff as well. This place will be a must have for me every time I go up to the mountains.“
“The location was convenient for us and the food was okay but not particularly memorable. Somehow I missed the grand view. Maybe they had the misfortune of having a neighbor put up a building in the middle of the view which had given the restaurant its name. Also, I've never gotten toast at a restaurant and only gotten one slice of bread. It's the cheapest and simplest thing to get as a breakfast item add on or part of an entree and I've always gotten two slices.“
“Besides the fact that they have the best burgers both beef and veggie, they have a lunch special every day. Absolutely delicious. And don't worry about it being in a pool hall. The owner, Chris, is always there. No smoking, no drinking, no cussing and be careful with the first class equipment. Plus you can eat with your dog on the nice porch.“
“The food was great and the prices near unbeatable. We got a cheeseburger and bbq plate with sides for about $20. The sweet potato fries and hush puppies were especially delicious - crisp, fresh, and not overly sweet. Service was prompt and friendly. Would def visit again!“
“My husband and I have ordered takeout from Carolina Pizza multiple times now and it is amazing every time. I'm not one for reviews but this place absolutely deserves it! We will definitely be dining in next time to enjoy a couple of the beers they offer. Great job ♥️Added some pics of the menu for those of you who haven't seen it.“
“We visit beech mountain every year. We love the grocery store - it has everything we need during our stay and absolutely love their deli. The food is awesome, the service is great, prices are reasonable. Can't wait to go back next year.“
“Food was superb. Drinks were great. Bananas Fosters Flambe and Cherries Jubilee Flambe as well as the Brownie ice cream Fambe for dessert were unbelievable. Basically, they KNOCK IT OUT OF THE BALLPARK ON ALL ASPECTS. THE RAINSParking: Plenty of parking“
“Delicious barbecue with a great selection of sauces. The sauces are all custom made and were created to go with the different types of smoked meats they offer. From the porch or around the building is a great view of Grandfather Mountain and Beech Mountain. The staff was very friendly, food was fast, and the atmosphere was cozy. Lots of other options (such as sandwiches and burgers) to try at another time!“
“Our server was absolutely on top of everything. Great atmosphere! The food was amazing.3/29/24 We were seated and waited a few for our waitress to come greet usShe took our order and brought our drinks, and food came out about 10- 15 mins later. I had the BBQ plate with onion rings and black-eyed peas. He had the cheese burger melt and fries. Mine was good. The bbq was a little wetter than I liked it but had good flavor. The black-eyed peas were also really good, firm, and not mushy at all. The onion rings were crispy and fresh. The burger melt looked really good and liked it. He had a beer and I a margarita, which was fresh and not overly sweet.“

“I’d have taken a photo of the whole pizza, but I was too hungry after skiing. Such a diamond in the rough woods! Elk River is cozy, friendly, and food is fresh and hot.Dietary restrictions: They have cauliflower crust pizza for those with gluten-free needs.“
“Salad bar is awesome, don't miss the baked potatoes! Understand that everywhere is short staffed these days, so expect kind, helpful, slow-service. We were there 2 hours total, we probably waited 20-30 mins to be seated then about an hour for food to come out for a party of 8. They're doing their best with what they have. We'd go back when in town again.“
