“I had it delivered. I certainly didn’t expect so much food. Brisket was absolutely fantastic. Done perfectly. Smoked sausage kicked butt. Mac and cheese along with coleslaw was great. “Am I pushing it to give a place five stars? Yes. I should really go 4.5. What I can say is that this is not only the best BBQ is Gaston County, it ranks near the top in the State of North Carolina. I eat BBQ across the country, and this is worthy of mention anywhere.Meats are nicely smoked, and moist, the sides are great. So far I've only had brisket and pork, both were outstanding. I go for Greens and baked beans always, and they are good here; but would like to try other items. You can get banana pudding as a side.Banana Pudding... Theirs is good maybe 3.5-4.I'm very picky about banana pudding. I always get some if available - a BBQ restaurant is judged by this - , and I make banana pudding also. They could up their banana pudding to move their overall rating to a solid 5-Star. I liked it slightly thicker, creamer... I like Nilla WaffersI'll post pictures later. I'm sure it has looked the same forever but now it is retro and pretty cool. The service is good but a little slow. The menu is varied so no matter what you want they probably have it. “For a fast food chain, we would all expect not good service or a dirty establishment. NOT this Smithfield’s. Their service was immaculate!! They are always greeting you once you walk through the door, serving you with a smile, getting to know you on a personal level, always filling up your drinks, and any other assistance. They are AMAZING! And we are talking about mostly teenagers. The place was spotless. Give them a raise!“

“I went in today to have breakfast after my appointment. I'm truly glad we went in because the service was amazing, especially with Tater (Scott) and the other people there, like the owner, Rhonda. I got the breakfast plate with scrambled eggs with onions, bacon , grits, and toast, as well as coffee on the side. The coffee was fresh and not too watered down like many places I've been to. I will note that the buttery grits were so creamy and just perfectly made. I've had really hard, disgusting grits before. My son had the club sandwich and he really enjoyed it. He had no complaints at all and even saved the other half for later because it was a lot, lol. I started asking questions about the place and how long it has been there. Rhonda is the daughter of the original owner, and he was well known in the area, she stated. They have a nice photo to commemorate him with him having a big smile on his face . I loved the quaint, small mom-and-pop vibe of the place. Honestly, I appreciate places like these so much more because you can tell they are doing the cooking with love. As we sat and enjoyed our meal, we heard and saw what seemed to be regulars. You can tell you are treated like family here. I loved hearing the joking between customers and employees because it felt lighthearted. I also enjoyed how the tables have so many pictures of customers, etc. I also ended up ordering a cheesesteak for my daughter to go with some fries . Let me tell you, I made sure to ask for a bite of it from her, lol. Well, I'm glad I did. Now I know I can enjoy a cheesesteak from here. I shall note... While no, it is not the normal Philly we know, literally from Philadelphia, it is quite good with the hoagie roll they use, and the meat is tender and not overly chopped. We also had a piece of cake that they were giving out today, and it was red velvet. I'm not a big fan of that flavor, but it really was pretty darn good. All in all, it is a simple yet great establishment to get a great cup of coffee and a nice meal that isn't going to break the bank. I am truly grateful to Tater for his amazing customer service skills and sweet nature. To all the employees and the owner, thank you for having a place that many call home.“

“Black's is the best in BBQ sandwiches and for the amount of food they give you. You just can't beat it there all American and a great team of service everyone I have ever dealt with gives plenty and they are very polite. My mother and father went there when they were teenagers. “A little expensive but worth it is what I used to say but the latest experience was "OKish" at best. Fries was bland and a little burnt, minced BBQ sandwich was extremely soggy and thrown together without any thought of appearance with meat and slaw all over the top side of the bun. The cherry lemon sundrop tasted like carbonated lemon soda water with no cherries in it at all. The curb side service was depressing and lazy. Expects a tip but forgot the straws and ketchup and rolls her eyes when asked for that and 8 of the 14 dollars in change due back. What happened to this place?“

“Longhorn's has a Springtime special on Lamb chops right now. I asked for medium well & mine were cooked to perfection.I also like that my server brought my salad & bread with my drink ... but didn't bring my Lamb until I had finished my salad. I hate it when restaurants rush your food out... so this won big points with me.There are lots of other good options on the menu which I liked... such as a Rib & Parmesan Crusted Chicken platter & there's lots of choices for sides. I'll be back to try something else next time... but those Lamb chops were tasty... yessss.“
