“Had dinner with a group of friends. We all enjoyed our meals. Tuna nachos, pork belly and wings were very tasty to start the meal. The main dishes we had included the brick chicken, shrimp and grits and smash burger. We cleaned our plates…great flavors and taste! We would DEFINITELY go back!“

“Ate dinner on porch on a wonderful October night, when the hotel is decked out for Halloween. Wife enjoyed my roasted duck and her Gin Rickey, while I enjoyed her braised short ribs of beef with mashed potatoes and creme brûlée with raspberries. Server was a delight.“

“I'm going to get right to the point. I went to Tully's Cafe today after a business meeting with two of my friends, I was the first to arrive! I walked in and grabbed a table and then all of a sudden out of nowhere comes this big huge smile walking towards us, instantly felt comfortable and welcomed! My friends finally arrived and the server, who was by herself at the time (it was around 2:00 in the afternoon) greeted us, went over the specials, and got our drinks! In the meantime a couple more tables came in, she seemed to know them all! Now let me tell you about this server, she did not even ask guest what they wanted to drink (she just knew), most of the guest, she knew what they were going to eat as well, I myself heard her ask a couple tables are you going to have your regular today? This server was by herself and I counted nine tables that she had, she kept everyone's drink full, our food arrived to us in a timely fashion, and she kept that huge smile on her face. She did tell us her name, but I regret that I have since forgotten! She was small with a great big smile and a ballcap (The cap said bad hair day) We all had a good laugh over that! She really wow"d us. And did I mention, that this was all right at closing and she never rushed us, she kept our drinks full, even offered dessert! The food was all fresh, large portions, arrived quickly, everything we ate was amazing, high recommendations on the potato salad, I think it's the best I've had in a while! I've read so many bad reviews lately about service and restaurants and I wanted everyone to know that great servers still exist, she was the best we've ever had, come find her at Tolley's Cafe! This will now be our GO TO place, and please give that server a pat on the back, she's a keeper!“

“The Beer Geek tour was very informative and a great value. If you have 3 hours and want to get a behind the scene experience of the beer making process every step of the way from water and grains and ending with finished product in packaging, this is the tour for you. The tour guide Mary did a great job explaining the process and answering questions. Additionally, all the employees we encoutered along the way were very friendly and showed great pride in their company and the immaculate Mills River facility!“

Dietary restrictions: I can not eat bread or rice and they were more than happy to accommodate my request for no rice with my food. I have never had an issue with asking for no buns on burgers or no rice.
Kid-friendliness: Have had no issues with bringing children here, mine or others. I do however bring things for them to do like coloring books and table games that are small to help entertain the younger ones. But it is my responsibility to maintain control of the children I bring with me. Staff are really friendly and interactive with the kids every time they are at the table. They show kindness and understanding. Have never had an issue in 5 plus years.
Wheelchair accessibility: Handycap parking in front of doors. Easy roll through doors and if staff see you, most times they open the door to assist. I do not have a wheelchair at this time but do have a cane.“

“We were so fortunate to stop at the Cracker Barrel in Arden, North Carolina, on December 6, 2024. They had a warming fire going in the fireplace, very cozy contrasting nicely with the biting cold outside. My fiancée ordered the Chicken with Dumplings, Steamed Broccoli and Hashbrown Casserole. Since it was Fish Fry Friday, that's what I ordered along with Sweet Whole Baby Carrots and Hashbrown Casserole. Everything was done to perfection.
Our server was gracious, kind, thoughtful with a nice sense of humor. We hope to get back up to the Arden Cracker Barrel very soon.
Parking: This Cracker Barrel is nicely situated off of the main road in its own quaint location. All Cracker Barrel restaurants have an aura all of their own which sets them apart from other eateries.“

“We recently celebrated our 36th anniversary at Horse Shoe Farm. The facility and staff are tremendous. Hard to describe the beauty of the farm. The Silo restaurant is fantastic. chef Daniel and his team use the finest ingredients and deliver a one of a kind dining experience. “Great little spot with reasonably priced beer, food, and even candy. The atmosphere is cozy and laid-back, mostly drawing a mature crowd, so it's generally peaceful. The movie selection, though, does seem geared towards this same crowd—more classic dramas and lighter films, which isn’t a bad thing, but it would be nice to see some more variety. Adding action-packed options like *John Wick*, horror, or thriller flicks would make the lineup feel more balanced. Overall, a fantastic place to unwind, but a little more genre diversity would be awesome!“

“My wife and I moved to the area in April of this year. We live in Arden NC and have visited many restaurants in the area. This past Sunday we visit the Hickory Tavern to watch football. We were warmly greeted by Amanda who I suggest as one of the best servers we have ever had.
We shared a hamburger which was perfectly cooked along with french fries that were crunchy on the outside and smooth on the inside. Both were fantastic.
You guys have the best specials in town, especially for Sunday when all specials during the week are available on Sunday. She had cocktails and I had a bucket of beer, a great value.
The atmosphere was second to none considering! I am a sports fan and have visited many sports bars. The menu was diverse and the entire day was wonderful. My wife Charlotte Massey was so impressed that she has applied for a server position at the Hickory Tavern!

“Staff is always friendly. There is not a lot of indoor seating, but there are heaters outside should you have to sit out there. The food is always fresh, and bread is baked daily. I love the tahini goddess dressing for salads. It's amazing! Great place for lunch! I had an iced Chai tea for the 1st time today that was delicious as well.“

“My husband and I have been here several times for an event with a club. Today for the first time, we stopped by for lunch. We were not disappointed. The service was great. Our food was amazing. “Yes recommended, BUT… We are just a couple of locals who have enjoyed coming here periodically since they opened to support local food and beverage and to see the changes as they happen. We stopped in today and it was the worst experience we’ve had there. We were just stopping in for a drink at the bar and since there was a seat available for us, didn’t think it would be an imposition. Not only were we made to feel imposing at the door without a reservation (not required YET for the bar), but after being greeted by the bartender with “be with you in a moment”, no one ever again so much as looked at us for 20 more minutes. Watching the obviously flustered and untrained BT look at a recipe card to make Moscow mules for people who arrived after us, we decided it was best to just call it a night. I’m sure we’ll give them another try, at some point, but just be aware if you’re not staying at the hotel you may have issues. Disappointing, given the considerable investment the owner has and continues to make in this venture.“

“This place is great! Great bartender, great bar and I just had a Philly cheesesteak with jalapeños that was off the chain!!! Spicy and delicious. Been all over and lived in Colorado for 35 plus years with great Mexican fare - this the best quesadilla I have ever had…..says the 61 year old man…washed down with $3 bottles of yuengling.“

“They need to use just ice burg lettuce
And offer a wedge salad and i mean the kind where you take a head of lettuce and cut into quarters
Get rid of the flies and either clean the a 1 bottles or just throw them away when that older steak sauce gets on the outside of the top and the lid of the bottle just can't be clean
And servers need to pre bus better i seen this poor host make three trips with full trays was crazy“

“Great place to eat and have friends. Wait staff was interpersonal and attentive. I ate the shrimp stir fry with rice and it was plentiful and delicious. Only reason I rate the atmosphere at 4* was because there was no music or TV for background filler, but still great for interacting with others! Full send recommend!“
