“This is the place to go! The burgers are amazing and cooked perfectly. The music is great and not too loud. There's a smell of wood smoke that adds to the amazing atmosphere. The day we were here the TVs were set to fireplaces which was a great touch. I've had Alex and Jeff for servers, and they were absolutely amazing. Don't pass it by!Kid-friendliness: They are patient with kiddos“
“Even though I have lived out of state for more than 10 years, I am a native of Wilkes. 6th & Main has always been the classiest place in town for fine dining and atmosphere. So when my daughter’s boyfriend reached out for help with proposing to my daughter on Valentines Day, I immediately knew this would be the perfect location to pop the big question! It was semi last minute planning so I contacted the restaurant to see if they could squeeze them in for Valentine’s Day dinner and the proposal! Heather, the owner got back with me immediately and helped me plan out every detail. She offered to have them come in an hour before the restaurant opened so they could be alone in their very special moment! We also had flowers delivered to the restaurant beforehand and Heather once again, stepped up to make sure they were delivered on time and brought out to my daughter at just the right time.?Even though I couldn’t be there, Heather kept me in the loop in real time which meant the world to me! She sent me pictures and even helped my (very nervous) future son in law, pull off the big surprise! My daughter called afterwards to tell me she was of course engaged and how beautifully everything had gone! (Mission accomplished!) She also couldn’t believe how accommodating and kind Heather had been to them. Sadly, this kind of service and people are becoming harder to come by so I share with others when I find wonderful people and services. Their meal + service were excellent! 10 out of 10 across the board! Thank you Heather and the 6th & Main staff for helping us pull off a very special event for our daughter and son in law to be.“
“I am a longtime customer of Hadley’s. I have been eating there for over 40 years. After the restaurant was sold and closed for a period of time, I really missed the food there. When it reopened, I initially did not return but in the last few months, I have returned found the food is great, much as it always was. They have three waitresses who are awesome. These ladies work together and when food comes out either one of these ladies will get your food and bring it to you.“
“This was our first time. We have had a lot of recommendations to come here but just took the drive out. We had spent the day hiking so we worked up an appetite and wanted to try several different things. We got the fried mushrooms and loaded french fries as appetizers and they were both excellent. I had the Big Jack Fried Platter and it was very good, although I would've liked more oysters. My wife and oldest daughter had grilled chicken and said it was very good. Both of them had huge pieces of chicken. My youngest daughter had a grilled chicken salad and she loved it as well. They also enjoyed their sides of homemade chips and the ranch dressing was great. Our server was very kind and kept us happy. The atmosphere is decent, it definitely feels like a hometown kind of place. We loved the booths we sat at because they reminded us of 50's themed tables and seats. Our waitress even recommended a popular dish for when we come back, so we will definitely have to come back and try the steam pot. Oh yeah I almost forgot, they bring out hush puppies with butter and they were some of the best I've ever had.Parking: Not many parking places and the parking spots are right next to the road so you have to be careful backing out.“
“Wanted to try this place, I have never found a place that sells decent chicken wings locally. We tried the medium pizza with 6 mild wings and were happy. Next time I will try a hot wings , up the heat a bit. Overall, a nice little place, good waitresses, priced right.“
“We came in to see Easy Money perform. We had bacon cheese fries, loaded nachos, house salad, and Buffalo chicken pizza with sweet tea, liquid marijuana, hippie juice, and Dos Equis amber in a bottle. Service was quick and friendly. Table was dirty when we got there, but they happily wiped it down and apologized. Out of our two menus the prices was different in each one and different still on the ticket. The pizza showed 10.99 in the menu and was 13.46 on the ticket. So just know the prices may not be whatever they say. None of our items were the price the menu showed. They were out of several things, but we ended up pleased with what we got. Definitely an enjoyable Saturday night.“
“After hearing only utmost praise for The Spice is Right, I decided on ordering lunch from them today. I arrived shortly before peak hours and ordered the Chicken Fajita Wrap. I had to wait a little longer than I initially expected, but that completely passed my mind after I was given a FULL REFUND for what the chef called "overcooked chicken." I must disagree though, the dish was fantastic. I'll definitely be returning in order to pay them back.“
“My husband and I were diving by and just dropped in to have lunch. They served delicious food! My husband had a handmade double patty burger and I had the best meatloaf that I have eaten in years!! Great warm and friendly service!! We’re hoping to return for dessert tonight.“
“I love this place! There food is delicious, I tell friends it’s just like eating at Granny,s! (And my Granny was the best cook). Service is always excellent ?. Now, if you are looking for fancy it’s not ! It’s an old country diner with great food, just what we were looking for, we drive about an hour one way to eat there once or twice a week.“
“Lunch on Friday and very busy. The gentleman bussing tables pointed us to the last table available. Had the special to go - which was a scoop of homemade chicken salad (delish) served w/crackers, fruit cup (ok) and nice slice of very moist German chocolate cake. Also enjoyed in restaurant a footlong hotdog (very good chili & slaw) and cheeseburger along with fries and the best onion rings I have enjoyed in a long time. Fast and super friendly service. Definitely locals favorite. Reasonable prices. Looking forward to next visit.“
“This was the first time my family and I have ate here. I will definitely be back. The blacked ribeye was delicious, the popcorn shrimp was really good and the sweet potato and baked potatoes were good too. My son’s favorite part of the meal was the salad it was very fresh and the ranch tasted homemade.“
“Was in town and was looking for vegan options at a restaurant and came across Dooley's. I had their vegan chilli and a side of fries, and it was amazing. They have a "tree hugger" section on their menu for vegetarians and vegans. The customer service was A1!“
“Finally stopped by this mom and pop restaurant and I'm so glad I did! The wings? Absolutely delicious. And that salad? Super fresh. The wait staff were on their game – friendly, knowledgeable, and got everything spot on. Didn't even have to ask for much, except for to-go boxes because the portions were generous. Big shoutout for having spotless restrooms and thoughtful touches like courtesy pads for the ladies. I'd definitely come back for another round.“
“We found this little gem on our girls trip with mom. The waitstaff and food were excellent. I would recommend this great place to anyone. 5 stars all the way!Dietary restrictions: We asked for burgers without buns and it was no problem.Parking: Parking on both sides and front of building. Plenty of space.“
“While the food IS the best Chinese in Wilkes and I truly adore their kind staff, they really need to update their contact methods. More than one phone line is a great start. Many, many times I can just not get through to place an order, so I have to order elsewhere. They don't offer online ordering, which is just fine, but with the heavy customer traffic in store and via phone with the phone line always busy, it can be super frustrating. While it is my favorite Chinese restaurant, I rarely get eat here unless I walk in to order because I can't get through on their busy phone line.Much love though! I guess it's a good problem to have!Vegetarian options: Plenty of veggie meals.Dietary restrictions: Plenty of healthy options.“
“Good food & open lots of hours, like Sunday night when others are closed. This is in downtown Wilkesboro. We ate outside on a pretty day. There are lots of tables & sun shades. Inside is like a little bar, clean & tidy. The only complaint is from the ladies rest room. There are 3 stalls but only 1 had a lock on the door that worked. Easily remedied so please fix. Hubby & I had taco salad, sweet teas & small French dip. Portions are huge there! Total before tip was $31.87. Service was excellent. Thank you, Jess.“
“We needed a cup of coffee and clean restrooms on our way home from the mountains. We got both of those and a great breakfast. Our waitress never let us run out of coffee and made sure we had fresh cups for the road. She even brought out extra gravy when she saw how fast I ate mine. Super friendly folks and great food. Can't wait to eat here again.“
“Down home country kitchen cooking. Very friendly place to eat. Staff is always wonderful and friendly. Prompt service and food quality is very high. Definitely A+ quality. I have been there many times while working out of town in the Wilkesboro area. I make sure to stop and have another dinner at Cagney's KitchenParking: Parking extends completely around 3 sides of the buildingKid-friendliness: It is a family restaurant. No alcohol. No smoking inside. Staff is friendly to the whole familyWheelchair accessibility: There are 2 entrances at the front of the building. A wheelchair access ramp is within 8 feet of both doors coming from the parking lot area“
“Donna was amazing, and teresa was as well. They brought out an unlimited amount on mtn dew because we can’t survive with out it. Has that good feel. Air conditioning worked very well. I loved the architectural design of this establishment. The smell is quite amazing and has the smell of rose cologne. The pictures on the wall are very American. The bathroom was very comfy. Amen brother“
“Just moved here and decided to check it out. The check in process is a little confusing, causing us to be sent to the back of a long line. She clearly seen us standing there for 30 minutes, and when I inquired as to when we were to go back, she added us to bottom of the list. I explained we had never been here. She looked at me and said "oh well, I'm sorry" and we waited another 30 min.Once we were seated, everything was great! Service and food was excellent!Just think the check in could be clearer for those who have never been here.“
“Talia’s has delicious food and drinks. It has a great atmosphere for dining, meeting with friends, reading, or doing work on the computer. I love the chicken salad croissant best. Talia’s also has art available for purchase around the cafe which is neat. Definitely a must-try!“
